La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield MA garners mixed reviews, with many guests appreciating its clean, well-appointed rooms and the range of amenities, including a praised breakfast spread and fitness facilities. However, some guests have voiced their disappointment regarding the value for money, citing maintenance and noise issues in rooms. Although the hotel's service is often commended for its cleanliness and attentiveness, issues with staff interactions and inconsistent room servicing have been noted. We recently stayed at this hotel for Red Sox Winter Weekend and loved the proximity to both MGM and MassMutal. The hotel was clean, and our room was big enough for the four of us to move around comfortably. We only stayed for one night, and made sure to clean the room before we left. Those of us that stayed on the pull out couch, we even folded it back up and folded the sheets and stacked them nicely with the pillows.

Check in and out was easy, and the desk staff were polite. The close proximity to the Dunkin was great for heading out early the morning of check out.

It was only when I got home and the charge was posted to my credit card that I noticed an extra charge for $54. Nothing was ever said to me about incurring any extra charge. So I filled out the survey, I was was honest but still gave the hotel a good review in the survey because we did enjoy our stay. I received an email apologizing for that we weren't completely satisfied, so I emailed back explaining the charge and not knowing what it was for. Turns out, it was a $40 charge for a missing hair dryer.

Thomas was great and once I explained the situation that we never had one in the room to begin with (because I spilt some water on an outfit I was wearing so I had looked for one), he nicely refunded the charge.

We will definitely look at staying here again, but next time I'll look for the hair dyer (now that I know there should be one in the room) and if I don't see it, I will mention it to the front desk. :)

The hotel is located in downtown Springfield, right next to a Dunkin Donuts (woo!). We had no trouble finding it or finding a space in the lot to park. Check in was easy, the woman who helped us was friendly and on the front desk they had a listing of local restaurants as well as the menu for their bar/lounge for people to take. The room key packet also had important information, like how to access wifi, and the
hours for the gym/pool/free breakfast. Our room was nice, clean and relatively new, the only major blemishes I saw were that the sink had a big sort of crack in the bowl which made it look old. It did not affect the operation of the sink, but our sink stopper did not work and we had to remove the plug by hand to drain the sink if it was filled. I did report this to them at check out so they could remedy it. Room came with a small refrigerator and also a microwave, and the little shop next to the check in desk sold snacks and such. TV in the room had direct TV with Showtime, we did have a decent selection of channels but I still don’t understand why every hotel we stay in has like 40 channels and like 15 are sports. Traveling with kids, it would have been nice to maybe have Disney on there instead of ESPN 1-100. The TV did have Nickelodeon though, but that was really the only kids channel. Hotel was nice overall, wasn’t
too noisy even though there seemed to be a lot of kids there for something, maybe a
competition? I took our son to the pool and it was nice, but crowded and too cold. The website advertises a game room, but it’s really only an air hockey table, racing game, and a couple other prize machines, not really somewhere to spend lots of time. The hotel offers free hot breakfast in the morning, which we did partake in. There was a decent selection of options - make your own waffles, some little mini omelets, sausage, toast, bagels, pastries, cereal selections, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, juice, and milk. Kids were satisfied and it was a decent breakfast.
Overall, the hotel was welcoming, clean, and comfortable. Price was decent and I feel like it was a good value for our money. If I am in the area again, I would stay again - it seemed to be close to everything and was only like a mile or so from where we were going.

Dear Ash_lis, Thank you for your review and I do hope that if in the area you chose to stay with us. I will check on the pool temperature as we do keep it at degrees. I will also review our Tv channel menu to see what Children's channels are available to add to our menu.

This was an OK experience. We stayed several days. No room service in 4 days. Be sure to request daily service or your trash and wet towels will pile up. The beds were clean but the pillows lumpy. Desk personnel were less than helpful but the breakfast staff were excellent. There is a large selection for breakfast, with a different hot dish each day in addition to the usual fare. Parking was convenient. You can park safely here. Its convenient to downtown and to attractions in the area. Would I stay here again? No, I'd choose another.

I was very disappointed. In the room, the toilet seat was broken. The toilet paper holder was broken. There was only a half roll of toilet paper in bathroom with no refill. Instead of 4 pillows on each bed, we had 3. We had only two sets of towels and washcloths instead of 4, we had 4 people in the room.
Breakfast was crazy, they kept running out of food and people had to wait in long lines before food came out. They ran out of styrofoam plates and we were told there was no more, so had to use styrofoam bowls for food. The toaster took three times to actually toast my bagel. We had a 1 year old and we had to hold him in our lap to feed as there was only 1 high chair for many children eating breakfast.
I understand employee shortage but with good management, these problems could be avoided.

This property fell far short of the last few LaQuintas we have stayed in. First, I must say that the check-in clerk, Asha or something like that, was very friendly. We used Wyndham points to pay for our one-night stay and reserved a suite, which one would expect to be one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. The room was uncomfortably cold, and the HVAC unit put out little heat. I had to set the thermostat to 77 degrees and run the heater for 5 hours, sitting around with extra layers of clothing until the room finally reached a comfort level. Then I had to keep the thermostat on 78 and run it all night to maintain that temperature. I'm certain the actual ambient temperature was more like 71. The hallway was cold, and we stuffed towels under the door to help keep the cold air from the hall from intruding. Outdoor temperature was around 40 degrees, cold but not frigid. When we opened the bed we found a washcloth between the sheets. Strangely, the included breakfast served French toast but there was no syrup available.

We stayed in this hotel as we needed to be at Baystate first thing in the am with a huge snow storm incoming, wish we could report better things. Got off the elevator and all you smelled was weed being smoked, the smell never left, in the room the shower would spray you as you used the sink area poor plumbing work, light in vanity well you'll see in photos and black mold around base of shower and wall. We checked out early to go home and the front desk attendant was so engrossed in his phone that he never even saw us there with arms full of luggage. Would consider staying elsewhere in the future. When our room was serviced they took all our used towels and left none to replace them. They did come back eventually to restock housekeeping knocked and walked right in, they did not even give us time to respond.

My family and I stayed at this la Quinta on New Years Eve. We booked 2 rooms because we had 4 kids and 4 adults. We were excited to stay at this hotel because of the large pool. Upon checking in we very disappointed to find out the pool was closed...The website never mentioned that, and no one told me the pool was closed when I called to inquire about the rooms and the pool. The only reason we chose this hotel was for the pool. Terrible customer service

Clean and Reasonable Prices . Although the sink stopper wouldn't come up in room 610 was bothersome. 3 over head lights to the left of building , can be dark walking that side . They need straight bathroom curtain rods so the bathroom door would open more . Staff always friendly and efficient when one has concerns . Didnt like as a Diamond Member they increases the essential hold from $50 to $150 for locals . I have a PO box near by. But either way being a Diamond Member should stay $50. They could clean trash in back of building at fence area. Easy access to all major highways and most of my stats very quite rest. I would recommend .

I traveled to this La Quinta location for just one night. I went to a New Hampshire location before and loved it which made me stick with this company. They have straight forward room pricing without the extra fees. The location is perfectly located near city restaurants, salons, nightlife, and even a museum or two.
The only compliant I have was for the old paint in the hallways and dim lighting. It looked creepy.

We paid over $150 for a room with 2 queens. At check in, there was confusion about what room we were going to be given even though we arrived after 9pm which was well after allowable check in. Finally they settled on a room but first needed to "take the equipment out". The room smelled like smoke. We had 2 young kids who were exhausted after a hot day at Six Flags, so we just dealt with it. The breakfast is a sad bag of soggy squished muffin (all 4 of ours were squished), apples (some bruising), a nutrigrain bar and 4oz bottle of water. I would have preferred that they reduced the price slightly as we just bought breakfast at the Dunkin in the parking lot. Our bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were well past their prime- very lumpy and flat. The staff was pleasant, but we won't be going back. The pool was a highlight for the kids though. Not worth the price.
