The rooms are extremely clean and we finally didn't have the usual carpets. The bathroom was very small but very clean and had a very special charm, as many details probably date back to the time when the impressive building was built. The elevator is old but reliable. In addition to the exceptional cleanliness, another plus point is that the staff is very friendly. It is also a cheap alternative to the overpriced hotels in the city. Parking in the large hotel car park is also free. We stayed here for one night and felt comfortable.
My tip: try to get room 828 on the 8th floor, because then you have a great view of the Buffalo skyline.
There is a Starbucks right around the corner and a great restaurant a few minutes' walk away: the Teton (very good Asian cuisine and sushi).
Room was on the top floor, which you can take the sole elevator to get there... though I felt like the elevator would stop working at any moment. The room was large but sparse in the aesthetics and coziness department. I didn't try the WiFi so can't comment on that. TV worked, hot water in the shower worked. Bed was sufficient for one night. Though our one night there was quiet, you could hear the neighbors a little, so walls must be on the thinner side.
Parking available for free in their lot.
Location was good, very close to public transportation.
Stayed here because it was cheap and I only needed one night. Go in with your expectations set and you'll be fine.
There is no hotel in the world who dare to receive tourist' room charge although the client have not used their hotel room.
I sincerely warn all tourists and travellers not to use this hotel when you travel to Buffalo NY.
Requests for a luggage rack unheeded. Microwave did not work except to beep, no cups for coffee and when I did get one it was not replaced with a clean one.
I have the almost best for last while seated getting ready for bed a cockroach ran across my shoe. So I check out and on my way to another hotel I find not one but TWO BED BUGS. Do not go here. This grand old lady is not grand ANY more.
As a former Buffalo resident I came back on a quick business trip and found that an old friend was working for the new ownership and asked me to stay at the hotel. Being funny ,I made a crack about the place which is in line with what you have read above.
Let me tell all of you that this can not be farther from the truth. The Lenox, while not yet back to the grand lady she once was is well on her way. The rooms have been totaly remodeled and the new restaurant is becoming a place for locals as well as guests to meet. You can see the changes and feel the new attitude from the Lenox employee's. So everyone needs to give this place another chance. I don't know who bought it or who is behind what must be a huge expense but if you believe in Buffalo and it's rebirth these folks are well on the way to making what was once one of the grandest addresses in the city for overnight guests grand again. So give it a chance.
efficient, however that is when it all ended.
BEWARE, this hotel is a dump, I was given a room with wind blowing in throught the window the carpet was filfthy the drapes were ripped and hanging
off the walls, the bathroom was dirty and would certianly not pass any local
health codes.
I sat on the bed(which was also terrible ) I quickly realized that this hotel could
easily have bugs or worse.
I can not believe that the place is still open, I cheched out within 10 minutes.
The staff credited my card which I appreciate but even if I had to pay I would
not have stayed in that place
