This was our first family vacation since Covid and it was an unforgettable one. We have family on Oahu so come annually but have never stayed here. We stayed in one of the golf course view rooms and for our golf crazy family it was amazing. Housekeeping was impeccable and truly 5 star. The bathroom in our room was huge and also included a refrigerator and fresh ice was brought in daily. My 13 year old and 19 month old loved the pool and beach areas. We have stayed in Waikiki as well and the Kahala stands out because of the proximity to the beach, the beautiful sand and the service by the team. Pools are salt water which is really nice and the kiddie pool was perfect for our toddler. All beaches in Hawaii are public but because there are not any other hotels nearby it's primarily hotel guests and locals that are in the know. The dolphin lagoon was mesmerizing for both of my kids as well. We didn't have time to do the Dolphin experience but it was a part of our morning to go and visit them and see what they were up to. Breakfast at the Plumeria in the morning was delicious. We did both ala carte and the buffet and the view was breathtaking. The reason to stay here is truly the service. It is 5 star throughout the property, the valet, pool staff, housekeeping and all of the restaurant staff. We will be back!…
Great location, wonderful amenities and dolphins too! Our family of four enjoyed the beach, pool and restaurants. The employees were delightful and helpful. Perfect distance to the city without being in the city and an easy drive to Pearl Harbor. Highly recommend
My wife and I stayed at the Kahala H&R to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We visit Honolulu regularly from the Big Island to celebrate our personal events. This time we wanted to be away from the very busy and crowded Waikiki. The Kahala was perfect. Not a big resort, but felt intimate and relaxing. The restaurants were all fantastic. Delicious food and attentive staff. It was quite windy during our stay, but we swam everyday and spent our afternoon on the beach. We enjoyed massage at the Spa which was clean and relaxing. One morning we took the hotel’s shuttle bus to the Kahala Mall and did a bit of shopping.
The view from the ocean view room is excellent and the room is spacious enough. There is also a turndown service, so you can always spend comfortably. The staff at the Japanese desk are very kind and take the lead in providing various kinds of support. It is a wonderful hotel that I would like to stay again.
When we arrived, they didn’t have double bed as we requested. They were able to find us an upgraded room next day and helped us to move everything when we were out and about. Everyone is super friendly there. My kids were glad that we didn’t stay in the busy Waikiki area. We love the place and will be back for sure!
This was my first trip to Hawaii and it couldn't have been a more beautiful experience. The Kahala is such a stunning property that I could have spent every moment in my hotel room and been over the moon... the view were amazing, the room extra spacious and room service made me feel like I was VIP clientele. However, it was my birthday so we did go out and explore and there's no shortage of things to do: a dolphin experience, a temp control pool that opens onto a gorgeous beach and restaurants with perfect meal choices. I could go on but you really have to take in everything yourself to understand... let's just say, I will be back again and again... and again...
Whilst the Kahala Hotel & Resort is a little "tired" and in need of some well placed upgrade, the service and attitude of the staff in all areas of the hotel is exceptional. Always with a smile, positive "can-do" attitude. I have spent considerable amount of time around the pool and beach and found the staff looking after the pool and beach to be accommodating to all of the guests' need. And they do that with a smile. It has been a total pleasure to be at this resort for 3 weeks. Looking forward to returning soon.
We ended up at the Kahala Resort because we booked late and there were few of our usual cheaper-style accommodations available. How fortunate for us! The facility itself is flawless, but it is the staff which makes the stay unforgettable. One merely has to THINK about needing something, and a staff member shows up (with a sincere smile on their face) to provide it. I was using a wheelchair during our stay (provided by the hotel), and we were able to take it with us to various events, which simplified things greatly. Food, service, gorgeous rooms, all are wonderful, but the porpoises are the icing on the cake. We will sing your praises far and wide.
This place was excellent from the rooms to the food to the bar and pool. Shout out to Preston at front desk and new guy Michael at concierge desk, both fabulous. I highly recommend this resort. The restaurants were also very accommodating, The view from our room of the ocean and beach were the best i have ever seen.
Nice accommodations, but the blinds on the KokoHead window didn’t block out the light and the sliding door that couldn’t open needed washing to get nice view of the outdoors. Was also surprised that ice tea and soft drinks were included in the dinner buffet, but hot tea and coffee were a separate $7-$8 charge! The tea bag was the same complimentary one we had in our hotel room. Otherwise, it was a great staycation at the Kahala Hotel.
