Last time I stayed here, I was in a tent and didn’t get a great night’s sleep. This time I was in a Camping Cabin and enjoyed my stay much more. Staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds are clean and well-kept. The campground offers a swimming pool, clean showers/restrooms, a covered patio near the pool and more. The single Camping Cabin was comfortable with a full size bed and twin bunk beds. The mattresses are far from plus, but comfortable enough. I put down a futon mattress to improve sleep quality. The Cabin had a TV, A/C, a portable heater, nightstand and a desk. Outside the Cabin is a concrete slab with a picnic table and umbrella. There is a grill outside and artificial turf. These cabins are upgrades from the standard KOA single Camping Cabins. Unlike other Cabins, there is no porch swing, so bring your camping chair. I was happy with the cost of the cabin, the service and the amenities. The KOA is conveniently located in Bernalillo, just a short drive to Main Street. Plenty of stores and restaurants are just a couple miles away.…
We stayed here twice in our 21 foot travel trailer. As KOAs go, this one is not very large. It is located in an industrial area next tothe highway, but was not noisy and had mountain views. The staff are friendly and the grounds are immaculate. The two dog areas were nice, one for smaller dogs, one for bigger ones. There is a brewery right next to the campground that serves great pizza. The bathrooms were small, but clean, 3 toilets and 3 showers in the men's section and the women's section. My only issue was the pool. I enjoyed a nice swim on our first visit. On our second visit it was impossible for me to swim because there were 16 children of varying ages, some unsupervised, jumping around any area I tried to swim in.
Sites are not level. All sand, dirt and pebbles that get blown everywhere. Sites very tight. Cannot open awnings as trees in way. Space between rigs maybe 8 feet. Not long enough for big rigs. Lanes tighter. 3 accidents while we stayed there for 3 nights that we saw when people parking on site and guided by KOA golf cart. No apologies to anyone. Misleading info on pool. Their own leaflet says may. Koa website says may 15. It’s neither. Labor Day at best. When we queried at checkin, told you can have full refund and go elsewhere!
Well outside Albuqueque's city limits. Nice view of the mountains. Only 3 women's showers for a large campground. Be sure to walk next door to the Kaktus Brewery for great pizza & hand crafted cocktails.
This was our second time staying at this KOA. It is very well laid out. They are dog friendly and have a two dog parks. Swimming pool playground and more. Great location close to I-25 and easy access to Santa Fe and Albuqueque.
Upon arrival staff in office seemed too busy on the phone to even acknowledge my presence. Finally came around to the counter to check me in. Quick and painless since I had a reservation. Sites are close but doable. Bathrooms clean but very small showers. I could have taken a shower in my own rig it was so small. Spent 3 nights FHU since we were doing Albuquerque and Santa Fe sightseeing
The campground was very clean and quiet. Our site had two little trees, a patch of astroturf, and a picnic table. No fire ring, but we were told that if we brought our own fire pit for cooking, and if it had a cover, we would be OK. The grandkids enjoyed roasting their hotdogs and marshmallows! The pool was wonderful, I've never seen a cleaner pool! It's outdoors but has ample shade and pool side chairs. There are several little shaded nooks where a person could sit and relax. We loved the waterfall with the koi. The grandkids wore themselves out every day in the pool, the playground and riding their bikes. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. They even lead you to your site! Highly recommend!
Grumpy abusive manager ruins this otherwise pleasant campground in a great location with his bullying, especially to single woman. He can't hear, jumbles facts and makes up the rest always to the guests' discredit. If you disagree with him he immediately threatens to call the police, whom he is wearing out crying wolf, along with his staff. He needs to retire and let this place blossom. The grounds workers are great keeping common areas intact, pool is nice too, however bathrooms can get gross with unclean showers and potties that, despite being shut down daily for 2 hours are not properly cleaned. The place is overall very tight with small RV lots and small shower stalls. Wifi is TERRIBLE! Staff is worn out from manager's constant complaining about guests and get easily overwhelmed. If you go into office for anything they consider it "harassment." Manager lies constantly about everything to deny responsibility. KOA needs to ditch him before he continues to ruin their name.…
This campground is conveniently located near I-25 on the north side of Albuquerque. The site was level and easily allowed to stay hooked up. The campground was clean. We did not de-winterize as we were returning to Colorado. So, we needed to use the bath/shower facilities. The facilities were clean but cold. It appeared that they were not heated or certainly not heated very much, kind of important when temps were below freezing in the morning. In addition, the entry door was broken and could not close. When coupled with the hole where a lock is supposed to go, the cold air just came in easily.
The check in lady was extremely nice over the phone and helpful. It's not her fault that she works at a old, not well lighted campground that is very narrow to navigate a larger RV. The KOA water was frozen from someone not covering the water pipe the day before we arrived, and when we tried their "New" internet it was spotty at best turning on and off all night. Also, we Covid checked in and never witnessed an onsite employee from 5PM to 10am departure around the KOA site.
