We stayed at Ants Hill for 2 nights. We are both proficient intermediate riders having done a significant amount of riding in the past but neither of us has ridden here in the UK recently. We went to Ants Hill to experience riding along side the animals not for the riding experience. However having said this riding along side and amongst the animals was an amazing experience with good guiding and horses. The rest of the Ants Hill experience left a lot to be desired. On the arrival afternoon we were unable to ride as we were told all the horses were out and away from the stables. This was surprising as we were expected and a couple of horses could have been kept back. The accommodation is quite reasonable and Eagles Nest had a great view. There was no air conditioning or…
This was the most fabulous experience. The whole stay from beginning to end was beautifully organised and orchestrated. The safari on horseback was very special. We could get so close to the animals and right into the bush. The animals are very relaxed around the horses. The guides were fun and very knowledgeable. All the staff at the lodge were lovely and looked after us so well. The food was delicious and we met some fabulous guests too. Not to be missed
We last visited Ant's in 2012 when our children were aged six and nine; we loved it then and, if anything, it has got even better. This isn't just a holiday, it's an amazing, immersive experience with some of the best people I have ever encountered when travelling. The riding is an obvious draw, with horses to suit all abilities from the complete beginner to the competitive event rider. The wild animals are majestic and their comfort with the horses allows you to get in close proximity without disturbing them. The accommodation is laid out in such a way as to make you feel part of the family home but with enough space for family privacy if that's what you prefer. It's the people who work at Ant's that really make the place special. There are too many to list - and I would…
Upon arrival, it was clear that Ant’s Nest is a special place with great staff and that feeling lasted throughout our entire three night stay. Finding a safari lodge that accepts kids can be tough, but Ant’s Nest goes beyond that and is very inviting to families and children. My daughter is 5 and she’s always been interested in horses, so we truly got the best of everything with a safari experience and got to do it on horseback at times! The horse my daughter rode, Midget, was so gentle for her to ride and the staff made it easy to learn proper techniques. There’s an incredible amount of wildlife on Ant’s property so we got to see everything we wanted during our stay. It was also nice just to lay down and read a book while listening to the birds chirp. My family and I were…
This was our second visit to Ant's so our expectations were high and we wondered whether our previous "holiday of a lifetime" could be matched. We needn't have doubted as we were met with the same friendly welcome as before, the same warm and attentive hospitality and service throughout, luxurious accommodation and amazing food. As so many have reported previously in reviews of Ant's - "nothing seemed too much trouble”. As with our previous trip, the riding was exceptional - varied and exciting. The guides were engaging, entertaining and knowledgable. The quality , variety and preparation of the horses was outstanding and the team went to great lengths to match horses, riders and groups to ensure we all got the best from our rides. Needless to say, our next trip is already…
