Our stay at Ants Hill with Ant and Tess and all of their terrific helpers made for the most wonderful experience. From the reception until (sadly) having to leave was perfect in every respect. Riding across Africa was the most wonderful experience, the horses were...More
We visited Ant's Nest a year ago now and had a fabulous time. The whole team could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We were there to see the wildlife on horseback which did not disappoint as you can get so much closer. One...More

What a place! Luxury coupled with outstanding staff and wonderful horses. Managed to get close to several species including white rhino. Ant and Tess are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. I'm coming back - absolutely loved it!

Ant's Nest would be a better option of the two (because of the drop-offs reference above) but the pool does not have a fence around it. I found the staff to be very family friendly - we had a 3 and an 8 year old with us. They are very flexible with regard to kids meals, etc. There are outdoor toys to amuse kids with, but you will need to keep an eye on a two year old because of the pool.

I would also say that some places recommendations on tips are quite high, others less so. Ants is on the high side, but that said we tipped on the high side here as they are so lovely. However, I wouldn't go too high on the daily recommendation if you are staying for two weeks,it will prove to be very expensive.
