Our room was well equipped, spacious, and leading onto a balcony with a magnificent view. The garden leads directly onto the mountain and is a birders paradise. We had a wonderful time identifying a vairety of sun and sugar birds. The highlight of our visit was our first ever sighting of a Porcupine. Our hosts went out of their way to cater for our dietry requirements. Needless to say, our breakfast was delicious. We will definately return.

I enjoyed staying at Tranquility Guest House a lot. The hosts were amazing, warm, caring and very welcoming. The house and the room was very well looked after and there was so much attention to detail. Breakfast was amazing too. Just can recommend everyone to stay at this place, which is situated directly at the foot of the mountain. Very good value for money.

Excellent breakfast, very kind host and of course tranquil!
We stayed two-times in the Tranquility Guesthouse during our journey thru the Western Cape. And we will surely come back on our next stay in the Cape Town region.

The biggest compliment I can give this establishment is; "It feels like home!". The hosts/owners are Jan and Bonny Vat, who welcomed me like a family member and made me feel at home. The room had all the required amenities and was cleaned to perfection, adorned with beautiful artwork by Bonny herself. The breakfasts were prepared by Jan and was delicious, with freshly baked cheese scone (daily), apple and banana muffins and crumpets, topped by the best homemade apricot jam, strawberry jam and marmalade. If you love crispy bacon, this is the guesthouse to stay at. Jan and Bonny knows Fish Hoek and the surrounding areas very well and gave excellent advice on restaurants and site seeing! Highly recommended!

The views are amongst the most majestic combination piff mountain and sea.
It is so conveniently situated... close to restaurants and other shopping amenities. There is a huge mall nearby with all three major banks.
Some of thre Cape's best known tourist spots are within 40 minutes from the guest house. Cape Point, Boulder's, thre famous penguin colony, Hour Bay, a woking fishing harbor, which also offers boat rides to fo deal spotting, tKirstenbosch botanical gardens, the famous Chapman's Peak drive and the iconic Table Mountain.

From arrival to check-out, Jan, Bonnie, Alice and the girls made me feel so at home. At check-in, I was greeted with the wonderful smell of freshly-baked muffins - a delight for a weary soul - served with great coffee on a pretty tray in my room with spectacular views over the bay. The rooms are beautiful and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Breakfast was a feast - even though I was the only guest for two nights (low season and rainy) they prepared the most delicious home-cooked hot breakfasts with seasonal fruit salad, yoghurt etc, as if it was no trouble at all. Thank you, Jan and Bonnie, for your hospitality, your time, your chats and the delicious baked goodies. xx

We spent the last night of a 2 week trip to South Africa here, and had a perfect stay. The house is very charming, with great views from the balconies and rooms on the bay. We had great talks with Jan and Bonnie, and heard a lot of interesting stories. Just to show how great they are.. they knew when we checked out, we would visit Simon's Town before heading off to the airport, and when they found an e-reader in the bedroom, and they were not successful reaching us by phone (our fault) they drove to Simon's Town and were able to locate us at a local restaurant to bring the e-reader back. Super people, we highly recommend this guest house!

From the first reception on Jan, Bonnie and the girls made us feel very much at home, we being severely spoilt with a diligent variation of breakfasts, having delightful conversation througout and provision of a plenitude of tips and information on their part. Well recommended for a stay. Very enjoyable view across the bay from the balcony as well!
