A small, beautifully decorated and ideally located home. Charming hostess, honesty bar, view to the mountains over its own vineyard (but a 2-min walk to shops and restaurants), rooms away from the main house - private and comfortable. (Ours had an outside shower!) Plenty of parking. Back from cycling, we washed our dirty bikes in the garden, had a swim, then sat on the lawn with a glass of wine watching the colours change with the sunset. Hard to beat.

How many times in one weekend can you say “WOW!”

If you’re a hotelier or a B&B operator and want to learn something about how to do it properly, leave town and head to the Vineyard Country house in picturesque Montagu. The attention to detail in every aspect of this boutique guesthouse is simply outstanding!

It starts with an inviting welcome on arrival extended by our gracious hosts, Louise and Lauren who have welcome drinks waiting.

Then prepare to be awe-inspired by the well appointed rooms, the immaculate swimming pool and comfortable common areas, and the soul reviving views and tranquility of this property is unrivaled.
The home (accommodation) itself, is a tasteful nod to the hosts obvious flare and eye for country decor and is really head and shoulders above any expectation you may have had before arriving. A fitting inclusion in any issue of VISI magazine.

Foodies brace yourself, food is coming, a decandant well constructed feast for all the senses. Breakfast is glorious, beautifully plated and plate-lickingly DELICIOUS!!!

If you want to learn about Service, take out your notepads and try to figure out how these ladies create that magic. You’ll return again and again to Relax, Unwind and Enjoy the good life!

10 of us, spanning 3 generations descended on this excellent B&B for 2 nights. Each room with en suite bathrooms afforded us every luxury. Our hostesses made us so welcome and we were able to use the lounge, dining room and verandas.
The highlight was the amazing breakfasts catering for everyone’s tastes.
We had requested an ‘in house’ birthday dinner. A beautifully laid table led to an explosion of tastes as we savoured a three course meal with delight.
Thank you for an unforgettable weekend... we can’t wait to come back again.

My husband and I stayed at the Vineyard for one night while on a road trip in the Western Cape .
Montagu is a lovely little town and the Victorian guesthouse fits perfectly in its surroundings .
I loved the understated by stylish French decor and the garden with an abundance of fruit trees , especially the Pomegrante tree in front of our room .
The breakfast was well presented and very tasty with fresh orange juice served

We were a family of 4 occupying 2 rooms. Both very comfortable and with their own verandah. We only stayed for 1 night. Check in was straight forward. The children used the pool which I personally thought could have done with a clean in the smaller section particularly however they enjoyed it especially as it was a very hot day. We had previously made a reservation For the restaurant at Church 22 a week in advance which was excellent. They were turning away customers all evening so best to book ahead if you wish to dine here. The breakfast was excellent and definitely more akin to a 5* hotel in its quality and presentation. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is parking on site.

A very comfortable and tastefully decorated room enhanced by the equally comfortable verandah which gave us views of the vineyard and fruit orchard. The cherry on top was the fantastic gourmet breakfast the next morning. Our hosts Lauren & Louise made sure our stay was menorable. A return visit is a must!!!

Undoubtedly one of the best we've ever stayed in. Service is top-notch, location central and very safe. That makes nearly everything within walking distance. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet.
Most impressive is the fact that rooms are all separate from the "main" house, which allows for very little interference from other guests.
My only issue was registration/booking in, but I understand why. However, I would recommend a short description of registration procedures included in confirmation emails.

We had a lovely time in your B&B. We only stayed for one night as we were on our way from Paarl to Plettenberg bay. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay in Montagu.
We've never had a more exquisite breakfast with freshly baked scones, toast, eggs & bacon, ... yummie! And offcourse a superb service.
