Devnadi, the modern day "Sagar Ganga Resort," is primarily a boutique property with 8 rooms focusing on the history of the city of gods. It used to be the Queen of Nepal's holiday home and then went on to be taken over by Padam Shri Ramanand Sagar ji where he wrote the "Ramayan" and "Jai Shri Gange". The hotel has the biggest Private Ghat and a Shiva Temple on it. The interiors to the wall paints have been well thought through and take you back to the ancient times. Devnadi is not about luxury, it’s about a ride to heritage and history draped in comfort. "Devnadi" was originally built almost 150 years ago. The boutique hotel is a perfect amalgamation of yesterday and today. The interiors to the wall paints have been well thought through and take you back to the ancient times. The brass fixtures, lamps and lighting of each rooms in the property pulls you to yesterday and the Jaipur pinks and royal shades give you a stunning walk around heritage each day, every day!

Our family of 10 enjoyed the stay. The hotel is a perfect mixture of heritage vibe with modern amenities. The staff and manger Surabh are very helpful & cordial. The private ghat with mandir made our holy trip memorable, the pandit ji is very helpful and conduct holy ceremonies with finesses. There is a paid parking available 50 meters near the hotel. Tuktuk or e-rickshaw are easily available. The food is average but one can explore the local food joints at the city center.

I have come up the hard way I life so have been to plenty of places which could be termed as shady as best, cause couldn’t afford anything better. Then times changed and the Internet was born, time of learning from experiences of others(I.e.ratings),and despite being told otherwise didn’t believe that ratings could be bought to such an extent that an absurd experience could be rated as one of the best ones.I still refuse to believe that the above mentioned place is any better than a Dharamshala that charges you less than 1k.The chefs(people who have slogged all their lives to earn the title should cringe),guys who are not fit enough to go any better than chopping vegetables should be given this title.Attending staff is helpful though not trained well, cleanliness is not high on the management’s agenda and the kitchen should in all probability be shut down asap.Owner should spend the money allocated to buy the ratings on training his staff better and I believe the ratings will follow.Prioritise the training of the kitchen staff first.

I booked the hotel after seeing all the positive reviews on make my trip and TripAdvisor. But I found it very different from the reviews. Cleanliness was a major issue. I had booked two rooms and both were unclean. Floor was sticky, toilet in one of the rooms was stained and one ghat room had a musty, damp smell. They're really living upto their name of heritage hotel because everything apart from the toilets is actually heritage only. Beds are rotting away, doors and windows squeak, and even the A/Cs are heritage. Bed linens were also dirty especially the extra bedding linens were extra smelly and dirty. Since it was 10 in the night there was no point in creating a fuss. The mattresses themselves were so bad that no one could sleep. My father had to sleep on floor because their unsupportive mattresses caused him a back ache in the middle of the night. In addition to all this, the lift wasn't working. I went there with my grandpa who is 81 years old and still these people didn't have any decency to start operating the lift. The rooms are quite basic although they carry a 5 start price tag. Despite a 5 star price tag you get a -1 star service. Tata sky wasn't working in either of the rooms. Had to call them up. In one room, they changed the box but it kept showing that it will deactivate tonight. In the other they were ready with another excuse that a monkey bit off tata sky wire. We were already 2.5 hrs late for check-in but they hadn't been ready with our rooms. Opened one room only on our arrival and took almost an additional 1 hr to hand over the second. All of us kept wondering what were they doing in the morning since I had confirmed our arrival over the phone. The checkout time although is fixed at 11 am and I was told why that is, quite emphatically I must add, because othe rooms have to be cleaned before arrival of the next guests. So what went wrong in our case? Whatever it maybe, the price of the hotel isn't justified at all. The staff looks polite but when they're lacking in even basic actions what will you do with all the politeness? 1 star only because of its ghat location. Nothing else. Trip date - 28/8/2021-29/8/2021 Rooms booked - Ghat room + balcony room Number of guests - 5
