What an amazing experience we had. the staff went out of their way to ensure we feel like royalty. each meal we had at a new location, the one more breathtaking than the other, and one of them under the stars in the bush. The food is delicious!! They even baked us a cake because it was my husband's birthday. We were more than satisfied with the excellent service we received. I strongly recommend this lodge if you want to be wined and dined!! Letitia
This is an incredible place and perfect for small children. Lorraine and the whole team could not be more accommodating. Combine this with the landscape, beautiful home, incredible food etc and you couldn’t find anywhere better. Thank you for another lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks. T
Safari on your bucket list? Staff ♡ Accommodation ♡ Food ♡ Reserve and Ed(guide) - ♡ Walks, drives, breakfast, lunch and dinner were never in same location. ♡ Can't recommend this highly enough. You will not be disappointed
Just spent 3 nights at Jembisa Bush Home on a full board basis. The house is absolutely beautiful. My room the Bird Room triple aspect had a small balcony with views over the beautifully kept gardens. Four poster bed complete with mosquito netting was so comfortable. Large dressing room and bathroom with lovely toiletries. The food is delicious and so much care goes into everything. All the staff are wonderful. Ed our guide was so knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble even taking us star gazing. Our last evening the staff laid on a delicious meal outside with an open fire, candles, lanterns and fairy lights made it absolutely magical. I thought that experience could not be beaten until we were taken for a cook-out breakfast by the river on our last morning. Luxurious full table service, full cooked breakfast followed by lessons in fly fishing! When we were due to drive home my car had even been washed for me! Everything is thought of and catered for including wonderful in-house massage. I cannot wait to return. Thank you Lorraine and the entire team for an unforgettable experience.…
A long weekend well spent! Magari Safari Villa is absolutely beautiful with incredible views, luxurious accommodation and amazing hospitality from management and staff. Our walks through the bush, spotting the wildlife and a game drive across the river - what an experience!! We will definitely be recommending Magari and will be returning to this little piece of heaven as soon as we can. Thank you!!
On a whim, we decided to go up to Jembisa for the Workers Day weekend, not really knowing what to expect. The team at Jembisa exceeded any expectation that we may have had. Lorraine made my mom feel very special and Clayton was always there to do give the kids a special bush experience. Meals were a treat with the bush breakfast and sundowner dinner real highlights - Cliff and David carrying it off in a subtle and unobtrusive way. Nothing was ever too much, even setting up a study table on the viewing desk where my wife could get some peace and quiet to study for her upcoming exams. When my son left his toiletries bag behind, Andre took it through to Modimolle to get it couriered back to us. These are truly exceptional people. We had great game viewing on the drives and bike rides (on their bikes) with the privilege of seeing eland, rooikat and civet in addition to a wide variety of antelope and the ubiquitous giraffe. We were able to do a lot more in the bush and on our own because it is not a Big Five reserve.…
In April we celebrated our wedding anniversary at Jembisa - 12 members of our European family flew in for the occasion making our total group size 15 . The amazing (flexible) staff ensured we enjoyed an unforgettable 4-night stay filled with: fantastic food, attention to detail (from little gifts upon arrival, chocolate bunnies for the kids for Easter, wonderfully decorative table settings), fun activities (zip-lining, bush walks, game drives, bush lunches, camping out at night, to name a few), fun things for the kids to do like baking cookies and tracking tuition, stunning sun-downers, incredibly knowledgeable rangers who taught us about the little intricacies of the bush ensuring we came away with a new appreciation for nature.... I could go on and on. Overall 5-star service. Jembisa truly is a little piece of SA bush paradise and there is no question we will visit again soon.…
My wife, my parents in law and uncle in law spent a long weekend at Magari Bush Lodge. We don't have enough words to describe this wonderful, outstanding experience. It was well beyond our expectations. The site is just astonishing with endless views and impressive surroundings; the rooms we stayed at were super clean and have impressive viewing decks; and the people (Ed, Marinnette, David, Cliff...) were just amazing. We had a surprise each single day (lunch in the middle of the bush, a boma dinner, breakfast by the river, evening gin-tonics also in the middle of the river, dinner at the viewing deck...), not a single day without an amazing surprise that made our day. Of course, luxury at its best in every corner, including the food and the wine, but the most remarkable part is the people attending you here. They will make you feel at home, yet super discrete and always trying to make you feel special. With us, they indeed made it happen. Two of my family members were over 80 years old (actually we celebrated the 80s birthday of one of them right there!), so it was great to learn that all the staff is trained on First Aid and that the manager (Ed) is actually a paramedic. For the elderly, this is just an additional thing to add to the amazing rest of things. We will FOR SURE come back, next time with friends. Pure magic!…
We have just returned from a truly outstanding 3-day immersive getaway for an executive team based at Jembisa. As a facilitator, I was looking for a venue able to provide a corporate team with a truly memorable relaxed bush-based experience far removed from the run of the mill usual conference center type environment. Jembisa was selected as the venue and this week exceeded our expectations in being able to provide the perfect place for a truly unique and transformative team adventure!! Highlights included: - Professionalism, responsiveness, and incredible flexibility of the entire Jembisa team from beginning to end - Magical settings for the team to reconnect including sundowner drinks stops, bush breakfast in an idyllic setting under a tree on a riverbank, sunrise walk to the peaceful viewpoint, and lantern-lit dinners under big starry skies - Rangers were able to skillfully share stories of the surroundings in a way that was memorable and gave food for thought that we then used in sessions for the team to consider their own business as an eco-system - Huge vistas at Magari lodge the perfect backdrop to unlocking creativity and vision of future - Spaces to relax and replenish energy on the verandah, by poolside, in the hammock, or on mountain bikes leg stretching rides - Delicious meals each served in a different location - Flexibility the property provides of accommodation for smaller or bigger team groups We were blown away by the quality of the experience and the thought and care given to each and every aspect of our stay. For the team, the time at Jembisa was truly transformative and brought a greater level of connection, alignment, and pure joy at being able to have fun and share in a wilderness adventure together. Such is the magic of Jembisa that as facilitators we felt we couldn't leave before booking dates into the diary for the next one! We are counting down the days till we return to share this piece of paradise with another team. Hoping on this next trip to be able to do a sleep out under the stars....…
We had the most wonderful time at Jembisa! We were celebrating a significant birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary and Jembisa so spoilt us. There were four of us there as our two daughters were able to come up for the 5 days. The accommodation, meals and whole environment were delightful - 5 star service at every turn! We loved the game drives and Ed (our ranger) had a tremendous knowledge of the bush, so we were really able to learn about every part of the world around us. I can thoroughly recommend staying at the Lodge, particularly if it's a special occasion that one wants to celebrate. The staff were fantastic and my only complaint is that we were fed too well!
