Pros: steps from beach, only place on this pretty little beach till they finish sixth sense (a reaaally expensive place I think they destroyed some mangroves for). Clean and comfy, includes sea kayaks and paddle boards, pretty good food, probably the best service we experienced on island (and that’s a tough bar since they were all great) Cons: there were ants (which we didn’t say anything about-just chalked up to the location), water never really very hot (again, not a big deal for us-content with a lukewarm shower) Who should stay there: people who like quaint little out of the way places, who don’t mind not having a pool, who want the fewest steps to a nice beach. A little story: we showed up sweating bullets and asked the woman there to show us rooms just in case (long story) and she said we can check out whenever we liked as next day no one was checking in. She also said we could just use one if the rooms to shower, change, put our stuff somewhere, etc even if we didn’t stay at no charge! We didn’t take her up on either but thought that was so nice of her.…
I loved my stay! Great place to forget about everything and just rest. Wonderful small hotel next to a quite beach. Almost nobody there. Staff is awesome. They greeted me by name almost since I got there. I stayed in a big room at the main house. No AC but there's no need. I was perfectly ok. Bed is comfortable, good bathroom, wifi worked well. Food is good though more options would be welcome if you stay for several days. Price is unbeatable. I hope to come back!
We've stayed at the wonderful La Sagesse several times initially because of its close proximity to Grenada Marine boatyard where we kept our boat for 5 years. They offer free courtesy lifts every day allowing us to work on our boat then return for a lovely evening meal and breakfast before the start of another day. We loved waking up to the sound of the waves plus the birdsong in the tropical gardens. Like Paradise. Your troubles just melt away and you relax body and mind. Firstly I must say that Sammy who manages the hotel is AMAZING. So efficient and helpful in every way possible with a fabulous smile. The owners Mike and Lynn are caring and personable yet professional. Being a boutique hotel they can spend a little time with the guests to make sure that their needs are met. Nothing is too much trouble. All the loyal staff do a fantastic job with such ease. We will miss this place so much as we are taking our boat back to the UK but if we return to Grenada, La Sagesse will be top of our list. Like coming home to see family. Thanks guys for going such a great job. Xx Pauline and Sean Clarke on yacht May.…
My daughter and I vacationed at La Sagesse throughout her childhood and recently returned after 18 years. It was every bit as beautiful and charming as we remembered. The owners and staff are very warm and friendly, the beach is gorgeous, the restaurant is delightful. We felt immediately that we had come home and have already planned our return.
This should be a six star hotel. It has everything I love. Warm welcome like you’ve come home, natural staff who are polite snd interested and interesting too, delicious food, snd then the view ! Best sleep ever
A beautiful resort on a beautiful island! The secret of this resort is its rare combination of native charm and creature comforts. Above all, the charm is due to the fantastic attitude of all the staff. As one small example, the print out of our PCR test result was brought to our table while having lunch without being asked. The staff sincerely try and put themselves in our shoes and anticipate what we might need. A big hat tip to Caroline, Sammy, Wendy, Rachael, John, Michael and all the others for their constant attentive care. One thing that is unique about this hotel is the sense that the staff are part of one big family. None of this would matter if the place itself was not appealing. From my perspective, guests at La Sagesse get the best of both worlds. The hotel does not have the commercial atmosphere associated with Grand Anse Bay on the one hand. On the other hand, it is not afflicted by the Sargasso seaweed that affects some of Grenada's more rugged Atlantic beaches. The food in the restaurant is delicious. It is built around the relationships that the owners have formed with local suppliers. You truly feel you are eating the best that the Caribbean has to offer. Hats off to owners Mike and Lynn! They make bouncing back from Covid look easy!…
We have been coming to La Sagesse for many years. It is just the place we need to hide from the world. In fact, 2019 when the world was closed, we came to La Sagesse as the Grenadian government's strict rules on Covid-19 made it a safe place to visit. La Sagesse was our refuge. There is not a lot of glitz but has lots of glamour. The owners and the staff become like family almost immediately. The beach is excellent. The food is excellent with all the freshest fish and vegetables. Walks with owners are great exercise to say the least. Rum punches served by John or Wendy will be just what you need when you return. I would like to thank the entire staff for years of continual great serve.
This is a wonderful small hotel and restaurant on a small bay with a nice beach in front. Owners Mike and Lynn and the entire staff went out o their way to help up have a good stay and accommodate our requests. We could hear the ocean all night from our room, and Mike and Lynn showed us some trails we could walk out to points on the ocean for great views. The hotel and beach were very laid back when we were there. The restaurant has great food and saved us from having to drive at night on the Grenadian roads, which is something that probably should be avoided. This place is all we are looking for in a Caribbean island hotel, and if we go back to Grenada we will certainly stay here again. The only negative to this site is a large hotel that is being built about a half a mile away across the bay. We could hear no noise from it and did not pay any attention to it after a few days. When it is all finished it would not be a detraction for us.…
When we booked our accommodation to Grenada we had to choose a Pure Safe hotel that was approved by the government. We opted for La Sagesse as we had stayed there 8 times in the past so we knew what to expect & were hoping it had the same friendly welcoming ambience. We chos to stay in one of the rooms in the duplex cottage at the end of the hotel’s accommodation because of it’s superior outside space & excellent overhead solid shade. Although the rooms do not have A/C the sea breeze & fan keep you cool. The room also had a small fridge & we were provided with a tea kettle. The restaurant was very close to the sea & the food was of very good quality, reasonably priced & our requests were responded to flexibly. We can recommend the fruit plate & 2 eggs scrambled for breakfast, the boneless beef roti (big enough to share for 2) for lunch & any of the fish dishes for the evening meal. The beach was clean & loungers were available to guests. Sometimes due to heavy rain the small river that runs into the bay carries into the sea a few sticks & branches which can make getting into the water a little bit less easy at times but not impossible. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.…
Touring around the south side of the island. We had considered staying at la Sagesse. Having now seen it and enjoyed a perfectly delicious lunch looking out over the beach and the lovely bay I think we would have loved it here. ..................................................................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,...........................
