We had a very good stay. Staff was very frendly and helpfull. Beautiful lodge with a lot of privacy. De food was delicious, they made it with love. We stayed 2 nights and had 4 game drives. Especialy in the morning we saw the big animals in the North. In the South (where the with lion lodge is) there were less animals. Long distance to drive to the North in the morning. We saw the White Lion!! Thanks to Israël!
A perfect place to relax in nature. But do not go there if safaris are your prime reason to visit Sanbona. Animals are only in the Northern part of Sanbona and it takes almost an hour to drive there. Guide is not allowed to leave the main roads. Southern part of Sanbona has mostly zebras, antelopes, springbok, birds, ...
A beautiful lodge, situated in the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. It was bitterly cold but we were cosy and warm in the room with a gas heater. The facilities are superb, the food excellent. Overall a magnificent stay with friendly staff. If you are going for the big 5 - it isn't the place for you - we were unable to go to the North of the Park due to the COVID restrictions. But if you want to enjoy the beauty of the Western Cape - flora and fauna with a few animal sightings then it is perfect.
Stayed at the White lion just before lock down.24-26 March Gerry is an excellent host and very helpful...Location is fantastic, so is the service....the whole scenery is amazing We will be back as soon as possible...Jacob and Cleo
A great 3 day stay at Sanbona in this fantastic lodge. Everything about the lodge and the staff was great; the safari experience was good and we thought our guide - Israel, was wonderful although we never saw under the hat! The landscape at Sanbona is beautiful and varied which makes a relatively lengthy drive into the northern area of the reserve interesting in itself.
