Set against the backdrop of the Langeberg mountains, Olive Stone Farm is situated in the heart of Montagu and is within walking distance from cafes, breweries, restaurants, hiking trails, art galleries, coffee shops and more. The tastefully decorated luxury self-catering stone cottages are enveloped by an olive grove of 700 trees which ensures a romantic and tranquil atmosphere. Each cottage has its own private rock pool for summer and a fireplace for the winter Karoo nights as well as braai facilities. Each cottage has a wood fired hot tub. Daily activities on Olive Stone Farm include taking care of all the free-range animals, collecting chicken eggs from hiding places, bottling our olive oil from the barrels, composting the rose and vegetable garden, pruning the olive trees and generally just caring of this beautiful piece of land. In autumn the Mission and Frantoio olives are hand-picked and pressed to produce oil that is soft on the palate and sweet to the taste. Experience farm living redefined.
We had the most incredible stay at Olive cottage. This is one of the best, if not the best, self catering cottages we had the pleasure the enjoy. Attention to detail and beautiful really does not begin to do justice to how superb this farm stay is. It had all the extras that one could hope for. Jan cutlery, most delicate wine, sherry and champagne glasses. The plates real antiques and Noritake mugs. The bed and bedding of highest quality and then I have not even started with the views, the private eco pool and hot tub outside. A must stay when you visit Montagu. Even the worst storm in decades did not detracted the this delightful stay.

Our stay for my birthday weekend was an absolute treat! Wanda and Johan are excellent hosts and go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need and feel comfortable during your stay. We love the Farm Cottage we stayed in, it has the perfect combination of a fireplace inside the unit and a wood fired hot tub outside as well as cold dipping pool for summer months. You cannot ask for more! The decor, facilities, surroundings, location and hosts are fantastic. Our weekend stay felt like a week away! We highly recommend a visit.

We were blown away by every little detail of this place. Not only was the cottage spotless, tastefully decorated and very neat, but the farm as a whole was amazing. Everything is of the highest quality from bedding to cutlery. We will be back again for sure!!

The cottages are beautiful and private in peaceful surroundings. Bonus, our spaniel could accompany us and seemed to enjoy the surroundings as much as we did. The outside shower was an absolute treat and the locally produced soaps and cream in the bathroom turned everything into a heavenly experience. We had beautiful sunny weather and thoroughly enjoyed being able to cool off in our own private swimming pool - sal ons wat verbeel! In the kitchen, free range eggs, rusks and olive oil from the farm completed the experience. Johan and Wanda are very attentive hosts. We want to thank them for sharing their beautiful property with us.

This is outstanding accommodation. A year ago it was taken over by Wanda & Johan; they have a clear vision for their future and improvements to an establishment that was impressive before they arrived. Just off the R62 ...and you can occasionally hear the traffic but it is NOT intrusive... the plot has many olive trees (their olive oil is very good) and railed fields for sheep and chickens - a delight to wake up to. The 3 cottages are spaced out and very well equipped. Most comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to return when we’re passing this way again during our extensive travels.

The cottages are immaculately clean, cosy and very private. They have a splash pool with water that’s so fresh; I would almost call it crispy! The kitchen is provided with everything you need to cook and there’s a braai (bbq) but there are also some very nice restaurants on walking distance. Wanda is a friendly and helpful host and her husband makes delicious olive oil. In short: highly recommend!

We were recommended Olive Stone Farm for artisanal local olive oil.The farm is fun with hundreds of chickens roaming around and other animals as well but most importantly olive trees. The olive oil is processed elsewhere and is cold pressed and without oxidisation key elements in providing a high quality extra virgin olive oil.We were given a tasting and it was exquisite - well balanced with a lingering but not sharp taste. We immediately bought 2 litre can at reasonable price of SAR300 - it is not a commercial enterprise unlike other and is not sold outside the farm and mainly to guests staying at the self-catering cottages which I have included - it is a case of never judge a book by its cover but they are luxurious inside and each has a plunge pool
