Value
Keisie Cottages has four self-catering cottages on a working farm in the beautiful Keisie Valley 24 kms from Montagu in the Langeberg, Western Cape. There are two one-bedroom cottages, a two bedroom cottage and a three bedroom house. All have fireplaces, bedding is included, they are very comfortable but priced for the budget traveller. There is a farm-style swimming pool next to two hectares of roses, magnificent scenery, star-gazing like you haven't seen for a while and wonderful hikes. Best of all very safe and you can bring your friendly pet! Next to Protea Farm which does the famous tractor ride to the top of the Langeberg and close to the wine routes, there is plenty to do.

We were not sure what to expect as we were a group of 15 people but the 3 cottages we booked adequately accommodated us all. Keisie cottages is a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily city life. We were warmly received by the Pulles and were pleasantly surprised by the well-equipped and homely cottages. A bonus was the coffee machine! The children loved the freedom of exploring the farm and enjoyed the 2 swimming pools. The lovely gardens and rose garden provides tranquillity for the soul,

The cottage was well equipped and cosy. The rose garden, veggie patch, and various paths around the farm were a delight to walk through with the dogs. The swimming pool was a welcomed relief from the heat. Be prepared for sweltering temperatures in December/January. The neighbouring wine farms in Montague and Ashton were great for wine tasting adventures.

Keisie cottages is situated in the most gorgeous little valley, rich in natural farm heritage. A getaway so special that one finds themselves almost not wanting to tell anyone about this secret escape that opens to a world of charm , colour, and variety found between the rivers and fruit trees of this place...which we are returning to again this Christmas....cant wait! Highly recommended if one likes stillness, walks, dogs and sunsets!

Stayed in Fig Cottage which is nice enough being advertised as rustic! No door on the bedroom, no doors on the wardrobe, no where to unpack your stuff into draws if staying for a few days. The table and chair set outside is the old metal frame type from 30 years ago with no cushions. The access road is very poor which runs through 2 water streams over the road, not good for low slung cars. Taking that apart the area is wonderful, the hosts are very pleasant also. Not suitable if you wish to visit a restaurant in the evening as they are over 20 kms away.

Great place to switch off and relax. Not the fanciest or most luxurious place to stay but definitely comfy, clean and worth every cent. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Lovely rose, veg and herb garden. Great trails in die mountain and lots to do in the area. (Wine tasting, hot springs, Protea farm tractor rides etc) Make sure you buy some of the canned whole figs - its to die for.

Nine of us with two dogs spent the night at Gooseberry House at Keisie Cottages. Easy drive from Cape Town, beautiful surroundings and house has everything you need: big TV, DSTV, pool, fireplace, three double beds and very well-equipped kitchen. Kids' room and bathroom are a bit basic but perfectly functional. Watch the Dover Stove in the lounge as it smokes quite badly if you get it wrong. Lovely walks on the farm - we had a great time. Excellent value for money.

Quaint little cottage with beautiful surroundings. Lovely fireplace and electric blankets for cold nights. We stayed at the fig tree cottage and will be back for sure! Will definitely recommend this for a quick weekend getaway from the city

We loved the cottage with all the things you might need for self catering. Fresh herbs in the kitchen and friendly people. Simba enjoyed his long walk with us on the farm. The peace and quiet rejuvenate the soul. Will definately recommend Keisies cottages to my family and friends.
