Family friendly hotel. Some rooms have two double beds and a sofa bed plus a kitchen. The hotel gets families with three or four kids. Some buy groceries and use the BBQ to save on dinner costs. The pool is much nicer than your normal Residence Inn pool. However, the pool’s bar opens after 3 pm so if you want to spend your day at the pool you need to leave to get lunch. I tried UberEATS but it was not available in that area. There are a couple of shopping centers within a ten to fifteen minute walk. One has quite a few stores such as Lululemon, Tommy Bahamas, and others. There is an Island Gourmet grocery store with a deli that offers prepared foods. We bought lunch from the Island Gourmet one day and brought it to the pool. The deli closes at 3 pm though so in the evening there are some packaged items. The beach is a long walk from the hotel. The hotel offers shuttle service and you can use that to get to the beach and shopping. Breakfast has a nice selection. Breakfast starts at 6:30 am on weekdays. Coming from the east coast I was up early and tried to go down a few minutes before 6:30 but they keep the doors locked. There was coffee outside the breakfast room earlier. Breakfast includes eggs, meat, hard waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc. You can sit outside but don’t leave your food unattended, there are birds waiting for you to leave your plate out. We drove to Kiehi a few times to buy dinner or lunch. There is not much in Wailea. I suggest that you rent a car if staying in this property. We stayed in Lahaina before and we found that area more convenient. The hotel is overpriced for a Residence Inn, but it is Hawaii. If you have several kids and prefer staying in a hotel rather than a condo there are not that many hotel options that can accommodate 2 adults and 3 kids otherwise.

Excellent hospitality and location. Lobby and breakfast dining area were airy and modern. Fun seeing the love birds and sparrows fly around while eating breakfast. The 1 bedroom suite has a good layout for a family of 5. Sofa bed could be improved - a lot of screeching and you can feel the coils. Pool was great for kids with a nice view and plenty of chairs. Ulua beach, 5 mins away, was perfect for snorkeling and family fun at the beach. Room was upgraded as a platinum member. Great stay!

From check in to check out the staff took excellent care of us. The provided breakfast was excellent and kept us going all day. The location was great with beaches and shopping in easy walking distance. The hotel provided a shuttle for trips when we didn't feel like walking. I will definitely stay here again.

We've been here for a few days and I would say this hotel is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in considering the cost of the stay. There is no cleaning service until the 3rd day, no replenishment of toiletries unless you call and ask. The internet doesn't even work and the room is dated considering this is a newer hotel. There are no towels left at night so you need to bring your own. The breakfast is a joke. Beware of staying here.

-tired room with a sofa bed that is ridiculously uncomfortable - springs sticking up everywhere and no linens supplied unless requested. new sheets were never provided for the length of our stay. Day 10 of 14 right now… -dirty, dingy common areas -constantly have to call for toiletries which are sometimes not delivered -breakfast is beyond terrible -spotty wifi at best -often out of beach towels

Pros: The staff and front desk were the best; pleasant and enjoyable. Cons: 1) The hotel manager was not interested in my concerns. 2) There is no on site dining except breakfast. There is chef Mike at the bar (microwave) 3) The breakfast was a daily menu of hard scrambled eggs and sausage. The sausage had a weird flavor profile. 4) There was no fruit except an apple or orange. No berries or melons. 5) The waffles came premade in plastic bags. Who does that?! 6) They ran out of items. I find that unusual, given there is a Safeway grocery down the road. They use Covid as the reason to have zero passion for quality. For the prices charged, they should provide made to order breakfast and at the very least more variety.

Aloha castatorcarl! Thank you for taking the time to provide your honest feedback about your recent stay! Our complimentary breakfast offering features a rotation of different breakfast sausages/proteins including pork sausage, chicken sausage, andouille, canadian bacon, and veggie crumble - I am so sorry you did not enjoy one of the sausages. Our other offerings may vary from day to day depending on the availability of our food vendor - due to the recent supply chain issues, some items become unavailable unexpectedly. Please know we make every effort to ensure we can provide variety to our guests. We are hopeful these challenges are temporary and will be resolved very soon. I appreciate your bringing your concerns to our attention so that we may continue to make the best decisions for our guest's experience. If you wish to discuss your experience directly, please reach out to the hotel by calling 808-891-7460 and ask for the manager on duty. Mahalo!

Was our third visit as a family of 5 to this property. We travel to Maui from Nova Scotia so that tells you something. 9 night stay late February 2022. Kids are now young adults ages 15, 19 and 21. They still love it as much as our first visit. Property is well located, clean, comfortable and friendly. I wish I could remember name of lady who checked us in this last visit as she was exceptionally understanding to some of our challenges due to extreme travel delays. Thank you!!!! The shuttle driver and room attendants were also fabulous (I've also forgotten their names....sorry!!). Property is family friendly but also many mature adults looking for a quiet vacation. Very, very relaxed atmosphere. Included buffet breakfast is wonderful and staff keep all stations clean and well stocked. In room kitchen facilities are more than adequate. We enjoy preparing several of our own meals using provided BBQ facilities. Restaurants and beaches very nearby......I'm still scraping Maui sand out of my ears!!!! :-) Thanks Residence Inn!!! We hope to be back soon......although next time without 40 hours of travel time!!!

As a Bonvo Elite member this place is Perfect great view over looking the Pool and Ocean Its away from the big resorts on the north end of the island right in the upscale area with lots to see and do plenty of eating options all the staff here were great free breakfast in the morning late night full service bar with options for late night snack and Mai Tai’s everything you expect from this Marriott brand. I love the open air lobby and dinning areas I hear people complain about the birds flying in and out lol so what you come to Hawaii to enjoy this weather and way off life I will stay here next time. just a note they say on site parking its not free like ever other residence inn I stay at. They get you for $30 per night at check in! Ok fine I guess I’m in Hawaii lol.

The property is beautiful. The rooms were very nice as well. The staff was courteous and helpful and the grounds were well maintained. This property is located up a hill about a half-mile or less from the beach. Might be too far to walk to and from the beach, but they do provide a shuttle. The location up the hill, however, provides impressive views of the island and the ocean. This property also offers impressive, resort-style amenities on the grounds. It's not your standard Residence Inn. I had two concerns. Firstly, our room lacked numerous kitchen items that are standard-issue, such as frying pan, drink pitcher, more than one dinner knife, etc. We planned to cook our own dinners, so it was a bit of a pain to realize how many items were missing. Housekeeping should definitely be taking a regular inventory to ensure everything is available BEFORE the guest arrives. Secondly, I felt that the $30 charge to park my car was excessive. Personally, I'm a Titanium Elite, Lifetime member (and a Marriott owner). I feel some consideration could be given to elite members to waive that fee. This Residence Inn is not a "bargain". It's quite pricey, in fact. So I feel the $30 is just another money grab.

Quiet resort. Very clean. But the pool water was too cold to enjoy. I think they keep the temperature cold, because even the hot sun can't warm the pool water. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay. Will go back, if they ensured that they would heat the pool.
