We drove in from Madikwe and arrived at about 1430 on a Thursday afternoon. We were met by Jessica who was fantastic over the course of a 24hr fleeting visit.
As our Kosher Food had not arrived in from Jo’burg, she was only too happy to take us to the kitchen where we looked aro

This place either the Nest or Hill are exactly what it says in the brochures and more. The staff were part of what makes the two locations special. Nothing is too much trouble. If these resorts were rated by the same criteria as normal 5 star hotels and resorts they would come ou

This was our first trip to South Africa and I have to admit we were both apprehensive not really knowing what to expect. We needn't have worried. From the moment we were picked up at the airport to the last we were made to feel welcome and "at home". We split our stay between Ant

Everything about Ants Nest was amazing. The horses are lovely, safe yet forward going and know their job very well. The riding is excellent - long fast canters for those more experienced, yet riding to cater for any standard. The accommodation is beautiful as is the food. The tea

Brilliant brilliant trip - we stayed in the family cottage as a group of friends - it was huge, stunning & luxurious. The riding, drives & choice of activities was brilliant - with you being able to do as little or much as you liked. Meal times were fabulous with varied and delic

I have another question. How far is this from Jo-berg? How far is it from Victoria falls? Thanks again for any information.
Yes it's 3 hours from J'berg you can get a transfer if you contact Ants Nest as for Victoria falls not sure best to email Ants direct and they will be able to help.

This place looks amazing. My family doesn't ride but would definitely give it a go. My question is really more geared towards the wildlife. Do you see all the animals... elephants, giraffe, lions, ect? Not necessarily on the horse but on the Jeep safari? Thanks for any help.
You see loads of giraffe, buffalo, snakes, warthogs, rhino etc on site but you have to go off site to a different nearby reserve for the lions & elephants. I didn’t go but e’one who did said it was brilliant. Also without spoiling the surprise there are night safaris with owls and night skies. As a general point this is a really quality run holiday - I would say book it!

Please may I ask, I'm a single female 38 years old looking to do sth exciting for my mid life crisis birthday. I've already decided on Wait a Little for one week and in second week thinking of Ant's lodges. Do you think the riding and lodges would suit me? I'm concerned it may not be exciting enough for me? Also the week I'm looking at is half term so risk I'd be lumped in with children? Any guidance gratefully received!
May i ask that you perhaps send us an email with your proposed dates so we can check what is still available and can also advise how many kids are in camp at the time

Can a 2 year old be safe here? Where could we book a room? Is it full board prices?
Ant's Nest would be a better option of the two (because of the drop-offs reference above) but the pool does not have a fence around it. I found the staff to be very family friendly - we had a 3 and an 8 year old with us. They are very flexible with regard to kids meals, etc. There are outdoor toys to amuse kids with, but you will need to keep an eye on a two year old because of the pool.

Just we before we set off I have a question for all of you who appear to have made Ant's Hill and Nest your second home - how much cash is necessary for two weeks and where to get it and a little guidance on tips...all help welcome..
The only cash you need is to buy gifts in the shop, for extras like massages or if you go off site to the local town. They recommend tips of 150-250 rand per person per night. They don't accept debit cards, and there's a charge for credit cards so best to get rand in the UK before you go, or at an ATM at Jo'burg airport. I took £200 for a week. Enjoy your stay, it's an amazing place :)
