My husband and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary here. The oceanview room was comfortable and clean, and it had a stunning view (as promised). The staff were helpful and friendly, and during a time when COVID added extra challenges, the staff at Hopkins Bay wore masks, maintained social distance, and used hand sanitizer regularly. I would definitely stay here in the future. Three things I'd suggest to others who stay at this resort: 1) Don't expect trial sizes of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. There was a "hotel-sized" bar of soap and two large pump bottles with non-descript shampoo and conditioner in the shower. No lotion to be found. Pack accordingly. 2) The bicycles available are not appropriate for people under 5'1". 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY, If you ask the resort to book a puddle-jumper flight from Dangriga to the international airport, double check that they allow enough time. We experienced a brief weather delay and arrived at the international airport having paid for a short flight that didn't get us all the way to the international airport. We had to pay a cab to take us the rest of the way, and when we got there at 30 minutes till departure, the Delta check-in counter was empty. No staff to be seen. A rude Delta employee basically told us that we were too late and the plane was taking off. We had to insist, but we did get on our international flight just in the nick of time.

My family and I were so grateful to travel to beautiful Belize during the pandemic. It was a much needed vacation, and we loved staying at Hopkins Bay Resort. We had a gorgeous 3 bedroom beachfront home. The views were magnificent. My kids loved the kayaks and paddle boards. We used the resort bikes to ride around the town and explore. We felt very immersed in the culture of Belize, which was awesome. Everyone who worked at Hopkins Bay was so friendly and helpful. We had great food and amazing drinks ... loved the pina colada every day! I had a massage with Kira, and she was incredible!! Also, we went horseback riding, cave tubing, and visited a Mayan ruin. All arranged through the resort. Fantastic, fun tours. We all enjoyed. Pablo was our tour guide. He’s phenomenal and so funny. Loved him. This was the best trip!! We will never forget!

Perfect relaxing getaway! The people at Hopkins Bay made our stay even more enjoyable - shoutouts to Michelle at The Drum Bar, Robert our concierge, Pablo our exceptional Maya Tour guide (and Pedro for cave tubing!). They made us feel like family. We loved learning about the history of the country and the daily lives of people in Belize. Travel was easy and safety measures were always taken seriously. COVID-19 testing is available upon arrival at the airport and Robert arranged for us to be tested at the resort prior to our return to the US.

Our entire trip was unbelievable but the Swedish massage on our last day was the perfect book end. The massages we received were calming, professional and extremely relaxing - add in the ocean breeze and waves crashing, you couldn’t manufacture a more ideal ambiance. Another highlight was snorkeling in the reef with a local guide named Patrick. He claimed the see was his backyard and his knowledge definitely showed as he navigated us through some of the most magical sea life. Like all areas of the world, COVID has hurt the local businesses of Hopkins who rely heavily on tourism. We were one of a handful of couples staying in what would typically be a sold out resort. The staff was attentive, welcoming and grateful. They take the pandemic seriously and enforce many safety precautions - never once did I feel at risk. I highly recommend adding Hopkins Bay Resort to your list. You will feel the heart of the culture and community. Stay safe , get tested and come visit.

This is our second visit to Hopkins Bay Resort. From the moment we drove to the gate until sadly we had to leave everyone was absolutely wonderful. We sent an email with grocery requests and happily everything was waiting in our villa. There is not a bad view from any villa; we’ve stayed closer to the back on 1 visit and to the front on this visit and each had a beautiful sunrise view. Teo stopped by several times just to chat and see if there was anything they could do to make our visit even better. Sonia was our housekeeper several days, each time we came back to our villa it was spotless and so fresh smelling. She even would put up our breakfast dishes or would wash if we happened to be rushed in the morning to start our day. We tried to drive monkey river road (don’t try in January) and our car was filthy, Wasaun washed our car and brought it back spotless; even vacuumed out the interior. Twice we sent a large amount of dirty clothes to be laundered and we returned in the afternoon to clean clothes (very reasonable)!! There is no place we would rather stay. If you want quiet, relaxing and 5 star staff, this is the place for you.
