Nice Location, and unit was clean. i messed up the dates for the booking, which i felt the owner used to her advantage to charge us an additional 50%. we had gone down for a funeral of a family member, so had to book in a hurry and just accepted this additional charge, not wanting to get into a disagreement. .

Response from Regina Z, Owner at Afrizola

Excuse me? I haven't charge more than the rate for the 3 nights....must be a miscalculating from your side! Remember you have not made a deposit payment of 50%, rather you paid full upon arrival.

Lovely room with a fantastic view. Cooking facilities included. Room cleaned daily. Owner very nice, she even received post for us. Internet worked on-off. Pool could not be used because of Cape Town shortage on water. Definitely I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a place to recharge and disconnect.

Overall it was great. But it was disappointing to see how the water restrictions influenced our stay. It would be helpful if Booking.com, or just the Guesthouse itself, reminded us that the awesome bath in the unit would have no plug and the pool would be covered and unuseable. It would have allowed me to book a cheaper place as those were some of the main amenities I searched for. I respect the water restrictions, but I really think a reminder should be given about it when booking. But again, the place itself is great! :-)

During our visit to my home town we ended up staying for a bit longer then expected. Regina was super accommodating and we ended up staying in 3 of the rooms on offer (due to other peoples previous bookings). I can say every room we stayed in was gorgeous! The pool was a definite plus as it had a cover (in Fish Hoek Wind you need it so it stays clean) and was slightly warmer then expected. The driveway is a bit difficult due to it being steep but you get the hang of it quite quickly and it really doesn't detract from the experience. Its peaceful with a beautiful view. I see from others reviews they mention that the double beds are made up of two beds pushed together. This is true and might not be to everyones taste but we had no problem with this and once again really didn't detract from the rooms or visit. If we need to stay in Fish Hoek again we'll definitely come back here.
