Travellers' Choice

The Paniolo is a charming boutique Honolulu hotel located on Waikiki’s “Upper West Side” where you will find an abundance of restaurants, easy access to one of the world’s largest shopping malls, a quick stroll to the beach and gorgeous sunset views. This Honolulu Hotel is Waikiki’s only “North Shore connection,” as the ownership company also manages a magnificent 100-acre stretch of completely unspoiled beachfront property along O‘ahu’s North Shore. This is the home of the Hawai‘i Polo Club where polo matches, polo lessons and spectacular trail rides become available to hotel guests. We encourage our guests to make the beautiful drive to the hotel’s sister property on the North Shore for a day of riding, picnicking, swimming or beachcombing.

The Paniolo Bar & Cafe is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Get an early start with hand-crafted artisan coffee and pastries served from morning till noon. Come back for happy hour with creative cocktails and drinks at night. Enjoy live music every Friday starting at 6:00 pm.

I ended up making a few reservations here thanks to the kindness and hospitality of the staff. A special thank you to Yulia for making my stay extraordinary, she had great recommendations, made great snax and drinks at the "paniolo" a bar and Cafe located on site and was overall just so friendly and inviting to the solo traveler. Another special thanks to Dana, who kept me on constant supply of delicious speciality coffee! My room was clean, the hotel is charming and family owned, and it's location is exceptional. 5 stars and i will be visiting again :)

Hotel's Favourite
Great hotel, friendLy staff, clean spacious rooms, small pool on prem. Near Ala Moana beach and the shore. I’d def stay again. Good Covid protocols in place, house keeping as needed. Might not be great for little kids, but teens and adults are good. Limited food at the bar, but there is an ABC a few doors down that has everything you need.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet, and comfortable beds. Our room opened on to a 3rd floor balcony with a view of the pool and bar area. This is a unique place to stay, with its nostalgic flavor. The Equus is less than a block from a convenience store, McDonalds, and the bus stop to Pearl Harbor. We also walked about 3 blocks to the beach. It's a very convenient location, and we felt safe in that area. While guests have to walk up a flight of stirs to enter the building, this wasn't a problem for us. April is a great time to visit Hawaii.

The Paniolo Equus was fantastic!!! The room was great for us, and the price was the best we could find of anything in the area. The staff were all incredible! especially sandy. We spent a lot of time at the bar talking to other visitors and Sandy & Allan who were both incredibly nice and fun to hang out with! We will definitely be back here again soon.
