Masseria Ceratonia is a renovated centuries-old manor farm house close to Gallipoli but nestled peacefully amongst its own olive groves on a quiet country road. The renovation is impeccable, from fabulous beds and light lineny sheets (to cope with the July heat) to cleverly designed bathrooms, ample and beautiful indoor and outdoor living spaces and a stunning pool. At the same time, it was a comfortable and welcoming environment for our large and multi-generational family group. A great place to relax and also a great base for exploring Puglia. The staff, led by the incomparable Badri, couldn't do enough for us (even washing out laundry at no extra cost!). Highly recommended.

We were a large family group (19) staying in the Maseria for a week. The setting and the sense of space are just stunning as well as the rooms and swimming pool. Badri the concierge makes everything simple « no problem », from setting up the tables to pumping up the bikes. The maseria is very close (by car or bike) to Gallipoli, its lovely old city and its surrounding beaches. A great place to explore the region.

We booked the suite capelli. Struggle between 3-4 stars, maybe I'm being unfair by 3 and not 4. First, the pros: -The people who worked there very very nice and helpful to anything we requested -Beautiful pool with olive groves surrounding the property -New so feels very clean - We didn't take advantage of the suite but if you wanted to cook something small there was a nice kitchenette - Staff recommended good places to dine. They recommended a restaurant that we loved. Now the cons: -The place we felt was totally overpriced at 340 euros per night. We have stayed at a lot of other masserie on this trip of higher standards and lower cost all in the Puglia region. It was high season and we booked last minute but this was nonetheless not worth it in our opinion. -A bit of an odd set up as there is no where to dine on property and it is a good 10 minute drive at night to the town to dine on some winding roads near the highway. ---This may be unique our situation but we didn't have hot water for a full night or next day. Granted, to their credit when mentioning it at checkout we were given a 40 euro discount off our bill and they asked we hadn't mentioned anything during the stay (which was true, mostly because I didn't know until the next day the hot water hadn't worked for my husband since he had not mentioned it).

We had a great stay with our family. The service was absolutely fantastic with the hosts caring for our needs. They arranged meals etc when we wanted to stay in. If you want to experience Puglia this is a great base for it.

We (. Family with small kids) did book Masseria Ceratonia one year ahead of our holidays via booking.com On the day of our arrival we phoned Ceratonia if we could check in earlier then the whole story started. Masseria Ceratonia told us that they never received our reservation, so we phoned booking.com and they informed us that they have received our reservation and excepted this. booking.com can see this from their system. So the lady (Giuglia) from Masseria Ceratonia however did not except our reservation. So what do with small kids thinking your holidays are well scheduled. We booked Masseria Ceratonia for one week for around 1200 euro (already expensive). However Giuglia had the guts to ask 2400 euro for this week ( the double ) we refused this but at the end we did not many alternatives in July. So at the end we decided to renegotiate the prize with Masseria Ceratonia and we paid 1628 euro. In our opinion this is completely unrespectfull to us and also to Booking.com. These people knew exactly we did book via Booking.com and then try to make more money out of the deal. Very very bad which gave us a very bad taste in th mouth for the entire week. Therefore I would like to warn all travelers for this sort of tricks. So avoid this place and deal with people who not lie like this uunrespectfull couple did to our family.
