Paje by night is an amazing place. The hostel has a beautiful garden, a swimming pool and a nice restaurant where you can taste delicious food (including a perfect breakfast). All the staff is super nice and very helpful. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and clean. There is a non-cash-carrying system which is very comfortable and the possibility of refilling your bottle of water is great to reduce the plastic use on the island. besides all this, the best thing about Paje by night are the Yoga lessons! Dikla is an amazing person and teacher who will help you to reconnect with your inner self and to enjoy your practise with an open heart every morning and evening. The hostel has also an incredible service of relaxive and therapeutic massages. All in all it was a beautiful and unforgettable week in Paje by night.

A little set back from the often windy but breathtakingly beautiful Paje beach, this is a friendly little oasis of calm, filled with flowers, trees and the occasional monkey. Fresh local fruit and seafood and Italian owners make for great food, cocktails and even a decent wine offering.

People stay here for weeks or even months for the challenging but highly rewarding ashtanga vinyasa classes, led by Dikla, who will push and inspire you in equal measure. Even beginners or long-time low-level yogis will see a big jump in your abilities, confidence and understanding of this kind of yoga over a week or so. I cannot recommend Dikla’s classes highly enough and would love to go back for a longer stay.

I also cannot praise enough the in-house massage therapist, who offers a variety of fabulous treatments in a breezy little cupola in the grounds.

Rooms are comfortable and clean; it can get hot and humid, so plump for air conditioning if you think it might interfere with your sleep. As well as the main restaurant, there’s also a little (separate) beach bar, a five minute walk away, which is a pleasant place to enjoy a cocktail and stare at the ocean.

This hotel is a few steps from the Paje beach and has a hidden, rustic feel. A quaint pool, scattered hammocks in a lush green garden frequented by the endemic colobus monkeys adds to the charm. We were in the jungle room 1 - quaint 2 storied room. The beds in the rooms were left with ornate designs : We wanted to see what surprise awaited us each day. The complementary breakfast felt pure and sumptuous. Don't expect everything to be spick and span in the rooms, it's enough but not a 5 star feel. The mesh around the fan was broken at places etc. But this place does not strive for a 5 star feel I feel a bit intentionally. It exudes an earthen, heart warming appeal. We loved it.

Paje by Night is a stunning boutique small resort set slightly away from the beach at Paje. The resort itself is made up of c 20 bungalows in a forest setting, open plan bar & restaurant, pool and yoga studio.

I had a king size bungalow which was beautiful - think shabby chic (bare floorboards, minimalist & perfectly formed) with air conditioning which was ideal.

The restaurant was lovely with good quality food at all times of the day.

The highlight for me was the yoga, Dikla is an amazing teacher focused on helping you develop your practise and having fun with it.

The kite surfing facilities are lovely and a great place to relax during the day.

I'd originally planned to stay for a week at Paje by Night, maybe trying three yoga classes, in the end I extended my trip, stayed for three weeks and did 18 classes. I just loved the place, people and most of all the Yoga teacher Dikla.

Paje has a wonderful vibe, an amazing beach and lots of great places to eat and socialise, without feeling harrassed and crowded. Paje by night staff were incredibly helpful, accommodating an early arrival, last minute bookings, transfers, trips, nothing was too much trouble.

My yoga was rusty when I arrived and I was worried about keeping up in class, but please, please give it a try, I was amazed at what I could do after only a few days. I can honestly say that I made more progress in the first week with Dikla than I have in the previous five years of irregular practice.

Dikla runs a rigourous ashtanga vinyasa flow class, and she pushes you, but anyone with an open mind and desire to improve will love this experience. I had the most wonderful time, not just during classes but also chatting at the beach and sharing dinner with Dikla and the other wonderful ladies I met during my time there. I arrived feeling weak, tired and a little bit lost. I left feeling strong and happy, trusting my body and mind again.

What more can you hope for from a yoga holiday? I cant say thank you enough and will be back in March for a top up!

We stayed 3 nights at Paje by Night Hotel. The ocean is just some 50 meters away from the hotel through a small corridor with sand ground. The hotel is made up of a nice garden and small paths inbetween, which gives you the impression of a small village. Very beautiful surroundings.

Our room was nothing special, but we didn't spend much time there anyway, so this was fine. It was clean, had AC, mosquito net, and a bottle of water which was refilled every day. The bathroom was also fine, but the hot water tank was quite small, so for two people you had to take quich showers, if both wanted hot water.

It was nice that the hotel both had a bar and a restaurant in the middle of the area. However, the service was quite lazy, the food just OK, and the drinks not that impressive. While the breakfast was fine, if you had anything sweet on your plate, you would have a small swarm of whasps dining with you within minutes. This made the breakfast experience not so relaxed.

The hotel seemed to have a lot of kite surfer guests, which makes sense in Paje, and I think this hotel is quite optimal for that kind of stay. But for a couple chilling in Paje, the experience was just mediocre.

I almost cried when it came time to depart. This LOVELY collection of bungalows is a 5 minute walk to the beach, and is incredibly well maintained while having a rustic, natural feel. Beautiful plants, trees, lighting adorn the property. The yoga teacher is wonderful, as is the food! I had all but one meal at PBN. The rooms were cleaned every morning and fogged for insects every night. I encountered 0 mosquitos in my room. Also hammocks everywhere! Comfortable pillows on beds, and clean bathroom. If I make it back to Zanzibar, I’d stay there again absolutely. I wouldn’t even look anywhere else. Oh, warm staff as well. 10/10 experience. If I could change anything, it would be the option to have a fridge in the room (I’d pay a bit more for this amenity if it were offered). Thank you PBN!

It was my second visit in Zanzaibar. On my first visit I discovered Paje by Night and was mesmerised by the countryside charm of the entire place. The hotel is a bit away from bitten path which makes him a thoroughly relaxing abode with great food and wine selection. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful garden and has a exquisite swimming pool where you can chill out for hours. Consequently, I booked Paje by Night for the entire stay this time.

Also, I dived myself into ashtanga vinyasa yoga practice with Dikla. This 3-week/ twice a day practice completely changed my awareness of yoga practice. I learned so much, even though I've practiced yoga for several years. Dikla is a challenging but methodical teacher and you can see a systematic progress either you are a beginner or advance yogi. Dikla’s style of teaching is deeply rooted in the traditional ashtanga vinyasa yoga hence she is The Teacher-Mentor which every yogi should meet at least once during their yoga practise path. Not only she deconstructs all postures into tiny details for you but also correct you all the way, so you can see the progress within your own practise day by day. Through the rigorous practise with Dikla, you also learn how to achieve the deepen sensation of present moment and how to even more focus on breathing. It’s also worth to mention that the morning practice it’s just simply mesmerising experience.

Overall, I had the most wonderful time, not just during classes but also because I experienced this unique feeling of yogis community. We were chatting at the beach bar, sharing breakfasts and dinners with Dikla and the other wonderful ladies I met during my time there. Yoga with Dikla empowered me and now I feel strong and happy, trusting my body and mind again especially during those difficult times.

Paje by night is one of the best option at Paje Beach, providing lots of all in one place kind of stay. I stayed at hotel mainly for kite-sufing, but it turned out to be an amazing experience, made lots of nice friends who has same purpose in life, stayed at kite deck of the hotel to have the stunning view of the beach, ate all delicious food local and Italian cuisine. Last but not least the yoga classes at Paje hotel, lead by amazing person Dikla - life changing experience, great start for yoga classes (i had no experience before). If you plan a trip to Zanzibar, must stay place Paje by Night, must meet person is Dikla and start her classes without excuses and further postponing to start yoga and not only. I would highly recomend this magical place with wonderful people in it.

Perfect holiday & happy happy memories! Paje is an all-round destination and simply a dream. The beach is stunning, combined with yoga, kitesurf, awesome parties & like minded people it’s really got a special atmosphere. A particular privilege was meeting Dikla, she is inspiring, super cool, down to earth & a really passionate, highly skilled yoga teacher. This quality of teaching is really special and benefited me tremendously in skills & mindset and has motivated me for much more :)

Greetings from Austria,
Rebecca
