This is truly paradise! I strongly advise the all Premium or the Premium Exclusive to truly enjoy the paradise, otherwise you pay for every other meal. There are 5 restaurants and 4 of them are à la carte with great food. There are 2 pools, a well-equipped gym, sauna and other activities; there is plenty to do and diverse activities at night. The beach is great and the restaurant there is delightful whatever your preference, fish of the day or pizza from the oven. Everyone is friendly and helpful and nothing is overlooked here. The shuttle bus is actually a 7-seater van and they keep time. One word of caution: if you want to visit many places, then consider that it is 40km from Stone Town and this might make trips costly. If you want R&R, this is the best place to be.

The resort tops the Zanzibar hotels. The resort is very big and it is just next to the road unlike many others must drive through narrow/dusty dumpy roads in order to reach the hotels. It is right at the Gabi beach with its beautiful beach. Guests are able to enjoy the walk while the sea is at its low tide. Its different restaurants are all very good both in terms of taste/quality & services. The resort is beautifully built, functional. Its decorations reflect the local Zanzibar spirit. The beach front suit is roomy, cozy and everything works. I like the coconut/lime soap & shampoo.

This place is just amazing - we already visited many hotels on earth, but Melià Zanzibar is the best place we've ever stayed at! We felt the friendliness of every single staff member from the moment we arrived there. Salome explained everything perfectly during the check-in process and we immediately felt like home (but with a much nicer surrounding!) - our bungalow (with ocean view) was astonishing - clean, big and lovely decorated with flowers. The staff at the infinity pool (with a breathtaking view over the ocean) and at Gabi Beach always took care that we have enough to drink - I only remember a few names like Witness, Jenipher, Lilian, Ritha, their friendliness is just heartwarming! The food at every place was so good - at the Jetty, at the Spice Restaurant, at the Pool Bar and at Gabi Beach. One day, Khatibu took us for a village walk - he explained the life in the village so well and interesting, it was just an unbelievable experience to see the life in the village and the school there. All in all: we will always remember this one week as one of the best weeks in our life! Asante sana to the whole team! We will surely come back!

Our stay in Meliã Zanzibar was again excellent. We have been coming back here every year since 2012 and every year we see changes, improvements even though every previous stay has been the best ever for us. The staff and management are very friendly and infinitely helpful. Every day the question is asked if everything is ok, if something can be done for us ... we would not know what else could be done ... we are pampered from early in the morning to late at night. Our room in the Level was spacious and tidy and it was wonderful to watch the sunrise from our bed every morning. Our favorite restaurant is Gabi beach, Chef Arjun & Chef Alan as well as their entire team are TOP with creative culinary delights and excellent service every day. The other restaurants are also very good, currently with fixed menus, perhaps due to the lower occupancy in the hotel due to Covid-19. Hopefully the tapas formula will return in the Jetty. At the pool, Benna made sure that we, sunbathers as we are, took in enough fluids. After barely 2 days she knew our habits and we were served without any hint. We have again enjoyed 2 weeks the hospitality, friendliness and warmth (literally and figuratively) of our dear friends at Meliã Zanzibar. For us it is like coming home, but with a much more luxurious life… because here we only laze, put our feet under the table, meals are prepared, our bed is made, and the room is neatly cleaned... briefly... life in paradise. We don't want to mention any other names because we would forget somebody and that is not correct as really everyone, from the gardeners to top management, is super sweet and extremely helpful. A big thumbs up for everyone. And YES, we'll go back.
