My wife and I have been fortunate to do a lot of travelling over the years. Along the way, we have stayed at some pretty special establishments ... or so we though until we were fortunate enough to win a contest that allowed us to choose any lodging we wanted. So we told our travel agent to book the Emma. I grew up in San Antonio but moved away many years ago, so we'd heard about the Emma as part of the Pearl redevelopment and so it piqued our interest. And are we ever glad we did. Everything about this hotel is absolutely top-notch, but not in the ostentatious way that hotels in this price range normally are. They've redeveloped the old Pearl Brewery into one of the top hotels in the region, if not the country, in so doing preserving much of the character and structure of the old brewery. It's comfortable and incredibly well executed. The staff is gracious, friendly, and eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms, even the most basic, are full of the kind of detail you just don't find in lesser establishments, and again they are oh-so-comfortable. They turn your bed every night and leave you a couple of wonderful cookies in the process. There are several dining options - we found the food at Supper to be wonderful, reasonably priced for an establishment of this calibre, and handled my wife's special dietary requirements with aplomb. Until staying here, I'd never *ever* consider paying this much for a hotel stay. After staying here, if the circumstances warranted, I will.

A bit pricey but worth it. The history and fact that they kept so much of the original building in the lobby and rooms is fantastic. Everything is first class from entry to exit. The location offers so much to do you really don't have to leave the area. Supper is delicious, the Larder has great coffee, pastries and staples. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance and the farmers market on the weekends is the best in Texas! Try Hiatus Spa, it's like no other! Walk the river and see wonderful wildlife and native plants. A great getaway all around.

We knew it was going to be great, but it was OUTSTANDING! Staff, room, surroundings, attention to hotel guests was off the chart. The rooms were great. The amenities provided or even asked for prior to our stay were provided for without question. No question was off limits no matter how many times they probably have been asked before. We are definitely going back.

but, I did not want to leave this hotel...loved every minute of my 4 day trip - the location, décor, people, food, ambience...I was instantly cooler (and I don't mean weather-wise) by just standing in the lobby.

Amazing luxury hotel on the old Pearl Brewery property. Historic but so nice and comfortable with an excellent restaurant, fantastic staff, and top notch amenities. Can walk down to the regular River Walk (on the river level) or up to Brakenridge park. Lot of nice shops and other restaurants surround the property.
