We have just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks at Villa De Leva. As a family of 8 ( age range 11 to 82 ) we found the perfect oasis at Villa De Leva from which to explore beautiful Modica and the surrounding area. Thank you to our gracious hosts Signore Tina and Daniela who were always available to answer any questions we had and impart local knowledge. We arrived to find some welcome essentials like water, fruit juice, coffee and delicious home made apricot conserve - these were much appreciated. The houses Villa di Anna and Villa Verde are lovely and spacious and provided all the comfort we required. Two grandparents have mobility challenges and had no issue at all. We particularly adored the beautiful gardens and the large pool was perfect for those relaxing days between sightseeing trips. The many gorgeous trees provided ample shade from the midday sun and we loved the bird song too! So peaceful. A short walk from the house are many shops, bakeries and a not to forget Bar Rosy for the lemon granite! Within 5 mins by car are supermarkets and shopping centres. Modica centre is less than 10 mins by car and the coast 15-20 mins max. Worth a 40 mins drive back to the gulf of Noto and Marzamemi and the beach at San Lorenzo with its white sand and carribean like crystal clear waters. We'll be back. Arrivederci!

As a family with a 3 year old, this was the perfect holiday location for us.

Sicily is beautiful, friendly and full of places to visit. We spent half of our days at the villa and the remaining ones exploring the east of the island.

Modica is only five minutes drive away and has plenty of good restaurants and interesting sites, from the two cathedrals to panoramic views.

The stone built villa is very authentic in style with a terrace that we used every morning and evening. The de Leva family were faultless hosts. Daniella gave us lots of local knowledge - which was invaluable. While Anna, Tina and Marcella always checked everything was as we hoped without being intrusive.

There are three villas around the de Leva courtyard but we rarely saw anyone else. We had the well proportioned pool to ourselves on most days. The gardens are charming and provide welcome shelter should you wish to get some respite from the Sicilian summer!

We stayed at Villa De Leva's family lodge for 10 days this June. The family lodge consists of 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen living area and seating for 8 on the covered outside terrace. The lodge is set to one side of a courtyard in an extensive well maintained wooded garden with an elaborate paved herb garden and large private swimming pool. There are two other rental apartments and the large villa is inhabited by the De Leva family. We were immediately enchanted by Villa De Leva when we arrived at the electric gates to the property and drove up the drive through the beautiful gardens. The lodge is very comfortable, clean and very well maintained. The De Leva family are accommodating and friendly folk, on hand to help if required. Villa De Leva is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful city of Modica, a UNESCO world heritage site and famous for its chocolate. We could not have had a nicer holiday.
