One of the best hotels on the island, certainly if you are on the Azores to hike and explore the island. In that case, the hotel offers nice pools and a wonderful Spa to recover from your hiking performances. I took a 1 hour full body massage (70 euros), which was worth every Euro. I kindly recommend Jozefa, healing & magic hands! Hotel is brand new and some final work needs to be done (no sauna yet on 8 September 2019) but that won't spoil the overall excellent experience. Very friendly staff (sometimes still a bit uneasy, so cute). One minor point for improvement: I ordered a Caesar salad for lunch which was tasty but a really disappointing portion. I suggest you charge 5 euros extra and double the quantity. and oh yes, the room (Street View) was really quiet and it had a super comfortable double bed : we slept like in heaven. Isn't that one of the key criteria of a good vacation : ocean-deep sleep?! And the marvelous breakfast was the cherry on top (tip: go early to avoid the crowd... The restaurant is cosy but it's hard to handle big crowds then, obviously) Applause for this new gem on the island!…
Hotel is situated right next to a beach and the sunsets were amazing. I’d definitely recommend staying on the ocean side as they have balconies where you can enjoy right from your own (not-so-private) space. In addition, great location to drive anywhere (which you do a lot on the island). We were always able to find a parking spot (free), but it did seem to get pretty full and I don’t know what they plan to do with overflow. The staff was friendly, no complaints there. The outdoor pool was nice although the water seemed a little green. Not sure if that was intended...it’s also not a true infinity pool like they have in the model photos. Wait service at the pool was spotty. A waiter would come out, take one group’s order, leave, bring their drinks back, and then disappear again. Did not visit everyone poolside. We walked down to the beach one day-that area was still under construction but I assume this will be a real path once the hotel is complete. The beach was fine, but a little graffiti and garbage to deal with. The room was nice enough. I never understand why hotels have glass doors in bathrooms but seems pretty standard in Europe so we have learned to deal. They also had some loose toiletries but mostly the multifunctional soap/shampoo dispenser attached to the wall. For a “5 star hotel,” not great quality, but bath robes were plush. The room had USB ports which was a nice touch and the bed was comfy. The windows were floor to ceiling and our room was on the first floor, five feet from the pool-for any privacy we had to keep curtains closed and go outside to enjoy the view. Breakfast was standard, and long line for the coffee maker each morning. Did not eat at the restaurant for dinner so can’t comment on that. The bar had a nice selection and was reasonably priced. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but it’s definitely not worth the price they intend to charge when it’s complete. And “5 star” should used loosely when describing, but it gets the job done if you want a new hotel with pool and beach access. If I could rate 3.5/5, that’d be my final answer.…
The hotel is very close (200 meters) to the ocean/beach so you can watch the surfers from your balcony or at meal time from their restaurant. The pool is great and also allows perfect views of the ocean! As the hotel is brand new, everything is in absolutely perfect condition. The meals/drinks are a little expensive though...…
The staff at this hotel truly provide 5 star service . They are friendly and attentive . They will make your stay more enjoyable . The location is solid next to many restaurants and the ocean. The breakfast had every option you could expect from a breakfast . We enjoyed our stay and will likely try their sister property next year . For reference, some of the other reviews did touch on valid points but overblown . Below are a couple things to just keep expectations in line : -the hotel is still under construction and so you may hear hammering noise for a couple more months . But the staff will tell the builders to stop and/or move you to another room. - there are two barren plots of land between the ocean and hotel . Not sure what’s up with that but I imagine it’s something they have plans for later .…
Simply excellent. We are quite demanding and reading all the unfair reviews we were afraid to come here, even thought of cancelling. However now we are here extremely positively surprised 😲! All is perfect, the food is amazing, the pools and view really stunning, the staff so nice and helpful as nowhere else we have experienced and the location is perfect. If you hesitate because of bad reviews - do not! They are unfair and from people with bad mood who exaggerate;) Ok I agree the landscape can be organized a bit, but apart from that it is amazing :) We have super relaxing and nice holidays :) !…
