Glen Eden, is located 14 km from the charming, historic town of Montagu, on the famous route 62. The farm boosts 5 luxury cottages/houses, each has a private garden with braai, lawn, a splash pool and a hot tub. Inside the cottages are equipped with everything needed for a self-catering break, plus a Netflix ready smart TV (no need for your own account) 3/5 have indoor fireplaces. There are 2 glamping options, Glen Eden Ranch, has 3 sites, each with a hand-made gypsy wagon, tepee tent, bathroom/kitchen, braai, fire pit and a hot tub. Little Eden hosts option 2 and our micro-bedroom site. Currently there is only one micro-room site, Pixie. The site has 2 micro-bedrooms, kitchen, braai, fire pit and hot tub. The up-market ablution is shared currently with our 6, up market camping sites. Little Eden currently houses our 6 camping sites. Each site is 300 square meters, fenced for privacy and has water and electricity. The sites each have a shaded picnic area with lights, braai, fire pit and hot tub. We have a large recreation area for all our guests to enjoy, the area has a swimming pool, with day beds and sun loungers. There is also a jungle gym, a shiny red tractor for the children and lots of picnic spots. There are many walks to enjoy on-site, and a dam which your welcome to fish in, maybe even a trip in the small rowing boat there. We have a touch farm with many rescued animals; donkeys, alpacas, goats, sheep, pigs, turkeys, ducks, geese, rabbits, and peacocks. Heidiland Horseback Adventures is also located on Glen Eden, so help horse riding can also be arranged. All properties have 360 mountain views and offer a peaceful location, all within 10 minutes drive of the centre of Montagu. The property offers free parking. Children of all ages are welcome, all cottages are pets friendly.

Detailed Reviews
Glen Eden makes for a perfect family getaway. The micro bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils you need to whip up a 5 course gourmet meal, or just a good cup of tea. Even the wood is supplied, which you can use for your braai, fire pit or to heat the jacuzzi. If you're not up for a braai, you have a gas stove to cook your meals. The communal toilet and shower facility is only a few meters away from the site and the starlit Montagu sky makes the trip there even more effortless. Two thumbs up for me. Cannot wait to return.

What a place!
I think it speaks volumes if in our 5 day stay we only left the site for a food shop essentials.
This quiet place leaves you to relax and recharge. I never thought this was possible with 3 young active kids but this place honestly has been a god send. Our children are 2,4 and 6 years old.
We rented blue crane house which was right by the animals, play park, pool and bar/pizzeria.
You can simply open your back door as soon as the children wake and let them safely run and play in the fenced garden. The animals pens back right onto this and the goats and peacock especially make themselves friends with you very quickly in the yard. We also enjoyed taking part in the animal feeding and herding to the other field.
Our kids safely cycled up and down the path next to the house without any concern of poor safety.
The house is well equipped and the staff cannot do enough for you if they are any needs for things.
In the garden you have a swimming pool and a wood fire hot tub. Wood is also provided at a low charge.
The bathroom really could do with a replacement but we were so thankful for what we had.
The houses, glamping and campsites are so well maintained and spaced so you don't ever feel it's over crowded.
Priviledge the pizzeria lady and carol especially were so so friendly and made the ability to be relaxed, not worry about your kids noise and enjoyment possible.
There is a stunning dam opposite the site as well as one on site for fishing.
We honestly cannot thank you enough for our much needed break.

My Wife and i stayed at GEF in January for a week, It was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and their marvellous staff. The cottage was spotless clean and the plunge pool fantastic after a day in the sun. There were plenty of pots and pans also the Braai was great. Being British needed advice on the use of braai but our hosts pointed us in the right direction. We had one every night. There are lots of local amenities and Montagu is great spot for lunch. We enjoyed the museums in montagu full of local history and the staff were very informative. Had a day at the Brede river went on a boat from the winery and that was fabulous.
All in all a great time was had
Thanks

Location well signposted and easy to find. Accommodation was a 2 bedroomed renovated workers cottage with a well kept fenced grass patch & splash pool. Bedding and towels clean & fresh but lounge furniture basic and uncomfortable. Modern kitchen. WiFi connection good as is cell phone reception. Some crockery/cutlery dirty & unwashed, top of microwave oven thick with dust & grime. French door difficult to open, some electric plug sockets not working. Ran out of water. Lots of road traffic noise during the day. Biggest concern, given isolated location is personal safety. No burglar bars or security gates. No info on what to do or who to contact in the event of an emergency. Never met the host - all communication via WhatsApp. More attention to detail and the personal touch would improve matters. 2.5 star facility at 5 star price.

Hi George Firstly thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We will be updating our sofas next year part of our continual improvements, apologies if you found the current set uncomfortable. The dirty cutlery and the top of microwaves will be checked, and we will look at the French doors, apologies they were not in order during your stay. Because of COVID protocols on social distancing we have changed to self check in and out and minimum contact unless needed. Sorry you did not feel safe on the farm, we live on site and are always on hand, there are also other guests on the farm. There should be an emergency sheet with doctors, vets, pharmacy, ambulance etc and I will 100% check all our welcome packs are not missing any vital information. I hope we may get another opportunity to host you in the future.

What a superb place for camping or caravans! The exclusive bird bath ( mini pool) at each site is such a bonus. We spent most of our time in it as we had 36 degrees most of our days! Claudette and Andy are always busy attending to guests. Carol is such an asset to the farm.
Now they have pizza and coffee kiosks next to the main pool area!
What a perfect place! We love it!

Spent 2 nights in the Honeybee lodge. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids age 10 & 11. Kids aboslutely loved their stay with a highlight being the touch farm with goats, rabbits, alpacca's, sheep, etc. There was also a small jungle gym with swings as well. The cottage had a welcome splash pool and braai facilities with wood provided so we braaied each evening. The farm next door, just 600m down the road, is Heidiland Horseback Adventures which offer a variety of outride options depending on your riding skill level. On our horesback ride we were lucky enough to spot 3 Oryx on one of the neighbouring farms. Would highly recommend a stay here to experience the Klein Karoo and we will definately be back.

Glen Eden was a wonderful surprise, we were intrigued by the unique gypsy/shepherd vans and tipis, but the venue offers so much more than a fun nights sleep. Onlyu a shirt drive out of Montague, a town full of interesting places to visit. Our shepherds van (Fynbos) at Glen Eden was perfect for our family of 4, we loved the bunk beds, the well equipped kitchen and the beautiful bathroom. The wood fired hot tub was such fun and just right for a small family. Netflix on the TV was an added bonus. The position of Fynbos, overlooking the ridge was perfect, we felt like we were the only people on the farm. Besides the wonderful accommodation, our kids loved feeding the numerous farm animals twice a day and playing in the play area. We will certainly be back and take advantage of the on-site coffee and pizzas. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This place is pure magic and has everything you need plus Donkeys and Alpacas. My kids had the best time. We will definately be back. The glamping site is perfection but do not go in winter you will possibly freeze to death. The cottages were ideal for us and a little playground just outside our door. Claudette is so friendly and accomodating. She is super helpful and nothing is too much trouble for her. Thank you for having us and sharing your farm with us

We booked Blue Crane cottage with a group of friends. We had a wonderful stay. We thought that the accommodation was very good value for money with inter alia the private splash pool & hot tub, as well as the pizza shop & farm animals. The house itself was spacious & had everything we would need for a weekend stay.
We will definitely be back!!

Great farm that is family friendly and couple friendly. Lots of animals to feed and pet. Great pool lounge area with kids play ground. Camping sites are huge with a hot tub and eating station on each individual property. Has 3 cute wagons with Tipi Tents in the glamping section as well with kitchen area and fire pit. If you looking for a break away from the City then defs a must visit - Just over 2 hour drive from CPT.
