Travellers' Choice
Situated on Zanzibar’s picturesque North East coast overlooking the turquoise Indian Ocean, it is as the name suggests, a little piece of paradise. From your arrival at Zanzibar Airport, the resort is a meandering 45-minute journey through un-spoilt scenery, passing typical African villages where the way of life has changed little for hundreds of years. At Ocean Paradise Resort & Spa, you will be greeted by a blaze of colors as you sweep down the imposing driveway passing through the entrance gate. You will be captivated as you arrive in the reception to discover a view over the resort and the azure blue sea. Mature coconut palms swinging in the breeze, white sandy beach, beautiful landscaped gardens, traditional style round chalets with pitched makuti roof, a stunning waterfall feature and one of the largest swimming pools in Zanzibar are just some of the sights that await you. A big smile and the greeting of “Jambo” will be the first words you hear, as you begin to feel the warmth that the people of Zanzibar are famed for.

We absolutely loved our 5 days here over New Year! The staff was very friendly and the hotel is clean and spacious. The food was wonderful, we particularly enjoyed the themed buffet nights. We stayed in one of the huts by the beach and it was, cute, private, and well maintained! I was really upset when I had to come home

The whole resort is breathtaking!!! The moment you look over from the reception you can already feel how amazing the whole place is. Let alone that, the rooms are spectacular!!! They always make different towel animals on your bed. I always look forward to that...I stayed for over a week and I witnessed so many amazing towel animals. The venue for breakfast is just to die for!!! Stunning views all around!!! Spa therapists are astounding specially Maureen and Mary!!! Last but not the least...staff are extraordinary!!! So very accommodating, warm and welcoming. I also appreciated the fact that the whole resort heavily practiced COVID precautions.

We had one of the most extraordinary experiences at this resort. We were there during mid-September 2020 and the resort was not at all busy and staff was more than happy to see us. Beach area is divided in 2, the public part and the private part. The private part was always protected by staff and from what we could gather from a walk on the beach is not the case of all hotel/resort in the area. Staff made sure we were treated like royalties, arranging special stuff at every turn (diner all alone on top of the fountain, changing the date of the Swahili diner so that we could try it before leaving, etc.). Staff also made sure we were respected in our "privacy", as there was not a lot of customers it would have been easy to always disturb us but they were really respectful but always present if we needed something. Food was always good with a lot of varieties and portions were always huge. Accommodation was clean, recent/well maintained. All the small detail was always taken care of and I cannot recommend this resort enough, if we could we would have double our stay to it enjoys it more!

We had an amazing experience, with a very profesional staff and great food. Is very beautiful hotel with a big swimming pool and with a entrance to an outstanding beach. Finally, I will recommend you this hotel if you want to go to Mnemba athlon and if you want to scuba dive because they have a perfect swimming pool to make a practice if you are a beginner and is quite is easy to go there from this hotel. Thanks a lot to everyone who works there!
