Whether you awake to extraordinary sunrises, eat delicious food, linger by the fireside, walk to the beach or relax in the Jacuzzi, Tranquility has it all... Oh, we forgot to mention superb breakfasts, fresh flowers, fine linen, free Wireless internet access and warm South African hospitality. Tranquility is situated just 40 km's south of Cape Town and nestles between two mountains and two oceans along the False Bay coast. Surrounded by beautiful beaches and nature reserves, Tranquility is centrally disposed to Cape Town's tourist attractions and the quaint villages of Muizenberg, Kalk Bay, Simonstown, Scarborough, Kommetjie, Noordhoek and Hout Bay as well as the Constantia vineyards and Cape Point. We loved every second of our stay at the guesthouse. Jan and his family take such good care of you, there are no words to describe how kind they are.
Jan and Bonny make your breakfast with fresh fruits, egg and bacon, muffins and much more just for you every morning.
Every room has sea view...it is just incredible. We will come back for sure.
Thank you Jan, Bonny, Jessie, Holly, Suki and Cocoa!!

Rooms light and spacious. Great hospitality and very warm welcome. Highlight was the quality of the breakfast provided and the level of local information offered. We would have no hesitation in staying there again should we return to the area.

WOW!!! Where do I start???I've been coming to Fish Hoek for years (20+) and have NEVER stayed anywhere like Tranquility. It easily beats every AirBnB and every hotel I've stayed at in the area... The bed was very comfy, the room and bathroom were spotless, so clean. I stayed in what is called THE LOFT ROOM.The room was perfect. Spacious. My room had a big bed, a couch and two little chairs on the balcony overlooking the Fish Hoek Valley and sea. This place had incredible attention to detail. Fresh flowers from the garden in the room every morning. Fresh fruit bowl in the room. Tea and fresh milk in the mini bar fridge. A big fan for warm weather. Big windows all around the room to see the beautiful mountain and ocean views. I will now not stay anywhere else except for Tranquility when I go to the Muizenberg/Fish Hoek/Simon's Town area.I've recommended it to everyone since landing back home.I rate Tranquility a 10 out of 10.I loved the kind hosts, especially Desiree!Thank-you for such a relaxing stay. 5 nights honestly felt like 2 weeks.I could not say enough about my stay at Tranquility. It was one of my best stays in Cape Town ever and I've been there a few times a year for my whole life.Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! :)

The tranquility was the last stop (2 nights) of our South African holiday, we had travelled from Knysna to Fish Hoek, with various stops along the way to whale watch so were both tired and ready for a nice cup of tea. We arrived at the Tranquility Guest House to be greeted by Desiree! What a total joy from the start, such a lovely lady who made you feel welcome from the moment you got to the door, we had a cup of tea and chatted about our holiday! It was like going to visit a dear friend, we felt like we were home. The guest house is incredible! Luxury, warm, welcoming and magical! The views from the front and back are magnificent. Our first night was beautiful! Waking up in the morning, going for breakfast was a total dream! Desiree had decorated the table exquisitely! I felt like a child on Christmas morning, the biggest smile on my face! Desiree was so very hospitable, the food was so scrumptious, I told myself that I didn’t want to leave! We eat and chatted with Desiree and her family for a while, which was great!!! We had a great day in Simons Town and Cape Point! got back to Tranquility to another warm welcome and genuine interest in how our day was! I really really love this guest house! So onto the finer details! The bedroom we had was exquisite, the pillows were super soft and the bed was heavenly! The bathroom did not disappoint, clean, bright, large and the most beautiful toiletries provided oh and the towels were to die for! So soft!!!! Pure luxury! The dining area was also a complete joy! Desiree puts her heart and soul into the placing and decorating of it! The breakfast was splendid with an array of fruits, cereals, yoghurt, pancakes, scones and the most delicious honey!! There’s the most wonderful view from the back, sunloungers available next to the jacuzzi! I said it earlier, but this place is magical! We will most definitely be staying here again! Central place, 15 mins from Simons Town, 40 mins from V&A Waterfront, 1hr 20 mins from Hermanus for whale watching and around 30 mins to Cape Point, all by car! So you may have heard from the news about the water crisis in SA, this is something that did not impact on our holiday at all! Yes the dam levels are not up to full capacity, but don’t let this stop you from visiting this amazing country and this sublime accommodation.

It is rare to find a place where the reality you encounter is even better than the awesome pictures on the website. This is exactly what happened to us over the three days we spent at Tranquility Guest House. Attention to detail; beautiful fresh flowers everywhere; exquisite bed linen with hand-embroidered cushions and laundry bag; sunny, bright and spacious room with crystal-clean windows, warm wooden floors and staircases abound with matching furniture ... and then you arrive for breakfast and the fantastic experience continues ... beautifully laid table once again with fresh flowers everywhere; simply delicious food beautifully presented, with different menu each day; we ate ourselves silly so that we couldn't even fit lunch in! And what made everything so good, on top of the beauty around us, was the warm hospitality and stimulating conversation from the Tranquility team as well as overseas guests.
A truly unforgettable three days of sheer luxury and beauty.
We will be back, and back again. This is the only place we will stay in Cape Town on all our future visits.

We were so lucky to live here, it's very nice house, we love it very much, very cosy, we felt spoiled, the breakfast is very delicious, and many options, personally I like the porridge with honey very much:)Since our journey to Cape Town was casual, we didn't make any plan before arrive here, so every morning after the breakfast, We made decision according to Desiree's suggestion, Desiree was so helpful and friendly, like family members. And during our last night stay, we attended the family party, Desiree, Gill, Ron, Yon.....This was one of the most memorable experiences in my life. Thank you, all. I do believe I'll come back here for my next trip.

I had a late arrival at Tranquility Guest House, Desiree and her family couldn't been more nice. The rooms have a perfect view for the bay, where you can see the whales in the right season. Everything clean and very cozy. Highly recommend and be looking forward to return with my family, this time for holidays.

What a pleasure pit stop in what felt like a home away from home. It was so refreshing to be welcomed and looked after by such friendly beautiful people. I will not hesitate to return should I ever need to over night in the Fish hoek area again. I felt sad upon leaving this magical space and wish I could have stayed longer. The attention to detail at this get away is outstanding and is a must for any nature lover.... And I haven't even started about breakfast, which was intimate, so beautifully presented, homely and delicious. I can't thank Tranquility enough for hosting me. I was showered with nothing but love and excellent service . You can feel how much heart and soul has been poured into this guest house. Thank you for sharing this precious gem with me.

It was because of the water shortage that we went to Tranquility Guest House at all, since our usual stay with family was not possible, and the stay was a total joy ! The house is situated high up, with magnificent views of Fish Hoek, the sea, and distant mountains. From the moment we arrived, Desiree, the manager, made us feel truly at home. We chose the Rose Room, on the lower level of the residential part of the house, which has an extremely comfortable double bed, and is also furnished with a sofa, easy chairs & small table. This room has its own kitchenette, with electric cooker & microwave which was so useful for the occasional night in, in front of the multi channel TV. Friends, who had stayed before spoke of the legendary breakfasts served each morning, and they were not wrong. There were an amazing selection of cereals, muesli, yoghurt, muffins, toast, conserves, but not forgetting the wonderful cooked breakfast to order. Fresh flowers are a great feature, both in our room and at the breakfast table. With water saving in mind, we were encouraged to use the shower rather than bath in our "en suite", and soon found that it is entirely possible to have a perfectly effective shower without using excessive water. In fact, after a couple of days, we didn't think of water as an issue. Desiree carries out the day to day running with a warmth and enthusiasm that made our stay so delightful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. On our last day she downloaded our boarding passes, and even rang the airline to change our seats. She is a star ! We shall see our family in future, but Tranquility is where we shall be staying.
