We had the opportunity to return for a weekend breakaway and returned to Olievenhoutsrus. We found this guest-farm such a pleasure. We were welcomed back as friends and both Sandra and Delmar were gracious hosts, We stayed in a new upgraded room and my son was accommodated in his own room. The farm is well stocked with bushveld animals and the condition of the veld shows a carefully curated wildlife management practice, I can most definitely recommend this guest-farm to anyone that wants a quality breakaway!

We stayed three days at Olievenhoutsrus. The place is very well equiped for a family with children in the age of 3, 6 and 9. Nice pool, trampoline, game-farm where you can walk around. The owner helped us to arrange a good game-drive in a park nearby and they made delcious and healthy dinners on request. But most of all the friendly staff made it a nice place to stay.

Our family enjoyed a lovely long weekend stay at Olievenhoutsrus. The Lalapanzi cottage was comfortable and furnished with a lovely mix of old and new furniture. We enjoyed the extra upstairs room overlooking the watering hole and being able to watch the game coming down in the evening. Our two sons (7&4) kept themselves entertained with the tree swing, trampoline, table tennis and even managed a quick swim in the pool! We all enjoyed the walks around the farm. Sandra and her family and staff were really welcoming (as the many positive TripAdvisor reviews suggested)! The farm is a short drive from Vaalwater where we enjoyed delicious lunch and coffee stops at Le Fleur and Seringa Cafe. The Black Mamba shop in the complex with the Spar contains a tempting collection of African crafts, definitely worth a stop!

What an incredible place! Set down a short sandy road we found a little oasis. Our 2-bedroom cottage had everything we needed for a short family break. Set in its own private, fenced garden it was a short walk to the sparkling pool and communal boma. Sandra the owner was super friendly and helpful. Zachariah the farm manager took us on a wonderful sunset game drive - we saw giraffes, zebra, buck, wildebeest, ostriches. Highly recommended! We'll be back!

Thank you Sandra and everyone else for being such great and accommodating hosts. We were a group of 9 and had a great relaxing weekend away. The accommodation is great and our Labradors loved the space they had to run around at our cottage. We did a game drive, had the boma going for an evening and just relaxed by the side of the pool. A great getaway from the city and we will definitely be back!

Very nice location and friendly staff. The perfect place for relaxing and watching animals like giraffe, zebra, gnu and ostrich right behind your accomodation. Although we have missed to book a breakfast in advance we've got a very good one served in the morning.

With a family of 5 we traveled in Limpopo. We pre booked several different lodges of which one was not that nice so we looked for an alternative and found Olievenhoutsrus close to Vaalwater. We were very pleased with this great, very last moment alternative. Our host were excellent making sure we had a good time. Also a big compliment for their flexibility to accommodate us at the very last moment. The brain facilities are excellent, the swimming pool is really nice and my daughters loved the horseback safari ride.

This is definitely a hidden gem. We visited Olievenhoutsrus Game Farm as a group of friends celebrating a special occasion. The owners are most hospitable and made us all feel at home and went out of their way to ensure we are comfortable and looked after. We were able to enjoy the game, the bush, the sparkling pool and the accommodation was well maintained and equipped. We will most definitely be back for a further visit to this Hidden Gem.

We happened onto Olievenhoutrus because we were running late for the border. It was a great place to stay. Sandra was very welcoming and everything was perfect especially considering we were a late booking. The chalet had everything we needed and more. Cosy and beautifully presented. We had a gorgeous breakfast on the outside patio - felt like we were in the middle of the bush. I would recommend Olievenhoutrus even just for a weekend break. Sandra and Delmar thank you for being just wonderful hosts and assisting me. Hope to next time come with my family.
