Detailed Reviews
We really cannot fault In Abundance. We were upgraded as the accommodation was not fully booked during our dates and we were staying for 5 nights. The quality of service was excellent from all staff and the breakfasts were exceptional with delicious bread, fruit and cooked options.
We also received good advice on places to visit, or restaurant reservations. The pool area provides a lovely quiet and relaxing location - great to unwind at the end of the day.
Overall, we wondered if 5 nights would be too long to stay but it wasn't and it was our favourite accommodation from our 14 night trip.
Thank you!

We spent eight days with friends and family at In Abundance. The house sleeps 10 people in five state of the art rooms with great firm mattresses and all with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are very spacious, each with a television, Nespresso machine and bar fridge and everyone could just relax.
Wifi is great as well as DSTV, but we spent most of our time at the pool surrounded by a view of the mountains.
The property is private and it does not feel as if there is anyone else around, even though the walk to town is but a few steps.
Martly and Hanno were perfect hosts. They gave us a run down (and map) of Montagu as well as a long list of things to do in the area. We will definitely have to go back as we could not get through list in one week, and the house was so great we preferred to stay at home at the pool, braai, or cooking in the wonderful kitchen.
Everything in this house is top quality, from the garden to the bathrooms. A lot of thought and planning has gone into the layout, décor and garden, and it has a very understated yet classy atmosphere.
The procurement of beautiful art pieces throughout house and garden really makes one feel as if this house was designed and styled for Garden and Home magazine, yet we never felt uncomfortable or formal.
Everything we needer was there and it was just perfect.
I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking to get away in a group setting.

We arrived in Abundance, Montagu on Sunday 15th March, a day when the President declared a National Disaster ... a speech that would signal how the impact of the Coronavirus would severely impact the movement of guests to this beautiful country.
On arrival, before this news broke, our hosts Martly and Hannover could not have made us more welcome. Their guest house is an oasis of calm and luxury and we were treated like royalty. Our room was lovely in every way, well appointed with every luxury.
They kindly booked a restaurant for us that evening in town and we got back to the room about 8.30pm. It was then things changed and we realised that we had to bring our holiday to a close (we were 3 days into a 14 day holiday) and get back to the UK. Martly and Hanno could not have been more supportive. They went above and beyond to help us. They placed a phone for our use in the reception area, made calls for us, helped us book flights and even provided us with a small picnic of food to travel with. And they wouldn’t accept anything for any of this. It was an extraordinary example of goodwill and generosity and I can’t thank them enough for their kindness. This at a time when they were were being inundated with cancellation requests.
When things settle, do make time to visit this amazing place. I can’t speak more highly about the hosts or this guest house. We wish Martly and Hanno every success and pray it’s not long before things return to normality.
South Africa is an amazingly generous country and our visit here at this challenging time just confirmed why it’s our favourite country to visit in the world.

Highly recommend as is very well situated in Montagu walking distance from shops and restaurants and surrounded by beautiful old homes. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and attractive with great views overlooking a lovely pool, patio and garden with ample seats and loungers and incredible views to the surrounding mountains. A peaceful lush respite with nice room amenities including locally produced snacks, fruit, tea, coffee, and a very warm welcome. Breakfast was also outstanding and we felt very welcome and comfortable here. Lovely place to stay.

Fab-u-lous! This is such a great guest house run by Marty and her excellent team. We stayed in room 3 with double doors onto the pool decking with very comfy beds and spotless bathroom. Marty has thought of everything and this shows in her attention to detail and selection of only the finest local products for breakfast. We absolutely loved staying here.

Our two nights here were so relaxing. The house, pool, and mountain views made it difficult to drag ourselves away to do any sightseeing. Breakfasts around the pool were superb and we liked the little touches such as the complementary drinks in the minibar. Considering the owners Marlien & Hanno were relatively new to the hospitality industry, they made it appear effortless. A great b&b!

Our stay at In Abundance was everything and more you'd expect from a breakaway weekend. The setting is beautiful, overlooking the mountains. The guesthouse is sophisticated but homey, a place where you can put your feet up and relax. The hosts are very generous. The fireplace was lit when we got home after a day out, and dinner and drinks were ready. We were served a scrumptious breakfast and dinner, with freshly pressed juices and delicacies from local farms and suppliers. They had a lot of wonderful suggestions for activities, especially as we were there with 2 little boys. They kindly accommodated the little ones as well. I can highly recommend In Abundance for your next trip on Route 62.

We had the most amazing stay at In Abundance Guesthouse. It was perfect in all aspects. It’s a very intimate guesthouse with only 4 room in a beautiful and tranquil location in the sleepy town of Montague. Time stands still here. We were treated by the outstanding hospitality of Martly and Hanno who have gone above and beyond to make our stay special, nothing was too much to ask. A delicious breakfast was served every morning in a beautiful garden setting. We enjoyed the tranquility of Montague during this much needed break and will definitely return.

We can recommend In Abundance Guest House to anyone wanting to travel to Montagu. We were spoilt from the beginning to the end by Martly. She was extremely helpful and took extra care of us showing us around making sure we are comfortable as well as organizing a trip of the town. We pre-ordered food for dinner and it was superb. Breakfast was home made muesli and yohurt with abundant fruit. And we could have hot choc and cuppachino’s to our hearts delight. We used the fireplace for the cold evening and had the most amazing books (including travel books) to choose from. What a special evening. Bolla the cat also joined us.
Her place is so well looked after and neat and tidy. Pure luxury.
Thank you for a fantastic time.
