SECURITY IS TERRIBLE!
You need to do something about upgrading the lodge's general security - maybe with pallisade and or electric fences, etc.
On our first day we had intruders trying to steal through the bedroom windows - this whilst we were still busy unpacking!!
The 2nd morning when we came outside - and our vehicle's hubcaps had been stolen!!
A person doesn't feel safe at all!!
I think a pallisade fence (and electric fence) around the perimeter could assist in a person feeling more safe...and then also, maybe it would be possible to open a window at night when you sleep.
You could have a keypad at a gate from the beach - for tennants to gain access to the property.
I never saw any security guards - hence probably why our vehicles hubcaps were stolen.

The cottage was comfortable and well equipped...
Would just have liked the option of having it cleaned & serviced on a daily basis - even if it means paying a bit more.
The sea sand and sea spray gets into every nook & cranny...and it definitely needs to be cleaned on a daily basis.
Also we had to make do with the same bedding, bathmat etc. for 10 days.
Which is really unacceptable for such a long period of time.
I understand that there are water restrictions - but according to your documentation...you have a borehole.

The braai area is also unacceptable.
It is way too low, and it is too far away from the house. And it also doesn't offer any shade or protection from the rain.

Generally it was a pleasant stay - but I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending it, until the security is upgraded!!

We had a 4 night stay booked for a visit to Cape Town. This was a great location within easy reach (by car for us). The accommodation was perfect for us - affordable and right near the beach and with easy walking distance of restaurants, cafes and shops. Wifi wasn't the greatest but this did not spoil our visit. Staff very quick to sort any issues onsite and very helpful by email to deal with any queries - definitely recommend this cottage for a base while visiting.

Excellent, clean accommodation right on the beach front. Although no towels were supplied we were advised about this before hand. I highly recommend this resort for weekend or short stays in the Western Cape.

Very small, old and tired property, with worn out facilities. The owner asked that we leave the keys in the safety deposit box, but didn't give us the code. This is a high crime area and there were a lot of shifty people hanging around in the car park, so for my hosts benefit, I spent the morning of our departure trying to call her to get the code, but she wouldn't answer, so I ran around trying to get a neighbour to take the key (which none of them would do). Because I was taking care of this problem, I didn't get a chance to do any cleaning, but the house wasn't terrible - it just hadn't been cleaned for a few days. They then sent me a R1000 cleaning bill, for the tiny flat. They are also trying their luck by saying we damaged three pots, which they claim were less than a year old, and trying to get me to pay for that. In the time we were there I don't even think we used three pots and there is nothing in that house less than one year old. Avoid!

Very nice cottages clean. Well positioned right on the beach. Close to the shops. Really nice beach. If you have 4 adults cottage is small but for 2 adults and children it's perfect. The gardens are well maintained pretty.

The cottages are well located - just over dunes from the beach and an easy walk to shops and train station. Prices are reasonable and staff friendly. While certainly habitable the area is a little run down and could do with a fix up.

We were very impressed with the rates charged for this accommodation. We were right on the beach. It was a lovely two bedroom cottage. It is self catering. We could walk to the shops and restaurants in Fish Hoek. We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage had everything we needed. We would love to go again.

Room Tip: Ask for a cottage on the back row closest to the beach.
