Tranquility, a Cape cod-style mountain retreat filled with light and laughter affords soaring views over False Bay and surrounding mountains. Whether you awake to extraordinary sunrises, eat delicious food, linger by the fireside, walk to the beach or relax in the Jacuzzi, Tranquility has it all... Oh, we forgot to mention superb breakfasts, fresh flowers, fine linen, free Wireless internet access and warm South African hospitality. Tranquility is situated just 40 km's south of Cape Town and nestles between two mountains and two oceans along the False Bay coast. Surrounded by beautiful beaches and nature reserves, Tranquility is centrally disposed to Cape Town's tourist attractions and the quaint villages of Muizenberg, Kalk Bay, Simonstown, Scarborough, Kommetjie, Noordhoek and Hout Bay as well as the Constantia vineyards and Cape Point. Come away and smell the salt in the air, feel the sand between your toes and breathe in the fresh mountain air ... simply perfection!

What a wonderful location with views of the sea and mountain behind. And wonderful hosts - Jan and Bonny were so welcoming and attentive and worked hard to give us a great stay. The Rose Room was very comfortable with great views and the breakfast was totally delicious. We would definitely return.

We had a wonderful & relaxing time celebrating our wedding anniversary at Tranquility Guest House. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating and the accommodation very comfortable. After waking up to bird song, we soaked in the stunning views from our balcony while enjoying coffee. The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. We'll definitely be back.

I have stayed at Tranquility many times over the years, appreciating the wonderful location and friendly welcome I've always received. I had heard that it had changed hands before my last stay, so was delighted when received the same exceptional quality of care that I'd been used to.
The rooms are light and airy, with wonderful views across the valley to the mountain and Fish Hook bay. It's an easy 20 mins' walk to the beach which is one of the most pleasant in South Africa. If you have a car, all the major tourist destinations of the Cape are readily accessible.
This is one of my favourite places in the world to stay. Go and discover it for yourself.

The location, setting and magnificent views are exactly what a tired soul needs. We came, relaxed, were well fed and left refreshed, ready to plan or next break at Tranquility. The breakfast was superb... so good that we often skipped lunch!

It was amazing. The room was "top shelf"spacious. Clean comfortable with breathtaking views." Tranquility" the name perfectly chosen for the atmosphere. The breakfasts were mouth watering everything home baked and made just the way we like it. A service "second to none". A hospitality "one has to experience". It shows how much you all "love what you do"

Set about 30 minutes outside Cape Town city, this B and B was set in an excellent location with outstanding views across the southern oceans and mountains. Upon arrival, it looked like a steep climb up the drive would put you off but once inside, the accommodation was beyond reproach. The facilities left nothing to be desired and the standards of the room were exceptional. Not good for those with disabilities given the high location and the number of stairs in the property, but the rooms were stunning to say the least. The family who run the B and B were exceptionally helpful and willing and able to provide local advice such as restaurants, taxis etc but perhaps the most striking feature if this establishment is the building's elegance and very high standards of cleanliness, furnishings and ambiance. The breakfast was overwhelming in choice. If you were an active traveller (as I was) you even got a sense of wishing you could spend more time in the building relaxing. The bathroom was a little small but more than made up for the high quality of finishings. You will need a car staying here or be prepared to rely on taxis and the nearby railway service to Cape Town, but this is the perfect location for being in between Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope. I will return.

We spent the weekend of the Cape Argus cycle ride here. We've been to Cape Town many times, but this was our first stay in Fish Hoek.
I spent most of the weekend feeling very smug that I'd found this great place to stay on Trip Advisor. A very friendly welcome, great location and a really amazing breakfast (we took the cheese muffin recipe with us!) Rosie was a bonus and came with us on a couple of walks.
We had the mountain view room with a nice deck to sit and drink wine and stare at the stars. Next time we're having a sea view, but all the rooms look lovely.
Probably the best place we've stayed in SA - looking forward to next month!

I cannot praise this little guesthouse highly enough, and would go so far as to say that their hospitality and guesthouse is actually faultless. Although we were only able to stay one night, we were made to feel like long lost friends. Even before we arrived, we were heartened by the exceptionally friendly correspondence. Ron and Gill even thoughtfully suggested that we allow them to book us a table at a restaurant as we were staying for Valentines Day and it was bound to be busy - and blimey, was their recommendation good!

The stunningly decorated breakfast table will be forever more imprinted on our memory... such attention to detail. And the food itself was delicious! (I had to kick my boyfriend under the table to remind him of his manners and not to go back for third helpings.)

Our South African adventure really was our dream holiday and it was fitting that we spent our final evening in the dream guesthouse.

Thank you so much.

Great guesthouse with wonderful hosts, where we received a very warm welcome, accompanied by hot muffins! Our room was delightfully furnished, with a lovely view of the bay. The breakfast was sumptuous and delicious. Highly recommended.
