We stayed two nights at the Nungwi Inn in November of 2019. We had a comfortable stay at this basic inn. The rooms were kept clean, the bed was very comfortable, air conditioning and hot water worked to our satisfaction. All rooms were accessible to the beach in minutes by walking. The Inns restaurant sits on the beach...fantastic location. Lots of restaurants in walking distance, local ones with fresh sourced seafood and hotels with great views and more expensive menus. Something for everyone. The Nungwi Inn Restaurant would benefit by reducing it's menu options and specializing in just a few really high end meals, unique to the area. Breakfast is very basic. Lots of interesting vendors on the beach and in town; but it can get tiring after awhile. Be sure to have the right change for beach purchases.

Food very average .when ordering fish ask for medium rare it seems to be over cooked wherever you go.Seaview cottages were lovely with a much welcomed breeze.Only one small mirror in bathroom and one plug behind bed.The bar was expensive. The service in resturant and bar hardly existed was very poor .Went to get my own orders eventually. If you can overlook this the accommodation is good and security on the beach is excellent you do not get hassle by traders all the time and definitely the best beach for swimming

The hotel has the best beach facility in the Nungwi area. Shady tree area is available for an escape from the really hot sun. Beach loungers available. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a/con. Beach towels available. Food is very average. Cocktail drinks are not great. Prices for drinks and food are not the best in the area. Waiter service is poor and slow from the bar area. Security is tight on the hotel on- beach area. Can't be hassled by traders. Nevertheless, it was a worthwhile restful holiday.
Local pubs and restaurants are within close walking distance. They trade only in Shillings.

I felt very happy in this place. All the family enjoyed the holiday and I highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant. The room was cleaned properly every day, my children were treated by staff in a very friendly and caring way. Good for brekfast was always fresh and various. Lunch and dinner for menu was also amazing. Chef was coming all the time to ask us if we like everything. The view at the ocean is without words.. I don’t understand people who put unfair review just because of wi fi .. guys you are in Zanzibar no need to spoil you mood and mood of others.. you came to relax be happy in your vacation. By the way our wi fi was working perfectly and we just asked the staff to give us ticket for 3 hours at once. Thanks a lot to nungwi Inn. We will be back again.

Nungwi Inn was perfect for what I was looking for. A great location and amazing service.

I booked room number 3 which has Seaviews and within 10 seconds my feet were on the soft, white sand. They provide beach beds for guests which is great for long beach days. The view was amazing! The location great for restaurants, bars, markets, scuba diving and boat tours.

Security is there to deter beach boys who do try to sell you tours.

Through my booking I had breakfast included which was a buffet (bacon, croissants, eggs however you like them, fresh fruit, beef sausage etc). Food was good! The restaurant is on the beach. It was beautiful.
Had an amazing stay!
Would definitely recommend!

We had a brilliant time at Nungwi Inn Beach Cottages. We had cottage 2 with a sea view and stayed 5 nights.
The place is beautiful! Whilst some of the reviews mention the rooms being run-down, I was pleasantly surprised - the value for money of this place is amazing compared to the other accommodation we stayed at in Stone Town and Jambiani. The staff were so friendly and always up for helping and making our trip one to remember.

Room Tip: There is only 1 plug socket in the room, so it’s best to bring an adapter with multiple outlets.

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was the best place to stay! Our room was nice, a bit out dated but it had everything we needed and it was clean.

The location of the hotel was perfect, on the beach with their own beach lounge chairs to use. The beach was never affected with the tide whereas other hotels nearby, their beach disappeared with the tide and not many other places had beach lounge chairs to use.

The food was great and the staff was all friendly and accommodating!

Would recommend.

There not enough words to describe our stay in this beautiful hotel. Starting from Reception and personally Sarah, who was super welcome and always helpful! Continue with our room ( we booked sea view, villa 3) and housekeeping daily perfect job! Amazing breakfast ( thank you chef for the best owlet ever and all guys for your caring and smiling faces). And of course Fatma...Fatma and 100 more times Fatma :) she is the star of the Hotel and i can say Zanzibar. Location is amazing, room super clean and cosy, staff very friendly, all what you need ( restaurants, bars, markets, money exchange is 1-2 min a way). I'm already planning my next trip and only in Nungwi Inn Beach Cottages!!

Nungwi Inn has definitely seen better days. The only good thing about the room was the air-conditioner. Other than that NOTHING. Bathroom was terrible. Bed had an old foam mattress that we rolled into the centre all night. Back ache in the morning!

Not a lot to say about it other than there are far better places for the price.

It is rare that I don't see the positives in any hotel/ guesthouse/ hostel that I stay in but unfortunately Nungwi Inn has very little to offer.

Rooms are basic but generally OK however our toilet did not work and whilst they pretended to fix it, it never flushed. There was also little water flow in the taps. In the bar toilet there was no running water at all.

At breakfast I tried to get drinking water and was told the bar did not open till 9am so I couldn't get any drinking water till then.

Breakfast is interesting - they seem to decide each morning what they can be bothered to serve. One day I got one friend egg and one pancake and that was all. They had ran out of milk for coffee and after much huff and puff ING a new carton arrived 20mins later.

Service is disgusting throughout the hotel. The reception staff are downright rude and answer personal mobile phones mid way through asking questions. They also sit there watching TV shows failing to even acknowledge guests. I asked about hiring snorkeling equipment and was told it could be arranged but for a high cost - when I said no he started to barter - clearly this was for his personal gain and honestly I don't expect to barter with a hotel! Some days we could borrow beach towels and other days we was told there was none and the hotel doesn't provide that service despite offering it a day earlier.

The breakfast staff are the worst. They critised us openly right at our side not realising we understood what was being said. When I highlighted that we could hear them they started to laugh at us.

Honestly I would not bother with this place - there are plenty of nice options and you will have a better time elsewhere.

No , there isn't hairdryr in the room . For the power sockets you need a universal adaptor or you can buy in Nungwi village a local adaptor.Sorry for late answer.
