What a fantastic trip. Can't talk highly enough of the staff, facilities and tours At Lion Lodge. How good was Louie, Sam (number 1 but really Louie was) and Casper on our days out on safari. The food was just amazingly cooked by Johnny. The staff were just awesome, our rooms were cleaned every day by the time we went back to them, the gardners kept the surroundings so neat and tidy. Booked through Trip A Deal. Great tour on the way to the Park and another one on the way back to the airport. We had an absolute ball with the 23 Aussies we were with.

Wow! What an amazing experience. Fantastic Safari drives and guide… thank you Sam! We are number 1! 😂 We saw so much wildlife in their natural habitats!! Absolutely beautiful staff… thanks to Given and Joyce in the bar, Hilda and Johnny our awesome chefs who delivered mouth watering meals! This has been one of the best holidays we have been fortunate enough to do! Highly recommend Sebatana Private Reserve with Trip A Deal! Loved it!

Amazing service from all the staff, we cannot speak highly enough of the experience they all created. Great animal sightings at both this reserve and surrounding parks. Bungalows are very comfortable and well kept. We booked with trip a deal, I would recommend doing the extra activities to get the very best experience.

The lodge was pristine clean and the gardens kept beautifully. The food and hospitality were excellent. Our room was clean and spacious and the beds very comfortable. There is reverse cycle air conditioning which made for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was old but clean. The rooms got tidied every day and we left spotless. The tour guides were great as well.

A wonderful experience. Accommodation better than expected . Lodge staff excellent , and Safari guides were fun and enthusiastic . Fellow travellers all good company and happy to be there ! Day trips to big 5 parks were very special and Sebatana activities aimed to provide variety and interest . We sighted over 30 different species of animals and birds from Aardvark to Zebra , including lion , cheetah, elephants , rhino , giraffe . Excellent value for money !

Fantastic lodge, very picturesque with animals roaming everywhere throughout the grounds. Safari guides where very friendly and helpful plus the rest of staff members that looked after us where all so happy never a frown. Food was great 22 meals in a week, felt like they where fattening us up to feed the lions on safari.

Just back from a wonderful trip a deal at Sebatana Reserve We did all the tours some a little disappointing but overall an amazing experience. We didn’t manage to see male lions or any of the cats but the Rhinos and Giraffes were in abundance. Food at the lodge was extremely good and plentiful. Staff were amazing. We had Jacob for the majority of the time a very caring and knowledgeable guide. The rooms were comfortable, some a little tired, 3 small rooms and a couple of big rooms and it seemed the luck of the draw as to which room you got. We went as a group of 7, had 2 small rooms with no fridge, one of the group paid an upgrade and the other just a stand and ended up with a huge room with a lounge area and full bar fridge. Don’t expect much sleep as there are many early mornings. Take warm clothes for the early morning starts .

Can highly recommend a stay at Lion Lodge, Sebatana Reserve. Rooms were comfortable, although could do with a makeover. Food was plentiful and beautifully presented. Especially enjoyed the Bush Brunch. Staff were lovely and our guides were informative. Great job Layla, Louis and Jacob. Although we missed out on seeing a lion, we came away extremely satisfied with the overall experience. Look out for a reasonable package on Trip a Deal. Only slight negative was the cost of drinks, which were paid for in Euros. Even so, a memorable holiday.

I could rate this place anywhere between poor and excellent in same report. While traveling as a couple, we were on a tour group out of Australia where 24 of you become friends over the 1 - 2 week period. It was made clear upon arrival if you wanted the full experience, it was going to cost you plenty above what we had already paid and for some absolutely bizarre reasoning, they wanted to be paid in Euro's (regardless of Manager's reasoning which made zero sense) For the 2 of us this amounted to around 800 EURO's. This gave us tours to other properties and quite frankly, some were excellent, while the biggest and most looked forward to place, Pilensburg Reserve some were poor - the tour guide talked himself up but did not provide - as this was a 3 hour drive just to get there, a totally wasted very expensive day. Tours around SABATANA where conducted by Antonia and the head guide at Sabatana who was generally excellent with the exception of the night safari which was a waste of time exercise finishing very late. ROOMS - Wildly different so go the upgrade room which we did as it cost from memory about AUD $100 extra and that gave us plenty of space plus a fridge - many of the rooms were half our size and did not have a fridge which is something you want..... Worthwhile mentioning rooms do not have TV or even Wifi - Wifi is only available in a small common area and that alone suggests this place CANNOT give itself a 5 star rating when they could easily rectify this. Lots of wildlife wondering around where monkeys and baboons constantly "challenging you" so need to take care to leave your room locked as 1 of the rooms was trashed by monkeys MEALS - Excellent on all counts. Can't talk highly enough of this aspect. Special trips/Nights - Tribal night simply outstanding and a lot of fun had at Sunset Rock where Champayne was in abundance. POOR - Being asked to tip in Euro's which was in different aspects including when checking out to even tip the "groundsman, maintenance people and other backroom staff" a considerable amount.

The staff and accommodation was excellent. Vegetarian meals catered for but fetta cheese is not to everyone's taste. Quiet, relaxing, exciting. I had one day illness and everyone from kitchen to management were concerned and helpful. If you're looking for entertainment like home. No TV, nor Radio but generous wifi, and the baboons are great fun to watch as is star gazing. Pack your bathers as spa and pool available. Very well maintained, very well catered, sometimes too much food. A great time away from modern distractions.
