Airport transport:
I got picked up from the airport. The driver was on time, and helped carry all my luggages. Despite arriving late after time for check-in, they were flexible. They made sure that I had every essentials for that night then could check-in in the next morning. The driver also picked me up on time the day I left, and helped with the luggage to the main terminal.

Location & activities:
The hotel is 1hr away from the airport, and located in a tourist/local area so u get the best of both worlds. It is safe, quiet, right by the beach and have a nice restaurant. If you want to explore more of the area, there is possibility to walk by the beach where you can find other restaurants, bars/nightclubs or just simply take this wonderfull walk. I went to see how they make seaweed soaps which the hotel arranged, and bought a couple of soaps. The hotel also offers activity trips(which u pay extra for) to different tourist attractions in Zanzibar, I liked the fact that this can be organised throught the hotel and you get all the informations ther before the trip.

Room + bathroom:
The room and the bathroom are spacious and clean, with access to hot water in the shower and AC in the room. The housekeepers are so kind, they clean the rooms everyday, and come every evening to spray mosquito spray to put out mosquitos. I haven't experienced any mosquitos while staying ther, had even my window open at night.

Food & drinks :
They have a delicious breakfast buffet, with different variety every day. The hotel offers clean drinking water free of charge at any time. As a person who gets quickly dehydrated during the heat, I found this to be a very wonderfull thing.
They have a variety of delicious diner dishes from Italy, Asia and some tanzanian/swahili. The only thing I could wish for is that it could be more of the local dishes(Tanzanian/swahili dishes), also on the dessert part.
They make delicious drinks, their cocktails are really good.

Service:
All hotel staff were extremly kind and service minded. Always checking in with the guests if everything is alright, and always available to help meet every needs. You feel a warm welcome😊.
Special shout out to George and all the restaurant staff😊.

This hotel was our last stop before we return back home. It was another great choice in the area of Bwejju next to Paje beach but not so crowded as the whole area.
From the very first moment before we even arrive to Zanzibar we had very good communication with the Manager of the hotel Giuseppe who also arranged the birthday cake of my friend and the whole celebration.
The hotel was made in two floors and several other rooms around.
The room was very spacious with very good facilites and well placed plugs. There was every day complimentary coffee, tea, sugar and water and also a cattle.
The bathroom was amazing with everyday fresh towels and amenities and everything was so clean. The balcony was small with two wooden chairs and a wooden table.
Pool was great and a good place to chill and relax with a very unique shape but not many chairs for all but hotel had other areas on the shadow to relax,
Breakfast had a very good buffet with many cold, hot and sweet choices every day but staff some times refuse to make eggs which we mentioned to the manager and the issue was fixed.
The area of the breakfast was also a great restaurant during the day with plenty choices of meals and drinks. We had lunch almost everyday and one of the top dishes was the pizza which was made in a wooden oven and it was delicious.
Right in front of the hotel was an amazing very quiet beach and many places to explore and take great photos.
Most of the staff were smiley and helpful always kind and ready to assist. Apart from one receptionist and one maitre in the restaurant which were not so kind and struggling to smile.
Overall was a great stay and value for money. We had amazing time
Great job waiters Anna and Ezra
The Manager Giuseppe and
The owner Ricardo who has made a real hospitality heaven
Thank you all and we will return back soon

We spent a few days at the Sahari with a family of 4 in two double rooms. The hotel is a cosy, beautiful place right at the beach, tucked among other similar beachfront properties in the middle of a local village. The rooms were nice and clean, airconditioning worked perfectly, wifi was very good and reliable for Zanzibar standards. The place is child friendly and animal friendly, with pet cats roaming the grounds.
The hotel restaurant is particularly nice, with great local and Italian dishes (the owner's Italian and a super nice guy), including oven-baked pizza. The staff speaks good English, is friendly and communicative.

We had some minor issues but they were quickly solved, overall a very good stay!

Nice public areas with amazing WIFI throughout, the restaurant had panoramic views over the bay

Lack of service for a four-star hotel, we had to get our own water as none was provided in the room upon arrival (apart from a menacing sign saying we'll be charged for bringing in external food/drinks) nice open public areas, but the rooms felt a little small. 'Sea view' was a bit of a joke, yes you could see the sea through the forest and past the main restaurant, but not from the room.

Breakfast was terrible, yes we arrived at 9am for a 10am cut-off. Were served 3 fruit slices then saw in the corner a breakfast buffet ( I haven't seen a buffet since Covid happened) so were hesitant to say the least. Was less impressed by the empty trays that greeted us, empty eggs, empty beans, empty sausages, empty spinach. No bowels for the cereal. Made ourselves some instant coffee and grabbed all the remaining stale croissants there were, and sat down.

Day 2: got 2x electric shocks off the toaster :(

The pizza was good but said mozzarella on the menu, it’s not mozzarella...

We were given 2x beach towel tokens at reception and informed to collect and return beach towels every day for cleaning. It seemed like the hotel doesn't have enough to go around and was rationing towels out to guests. The towels themselves were bleach stained and a little worse for wear.

There's an abundance of cats around the hotel that also seem to live there so if you like cats great if you don’t or are allergic be warned!

During our stay they were also carrying out some reservations or building an additional room above the bar area next to the pool so there was constant hammering, banging and construction noise throughout the day.

Manager? Spent more time lounging around the bar/lounge/restaurant area in jeans chatting with his mates drinking wine.

Choice of background music for restaurant/bar area: classical? jazz? Beach house music? No! Rap about pimps and hoes? Yes!
Edit: they did manage to rectify the music choice during our stay by switching to Spotify (free version with ad breaks lol)

Could be great but settled for mediocre

kind guest, thank you for your stay, I am amazed by your offenses in the final part, I hope we have misunderstood, if you did not appreciate our hotel we are very sorry thankfully that we are able to satisfy most of our customers, the 4 Dubai stars will never be comparable to that of Zanzibar are 2 different worlds, the beach towels were not stained but faded perhaps by the chlorine of the swimming pool or from the laundry, the breakfast buffet what do you wonder about? We have respected the rules of Zanzibar no restrictions in progress in fact I do not remember having seen you even once with the mask I am amazed at what you wrote! Zanzibar is an island where no lockdowns have been made and luckily it has always remained open, maybe you have come here for this too! The room you took and sea view not facing the sea in fact you saw it through nature the measures are 25 square meters! The manager is on vacation. Did you see the owner with jeans and was it a problem with the jeans or that he drank the wine? I think you exaggerated if you wanted another kind of music you could ask the staff would you be helped! We have enough beach towels to lend you sign because then you have to return them and if we do not do this they are lost and being in Africa there are not many shops where you can buy them again especially in this period where not many supplies arrive! Water is free for everyone! Fill your bottle at the dispenser to limit the use of plastic there is no disposal and we try to reduce the use of plastic bottles! Spotify will pay for it if the advertising has bothered you, even if in reality we have it already but it didn't work and we downloaded another one for music! It was a real pleasure to answer you and have you as our guest. Best regards

We landed in Zanzibar on the 9th of Dec, and my partner and I stayed at Sahari for 4 days - The food was delicious and great value for money. There is a private beach area in front of the hotel if you want to swim in the ocean. Word of caution - Check the tides in the morning. Often times, the beach is riddled with a lot of seaweed. The property is located within a village area, so there are many locals walking throughout the day. They are friendly people but often times, they will try to sell you tours.

The kitchen/bar closes at 10 pm, so late-night drinks are not really possible.

Sahari Zanzibar is the most wonderful place in Bwejuu.
As for food, The hotel has such a wonderful restaurant with perfect Italian, Indian and Swahili cuisine specialties (specially Italian).
The hotel is very close to a local Swahili seafood restaurant.

As for the hotel itself, Sahari Zanzibar is picture perfect with FANTASTIC DECORATIONS and a very, very beautiful pool, and it's DIRECTLY on the beach.
The staff is extremely friendly and gives a lot of thought and extreme care about the comfort and satisfaction of the customers, which is very rare to find these days!

The hotel is directly on the beach, on the sand, but offers a lot of privacy which is very very important in Zanzibar due to the over-friendly locals. So it's the perfect place to relax in a vacation.
Adding to that,
The hotel is only a small walking distance from paje, so you can enjoy the local experience in paje, but with the privilege of privacy in Bwejuu, and the hotel organizes any trips you would like to do.

I highly recommend! It deserves to be the number one hotel in Zanzibar!

This is a nice little hotel with a good location on the east side of Zanzibar. It is small enough that you get personal attention from the staff. The manager was very new when we were there, so there was some small things that did not work perfect, but he was really working hard to get it himself and the staff up to speed so I think it will become very good. God food at the restaurant, comfy and nice rooms and a lot of places outside you can relax, both outside the room, in common areas, around the pool or on the beach. It takes 20-30 min to walk down the beach to Paje where there are more shops and restaurants. Paje is also a popular place for kitesurfing, both if you already know how to or want to learn.
I would stay at this hotel again without any hesitation.

The best holiday ever! We stayed here for 2 weeks to enjoy our holiday. We loved every single piece of it!

The restaurant crew is amazing! They are always interested in you and want to make you feel at home. The chefs are good as well, amazing food and the dinner specials are something extra!

Michelangelo organizes trips, and we loved it! Everything was well organized and he wants you to be happy! So go and talk with him to create your perfect tour!

The rooms are super clean and the cleaning ladies are always friendly an doing their best. They spray every night anti mosquito to make sure you don’t have mosquitos in your room.

The reception is helpfull and want to help you with everything you need!

The pool area is super relaxing and it’s right on the beach. They have more than enough beds / relaxing areas! It’s in walking distance from Paje. The location is good.

Thank you for the amazing stay Sahari

We stayed at Sahari for 4 nights during our honeymoon and had a great experience. We had started our trip with gorilla trekking, safari, and exploring busy Stone Town, so by the time we got to Bwejuu, all we wanted to do was relax. Sahari was perfect for just that. The staff was gracious, and we enjoyed long days of lounging by the pool and out facing the beach reading and napping. The staff was friendly but unobtrusive. We booked one of their superior rooms and as the other reviews mention, there isnt much of an ocean view, but it really doesnt matter. The room was no-frills but very comfortable and we appreciated the AC and mosquito net. The bathroom/shower was pretty dark and it would've been nice to have more toiletries, but otherwise we were very content. The food at the restaurant was quite good and diverse. As others note, the pizza and pasta were great. Highly recommend staying at Sahari and spending most of your time lounging. We ventured down the beach to Paje for an afternoon which was fun, and also had the hotel driver take us up to the Rock for lunch one day. If you're looking for lots of activity or serious luxury, look elsewhere, but this was a perfect low-key relaxing ending to an otherwise adventurous trip.

The hotel is designed with so much love in every detail. It is located directly at the beautiful white sands beach and you just have the feeling of being able to reach the indian ocean from your room. The staff is so nice and friendly. Especially the Giuseppe, the hotel manager, gives you the feeling of being very much welcomed. Also the waiters were super friendly. Because of the Corona pandamic, there were no other guests except one other lady, which made our stay very unique.
You have a lot of space. Everything is very clean and safe. An ideal place to relax and get a break from everyday life.
Sahari Zanzibar is a must when you visit this paradise island!
