One place for everyone: Mnarani Beach Cottages Zanzibar.
Here you live in apartments, bungalows, or in newly built apartments with terraces facing the sea,  one floor also has a roof terrace with jacuzzi - a floor for celebration etc.
Breakfast and dinner are included in our price, which is affordable considering the proximity to the beach, pool and other restaurants if you are tired of just being here.
WiFi works great, as does air-conditioning👍
We were informed about the beach sellers and that you should be a little careful about doing business with them.
At or around the hotel as well as the hotel beach we had no sellers. Only 500 meters further away, there are opportunities to jaw and bargain on various legal and illegal elements.

Margeret at the front desk is a lovely and humorous woman who makes sure you enjoy your room, etc. She mean It is important to have a good time.
Thank you Daudi, the bartender, who served us all drinks and beer etc., the top guy👍
So alcohol is served here without being messy with young people or loud music. If you go a little further north, there is everything you want there.
There is also arrow throwing and billiards with sea views at the bar.
The restaurant is fresh and airy with a sea view, here you have breakfast, lunch and dinner if you wish.
If you want to activate yourself, there are different types of water sports availableIn addition, thereare the usual snorkeling trips, scubadiving, dolphin trips and
fishing etc.
Wish you all the best

I booked Mnarani beach cottages through Agoda.com and got an amazing deal for 3 people in the deluxe room. I texted the venue and they responded quickly about our needs via whatsapp. The view from the pool and restaurant was gorgeous and there was easy access to the beach. The food and drinks were good and the menu had plenty of variety of options. The beds were soft with mosquito nets and there was a hammock on the balcony. The bathrooms only had shampoo and body soap so bring some conditioner if you need it. Our deal through Agoda.com included breakfast and a set dinner menu (3 courses). I would recommend the beach cottages because of the service, view, and its close proximity to points of interests and activities in Nungwi.

I am a frequent visitor at Mnarani as a Tour Leader and am always impressed by how they maintain the great ambiance !
The apartments and cottages are ideal for individual travellers,small/big groups or even families.....
The freshly prepared meals by the chefs are also something to look forward to.
The location is another big plus....away from Nungwi but just walking distance makes it a great location to relax after exploring what the mainland Tanzania has to offer....

I and ma family a girl and an infact stayed at mnarani beach cottages for 2 nights beginning of June. The hotel was winding up the renovations but the management made sure that we got a very high standard service, the rooms were well kept and the staff went an extra mile to accommodate us. We will definitelybe back again!

We had a very pleasant experience staying at this place. A highly cooperative reservations manager named Margaret who was kind enough to entertain our request for a 4 nights refund on account of our stay being cut short abruptly since new covid travel had come into place back in our country. Overall all staff was very pleasant. Our room was fine although the toilet could have been a little bigger and sharper.
This accommodation itself is set in a quiet corner of Nungwi although in a highly scenic beautiful part of Nungwi.

I had been wanting to come to visit Mnarani for some years as the owner, Nassor is a personal friend of ours. I was welcomed warmly by the experienced staff who explained about the Cottages in great details. I would say that it is the staff that make the place a warm and friendly place to come to. Most of the staff have been there for many years and so it is like they are welcoming you to their home as they take pride in what they are doing and this can be seen in every aspect of the upkeep of the property.
I stayed in Mahaba house, room no 2. A lovely spaceous room with a beautiful bathroom. The ocean views and gardens make for a very restful time indeed.
The Cinnaman Spa offers full body treatments. I had a full body massage and after a day of walking around StoneTown, it took away all my aches and pains.
The food was simple but delicious, like home cooked meals and again the service was great.
If you like water sports, kayaking, sailing and snorkling etc, all these things can be arranged. I visited and swam with the turtles at the Turtle "hospital" next door Mnarani which was quite a treat.
All in all, it was a great stay, although far too short and we will definitely be coming back for a visit in the future.

We loved our 6 days here. Absolutely beautiful views and beach, just so relaxing! The sea water is like stepping in to a bath. Staff always friendly. Room was great, cleaned every day and beautiful fresh flowers sprinkled on the duvet. Never an issue with hot water. No WiFi in rooms and had a few power cuts while we were there but that was not an issue for us. The only thing I would say that could improve would be the food, it was very receptive, especially breakfast and really struggled with being vegetarian as only ever one option. However we would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were impressed with the wonderful service with a smile and immaculate accommodation.
Our room/suite in the new Mahaba house section was huge, brand new and beautifully clean. The bathroom is large with enough shelf space for days. The balcony is great, big enough to do yoga on although I couldn't concentrate very well with those views that change daily. Nice little bit of bird life in the trees there too.

Brilliant caring service from Khamis- the manager.

It is a super safe, clean and peaceful place with a large pool, massive wooden deck, pool table, tv right next to the water.

The prawn dish was my favourite, fresh and tasty and affordable prices.

Daudi at the bar has a ready smile and willing to serve you nice fresh cold drinks.

"Cinnamon Spa" offers full body and beauty treatment and amazing pedicures - my feet have never felt softer.

Its a short walk on the beach at most tides except high tide (you can walk for a couple of minutes through the village at high tide) to all the action at Nungwi about 1.5km on the beach to reach busy baby pub and restaurant.

Walk left to Nungwi and right to a gorgeous sand bank.

The activities booked through Mustafa at the activities desk were always on time and it felt like we had the best captain/skipper on all of our trips.

I highly recommend Mnarani no matter the length of your stay. We were there for almost 3 weeks after a dire experience at another spot further down the beach.

We booked Mnarani for 5 days, and ran away on the second day. They did not refund the money.
The hotel is very dated, and dirty, looks nothing like the pictures.
Spider webs in the room, dirt accumulated in all corners, dirty bed sheets, insects everywhere, absolutely horrendous.
Breakfast is extremely dirty and unhygienic, with bees inside the food, and everything being dirty and disgusting. Food half eaten in the buffet. Everything lying on the buffet dirty and uncared for.
Staff were unhelpful and unfriendly, they did not agree to refund the money.. and we were not the only disappointed customers.
There are many hotels in Nungwi, and I’ve been to Zanzibar several times and stayed in various hotels, this one by far is the worst!
The only nice thing is the beach, but that’s a public beach available everywhere in Nungwi.

We stayed at the bungalow which is great as it is right at the beach, the bed was okay, the AC was a lifesaver as it was really really hot even during the night time. The bathroom however could use some improvement as we didn't feel comfortable enough to shower without our flip flops on.
The staff is great, very welcoming and accommodating, very much enjoyed the massage at the spa there.
