very nice as always for a winery trip in Robertson and a very interesting olive Oil tasting at Marbryn and of course fine dining at Mimosa. Dispite of Corona wonderful service. Nothing to complain about.
Builders were in and out the property until almost 18h00 and back on the property from 6h45. A room that was suppose to be private and secluded was not.. It would have been better to visit after the pandemic issues, but we were not informed of all the activity at the hotel.
This is our 5th visit to this great lodge in the charming town of Montagu. This time we were the first guests to stay in the new room created out of the old conference room. It was huge with direct access to the garden but very private. Feda's very stylish decor and furnishing, period meets contemporary and a great red bath! Since our last visit there had been some further alterations to the property, a new bar being created next to the pool area instead of at the front of the building and that area was now a high end gift shop and cafe. One of the highlights of Mimosa Lodge is the food - set menu fine dining, although if there are items on the menu not to your taste they will happily change it. The current chef is Zimbabwean and he's been trained by Bernard and many of the staff have been there almost since the start. As for things to do in and around the town. There are the fabulous hsitorical buildings - there is a walking plan available, back through Ashton a picnic on the Breed River and in the other direction a great ride up the mountain on a 50 year old tractor, usually on a Saturday and Wednesday on the Protea Fruit Farm, great fun.…
We had a perfect stay at the Mimosa Lodge. A very warm welcome from Bernie Wiese and the owner Family Hess. The traditional Dinner with the different Mimosa wines is outstanding. The price for it very fair! The visit should be a must!
Stayed one night at this charming boutique hotel, in a very large, comfortable room with vaulted ceilings, king size bed, large bathroom with separate tub and shower, and A/C. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of shops/restaurants. The garden is lush and has a nice pool available 24/7. Pool towels are provided. A nice English breakfast was included. 4-course dinner and wine pairing can be added on for an extra price, although we elected to walk the small town and eat at a restaurant. If you do the same, be sure to make reservations ahead of your visit, as it seems that some restaurants get filled ahead of time.
