Excellent service and location on Waikiki beach. Only downsides were the washroom size and Swell pool wine cost (choose a cocktail). Kids need to see the huge aquarium in the lobby. Nearby restaurants that are great are Mamosan (sticky ribs the best) and ShoreFyre on Koa street a block away for breakfast (try Loco Moko). Wouk’s recommend to all.

Room Tip: Don’t get a glass of wine at the Swell pool (cocktails are cheaper by $6). Be aware the washrooms...

Hotel's Favourite
The location of the 'Alohilani was absolutely stunning, perfect, and easy for beach access, shopping, and dining. I loved we were able to take advantage of the partnership with Beach Candy so we could have complimentary rentals of things like coolers and floats for the beach. There were a few too many kids in the pool and hot tub, and it would have been a better experience if there were adult-only hours for the hot tub after 7pm. It was hard to enjoy Champagne and a romantic experience with little kids jumping in and screaming. The front desk was very nice and accommodating, and went out of their way with recommendations from everything as off-resort breakfast and nail salons. I was never able to get the concierge on the phone, but there was a texting service that was helpful. The rooms were fantastic- clean, with comfy cozy bedding and lovely Japanese-style toilet/bidets. We stayed for three nights and it was a way better experience than our previous five days at airbnb's. Absolutely lovely.

We loved staying at this resort. The facilities are great, the pool and bar areas are amazing and you have everything on your doorstep. We utilised the Longboard Club for breakfast and afternoon drinks and this added a touch of luxury to our stay.

The best part of the 'alohilani Resort is its location. From the hotel itself, you are right in front of the best surfing spot on Waikiki beach and within walking distance to the International Marketplace, Kapiolani Park and right outside is a McDonald's and Starbucks. The worst part of our experience was with the description of the room. Like it was mentioned many times before (I should have read TripAdvisor more thoroughly before booking), the "Ocean View" room is 30% of a view. We didn't even make it past the door of the room because it was clear that this was not going to have a view. Our original room faced directly into another building and the ocean was only visible if you went out onto the balcony and stretched your neck to see a little bit of blue water. The best part of all this was the staff. When we went downstairs and explained that this room was nowhere near what we expected, the front desk agents quickly started looking for options. She presented us with either an Oceanfront View or Seascape View. The Oceanfront View was the more expensive option and the balcony faces Waikiki beach straight on. We ended up taking the Seascape View as it was a little more removed from the boardwalk as it does get noisy. This was the best. We had a clear view of Diamondhead and of the ocean from our bed. If we come to Oahu again, that is exactly what we are going to ask for. It was around $80 more per night but in our opinion, it was worth it. We were on our Honeymoon and it was our first trip since COVID so we wanted to do things in the best ways possible. My biggest complaint for the resort itself has to do with being able to contact anyone. I tried calling the front desk multiple times and no one ever picked up but when I walked into the hotel, there were 6 people on staff not helping anyone so I'm not sure why no one picks up the phone. I also tried calling concierge and there's never anyone there. I also tried calling maintenance because the shower knob broke off the first time I tried to use the shower and no one picked up so I had to go downstairs and wait at the front desk to have them call maintenance directly. We did arrive a little earlier than the check in so the front desk told us they would call me when the room was ready since it would be ready in a couple hours. Like I said, I called multiple times to try to get an update and no one picked up. We just came back to the hotel at 3pm since we never received a call.

This was the first time me and wife took a trip without the kids and this place was awesome. Erin, our host at the swell pool bar was the best. Not only did she recommend great resturants but her service was second to none. She made us feel at home from the second we arrived. The live music and scenery was the best. Will definitely be staying here for our future trips and hopefully Erin is still around. Siaki & Sunshine
