Malachite Cottage (pet-friendly) is a charming two-sleeper stone cottage adjacent to the main farm house. Giant (wheelchair friendly), Brown-hooded and Pied Cottages are eco-friendly cottages build using natural building materials and techniques and are located about 1km down the valley from the main farm.

Relaxing, quiet and peaceful stay in a wonderful farm environment. Away from all noise - fantastic walk around the mountain and into the kloof for a swim in the pools along the way Annie (dog) was a huge welcome and clearly upset we were leaving!!!

Absolutely stunning location at the end of the road in the middle of the mountains. Quiet, tranquil. Can either chill out and put your feet up or if feeling active, lots of decent and scenic hikes on the property, some trout fishing though the buggers were not biting this time round and for the more rugged some testing MTB routes to explore. Cottage is very neatly designed and well appointed and pretty much everything you require, comfortable and spacious. Spotless and well maintained. Highly recommended.

We so enjoyed our stay in this delightful destination in a hidden valley. The owners went out of their way to help us with car mechanical issues when we broke down 12km from our destination. But it was more than that. The care taken to invest in this sustainable project. Truly inspirational. A wonderful pet friendly option. Would highly recommend.

Marco and Vivian are exceptional hosts, accommodation is 5 star, they have created breathtaking walks and sundowner spots, birding is superb. Don't miss the trout farming - it's an educational delight. Highly recommended.

an excellently-run farm with loads of Tender Loving Care put into everything. Accomodation is great, location is remote enough to feel far away from the world, the whole operation is run off-grid and sustainably and the various farm operations are very interesting, especially the Trout Farm. Two nice trails to walk/hike, scenic sundowner spots and hot-tubs for a treat under the stars. A wonderful place with attentive and very hard-working hosts - we will definitely return.

Everything was wonderful, the cottages are beautiful. We loved the hiking trails and fishing for trout. The farm's own trout products are delicious - can recommend the smoked trout! Highly recommend staying at the beautiful eco-friendly King Fisher Cottages. Cannot wait to visit again.

Kingfisher Cottages are wonderful cottages on a beautiful farm. The cottage has everything you need despite being off-grid, the pool is lovely and there are lots of great hikes on the farm. The playground and boma make the stay extra special, especially with kids.

Kingfisher Cottages are located in a lovely family run farm, with a focus on sustainability and the environment. We very much enjoyed our time there, including the wonderful hikes, the delicious trout available for sale at the main cottage, and our time with Annie (the family dog). I would gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting the Karoo.
