The Paniolo is a charming boutique Honolulu hotel located on Waikiki’s “Upper West Side” where you will find an abundance of restaurants, easy access to one of the world’s largest shopping malls, a quick stroll to the beach and gorgeous sunset views. This Honolulu Hotel is Waikiki’s only “North Shore connection,” as the ownership company also manages a magnificent 100-acre stretch of completely unspoiled beachfront property along O‘ahu’s North Shore. This is the home of the Hawai‘i Polo Club where polo matches, polo lessons and spectacular trail rides become available to hotel guests. We encourage our guests to make the beautiful drive to the hotel’s sister property on the North Shore for a day of riding, picnicking, swimming or beachcombing.
The Paniolo Bar & Cafe is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Get an early start with hand-crafted artisan coffee and pastries served from morning till noon. Come back for happy hour with creative cocktails and drinks at night. Enjoy live music every Friday starting at 6:00 pm.
The location was just perfect as it was between Ala Moana mall and Waikiki beach so everything was with in walking distance. It also came with free parking if you stay longer than a few days. The front counter guy (also bartender) was really nice and very helpful when I was confused with parking and would always greet me whenever I came back to the hotel. Definitely try it if you are a solo traveler or with a partner. Had a great time there!
I can’t emphasize enough how much I loved my stay here at the Paniolo. While the free parking for extended stays and comfy bed ratings drew me in, the charm of a ‘small town’ hotel vibe pulled me in. Huge thanks to Blake and Chad who really go out of their ways to make your stay a great one! I read a lot of reviews before I booked this place and, for once, I 100% agree with everyone that this place is amazing! The location is also so perfect, I felt very central to everything I wanted to do and of course Blake always has some Fire recommendations for things to do on all activity levels. The bar downstairs is really just icing on the cake, great to have a little spot to grab a pre- or post dinner drink. Also, I thought for sure that my room would be noisy, I guess because it’s in the city and so close to so many buildings. But to be honest, it was pretty quite! I rarely sleep as well as I did during my stay here. I will absolutely be staying here the next time I’m in Oahu, and you would be silly to not book this place!! …
This boutique hotel had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is centrally located so we were able to walk many places without having to use our rental car. We made the mistake of upgrading our rental car (at no extra charge) to a Chevy Tahoe because our original preference was not ready. Smaller vehicles are easier to maneuver in Honolulu. However, through Airbnb, our parking was complimentary (most places charge about $30 for parking). Kolette was wonderful and gave us many local tips on places to see and eat. While this is an older hotel, it was clean and comfortable and well priced for hotel in downtown Honolulu.
Everything was great! Only downfall was the VERY limited parking. We booked with you because of the parking but there were two nights we had to search for parking elsewhere which was a bummer. Other than that, price and amenities were exactly what we needed. Bed was super comfy. Had a small fridge, coffee machine and a balcony. AC was blasting when we got in (actually a little too cold for me and couldn't figure out how to keep it off). Chad and Dana working at the bar/cafe were hospitable and welcoming. Always making sure we had everything we needed.
