If you want to relax and get away from the masses, see friendly faces and have a stressfree holiday, this is the place for you. Food and drinks up to par. Clean bungalows and quiet at night. 5 min drive to Esparron. Just perfect.

We stayed here for 1 night while we were driving from Cannes to Annecy. It was getting to late afternoon and located the closest campsite to us. The site is beautiful, it is on a slope but the pitches have been leveled out. There are lots of trees, lavender, and donkeys with bells around their necks in fields next to the campsite. The pitches are large, and although they are dry, we didn't have too much trouble pitching the tent. The staff were incredibly friendly. As we were tired we decided to eat at the campsite restaurant. The food was simple but delicious and reasonably priced. Tables are outside, in between the trees with festoon lighting everywhere. It is such a pretty site. Facilities were also good. We slept well as the campsite is quiet (the only noise are the donkeys which we didn't mind!). We paid around 19 euros for one night, two adults and a car, which we thought was very reasonable.

My husband and I followed the weather forecast as our compass and located a camping that looked good in the Verdon area. Upon arrival it was not what we were looking for so we visited other campings in the area and chose Le Lavandin for a few days which ended up becoming two weeks. The reasons we enjoyed it is based of course on what we were looking for: quite, space and close to nature. So if that’s what you’re looking for we can recommend Le Lavandin. It’s family run rather than a big commercial enterprise with dad as lavender farmer on his tractor once in a while, mum and son in all functions as needed around the reception, bar and restaurant, a friend as cook, other friends come to eat, so it has a very warm family sense, and helpful when looking for something in the area. At the same time we were left alone in quite when by our tent. It’s good to know there are dogs around, and there is a zig-zag road just above the main entrance and sound does carry in the hills. You need your own transport also as good walks begin really a short drive away, though there are a few smaller ones from the camping itself.

My girlfriend and I stayed 3 nights in this camping; I often do camping and chose this one as it seemed really good (5 out of 5 on tripadvisor) however first, I found a bit unusual to be asked on the phone for a prepayment that was the equivalent of half of my stay. Then when I called (6.30pm) on arrival day to apologise I would arrive late (9.30pm)... I was greeted by "oh that's late!" which made me feel so welcome. Reception hours are shorter than usual, better to check that ! The spot was flat but rocky, a bit unpleasant to sleep on. Apart from these we have received good advise from the owner about the area & enjoyed the stay.

I spent a week at Le Lavandin with 3 friends last summer. Great atmosphere, in the middle of the pines! We were looking for a relaxing place still with character, and we've found the perfect balance with this camping. Huge camping spaces, to avoid being "serrer comme des sardines" (be crammed in like sardines) as they say and that allowed a true privacy, rare during summertime. On the other side, the camping's "buvette" and restaurant are places where everyone can socialise and spend time together. This huge terrasse where you can eat and drink (great food by the way!) is the heart of the camping, and even the villagers enjoy spending there evenings/nights there. On the Saturdays, live bands are improvising with whoever feels like. Instruments are made available and everyone is welcome to participate. One of our best nights in South France, great memories!!
