We had a wonderful trip! The venue is immaculate, the gardens are exquisite. Woken by the song of birds in picturesque surroundings is all the medicine a weary soul needs. There a few attractions in the town but more than enough for nature lovers to be enthralled including hiking trails and a botanical garden. Our hosts were generous and accommodating, service was flawless. We loved every minute of our stay and highly recommend it.

We booked the self catering accommodation, which is lovely and spacious. The room is well fitted out and clean, and Monica is an excellent hostess - very professional. The room was also serviced over the weekend, which makes a weekend break even more restful. We opted for the cooked breakfast on the balcony too and that was very pleasant.

Very spacious room, with lounge area, "kitchen" area with microwave, fridge, kettle, etc. Lounge extending to a veranda. Large and comfortable bathroom with a nice big shower! Beautifully and tastefully decorated, very cool and welcoming on a hot day and will be cozy and warm on a cool day. Very friendly and welcoming hosts with great suggestions of things to do and places to see. The peace and quiet are tangible! Very highly recommended!

Very warm welcome. Beautifully presented tasty breakfast on the garden patio. Spacious and well equipped Rondavel apartment, traditional feel with plenty of African nature books too. Easy access to town despite the ongoing roadworks. Highly recommended PS enjoyed watching the sugarbirds feeding in nearby tree.

We only stayed for one night passing through Montagu, but regretted not staying longer. Monica made us feel very much at home and gave us useful tips for the area. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

We were participants in the route 62 rally in Montagu and stayed for 3 nights at the Anchorage Inn.Lovely and comfortable African theme cottage and with Monica and Joop great hosts. Top breakfast with view in the garden. Only 10 minute to the town centre with some restaurants and shops.

Accommodation at Anchorage Inn is very comfortable. The room essentially consisted of a small chalet with en suite bathroom. The latter is old, but very well maintained and clean, with a shower in the bath. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. With the extensive road construction works going on in town, it is worth noting that Anchorage Inn is situated on the outer rim of the town, so access and noise levels due to construction do not affect your visit.

We have stayed in Montagu a few times, and once we found the Anchorage Inn a few years ago we always stay here. The accommodation in lovely and spacious, providing everything you need. The location is on the edge of the town, but easy walking distance to restaurants. Monica and Joop are excellent hosts and extremely helpful with advice of where to go and what to do, not just in Montagu but also for other places in southern Africa.
