293 on Komba is located in Nosy Komba (island of Lemurs)…yes, you will get to see lots of lemurs. We were hosted by Marcine, the very attentive owner who organized our collection from the airport, short boat trip to the island and our tours.
The guesthouse is ideally situated in a really nice part of the island, with easy access to Nosy Lokobe, Nosy Be etc.
The beach is just a few steps away and the water temperature was warm. The water is crystal clear and the snorkeling was great.
During our 7 days, we saw turtles on 4 to 5 occasions. 293 on Komba has ‘clear-bottom’ canoes that are free to use. This is nice way to explore the coral and sea life, a bit further from the lodge. For those who enjoy diving, the island’s dive operator will collect you on the beach. I cant wait to go back in October/November when the whales and whale sharks visit!
The rooms are spacious and neat. More importantly, the beds are really comfortable. Our meals were delicious - made from locally sourced ingredients. The fruit was great! I rate the lodge as 5 out of 5 due to location, tranquility, attentiveness/hospitality of the staff and overall comfort. For those who want to relax, see lemurs and chameleons (in the wild) and watch turtles swimming in an environment that is still natural - this is the place to stay!

We had a fantastic time staying at 293 on Komba. Big thank you to Marcine and the team for looking after us so well, and making our last week in Madagascar so special. The rooms and communal spaces are gorgeous and very comfortable, with lots of places to sit/lounge/lie in the gardens and lodge for relaxing and reading - or just admiring the views, it's such a beautiful location. All the food was really great and varied, with the staff team lovely and friendly and always on hand if there's anything you need.
As well as the place itself being fab, Marcine is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, things to do and everything going on, which really helped us make the most of our stay - and made everything very, very easy. Especially enjoyed snorkelling with turtles at Nosy Tanikely and visiting Nosy Be.
The location on the island is perfect, very peaceful and quiet with a beautiful beach and a small coral reef, but with the village a few minutes stroll down the beach and around the corner. Really liked being near the village, top pop in for a drink or a quick shop for souvenirs.
Communications and booking with Marcine very efficient, and every detail arranged very smoothly, from pick up from the mainland to drop off at Nosy Be airport.

What a fantastic place to stay. Marcine and the staff will make your stay unforgettable. In the evening a delicious 3 course dinner will be prepared where you will have the evening meal together with Marcine and the other guests at a long table. Every night it is a new, incredibly tasteful, menu. The atmosphere within the accommodation is very serene so you can relax. The rooms are luxurious and fully equipped. There is no air conditioning, but the fan ensures that the room is wonderfully cool. Every morning there is a very nice breakfast waiting for you with a different juice and a different hot dish every morning. We enjoyed this fantastic place on Nosy Komba and hope to return to this paradise again!

I would highly recommend 293 on Komba. Marcine is an excellent host and she goes the extra mile to make sure all her guests enjoy their stay and most of them leave as friends.
Rooms are comfortable, views and scenery are stunning and exploring the island of Nosy Komba and the neighbouring Nosy Be are very easy from this great location.
HIghly recommended!

A fantastic place to stay. Marcine and her staff were very welcoming and we had some lovely meals eating with Marcine and the other guests. This created a lovely homely feeling. The rooms (only 4) are very spacious with very effective mosquito nets and a fan inside the net which worked just as well as air conditioning! Marcine is very thoughtful with each guest and will organise tours around the area. It was a beautiful place to end our trip to Madagascar and we will definitely return!!

We spent 3 nights at 293 on Komba and it wasn’t enough! The rooms are large and comfortable, the location is quiet with lovely views, and Marcine and her team go out of their way to make the stay memorable with kind service and great food. Marcine organised a fabulous snorkelling trip for one day with some of the other guests and the snorkelling was outstanding! The local village is only a 10 minute walk away with lots of hand made souvenirs to purchase and Lemur Park is worth a visit. We wish we could have stayed a little longer to soak up the island atmosphere!

From the minute our tour company suggested this accommodation, I knew it would be a highlight of our trip.
The location is picture postcard perfect - right at the beach with its own infinity pool for cooling off & ample comfortable sun loungers & chairs for relaxing.
The secret to its success is Marcine & her friendly professional staff. It's small so you get that personal touch.
Our main reason for visiting the area was to see the whale sharks & I booked this in advance with the company recommended by Marcine & they were fantastic. Marcine also arranged for us to go snorkelling in Tanikely - another great experience.
Finally I have to mention the food. Everything is freshly prepared & beautifully presented. Dinner is served at 7pm with all guests & Marcine present & it is a lovely way to meet people & share experiences.
There aren't really any negatives - although due to the greenery, there were quite a lot of flies around so if you're like us & are prone to being bitten by the midges, do bring insect repellent.
Whilst there we met return visitors & I can totally understand why! It's a beautiful home from home lodge with exceptional customer service. I am so glad we stayed here & not on the busy Nosy Be.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We apologize for the flys, but as you saw it’s difficult with 8 mango tress and the mangos “dropping like flys” all the time 😁it’s just through this mango season that we have this issue.

Our days with Marcine were a wonderful end to our Madagascar tour. Over the years, Marcine has created a beautiful boutique hotel where you feel completely taken care of. The rooms are all spacious, clean and beautifully furnished, have a good mosquito net and a shower with warm water. We were lucky enough to stay in the Ylang Ylang Suite with its own terrace and lounge chairs. The entire complex offers various places to relax - by the natural pool, on the daybed, in the lounge or bar. We can only agree with the countless good reviews, because this insider tip leaves nothing to be desired.
In the evening, Marcine's team spoils you with a three-course meal at dinner together. The breakfast is also excellent. Marcine and her team also offer various excursions. The massages on site are also recommended. The proximity to the village makes it easy to explore, whether for shopping, lunch or a visit to the lemur park. Payment at the hotel is possible by credit card. There is no ATM in the village, but money can be exchanged (Euro notes are easiest).
We would like to thank Marcine and her team again for the great time, which we enjoyed to the fullest.

After a busy trip through Madagascar, my girlfriend and I spent the last week at Nosy Komba.
Marcine and her staff gave us an unforgettable week. Marcine is super hospitable, cooperative and sympathetic.
The rooms were cleaned every day and were very tidy. There was no air conditioning, but the fan did its job perfectly, making it very pleasant at night.
The breakfast was of top quality every day and the shared dinner with the other guests was very enjoyable. We quickly developed a nice bond with the other guests and Marcine and we hung out with the other guests during the day. It all felt very friendly and natural.
The activities on and around the island are endless. Hiking, visiting the village, snorkeling, diving, fishing, visiting the lemurs, there is something for everyone.
Payment can be made afterwards by credit card. That is very nice because there are no ATMs on Nosy Komba. This way you are never left with too much or too little local money.
Normally we wouldn't go to the same location quickly. But this location has truly captured our hearts. We will definitely go back to Marcine at Nosy Komba

7 nights in this amazing owner run lodge. Total relaxation in a superb location but with Tannikely island, Lokobe national park or the nearby village easily accessible a great mix of other activities on hand. Delicious meals, excellent cocktails from the bar and a great view across the bay, particularly from the refreshing fresh water pool make for a wonderful holiday experience. Many thanks to Marcine for her attention to detail that makes everything about this resort so special.
