Set in the idyllic Quebecoise countryside, the Manoir Becancourt is an elegant, relaxing, enjoyable and unwinding boutique hotel. This beautiful Victorian Manor built in 1912 has been renovated completely in the past seven years...It is now without a doubt a great example of old architecture mixed with modern design and most of all modern comfort. Our rooms are all unique and decorated with taste and thought, all have private bathroom and modern facilities. The Manoir also now offers an in-house massage facility, a free gym and a free four season hot tub. Our lounge is the perfect place to sip your cocktail next to the fireplace looking outside the garden. We are extremely proud of our restaurant that we believe to be the best in the region Centre du Quebec and Mauricie, we pride ourselves on serving great simple food made with great local products and Mediterranean flair, our service is discrete and most of all welcoming and accommodating. Here we celebrate the pleasure of relaxation and the art of "Bien Vivre." Also for those who need to be connected the Manoir offers all modern technologies and conference facilities. The Manoir is situated just five minutes from the industrial Park of Becancour. Also today available at a short distance our brand new English Pub "The Smoked Pig Pub" where you will be able to enjoy Draft Beers, Wine, Cocktails and Comfort Food.

Checked in with my wife by the owner. The owner and staff were very friendly and fully bilingual. Our room was upgraded, without us even asking, to a spacious suite with a king-sized bed. The decor and colours in the hotel were very warm and welcoming. The hotel had a restaurant but it wasn't open on the night we were there. The restaurant looked very quaint and elegant. There was a small exercise room too, as well as an outdoor hot tub. The owner suggested we have supper at a nearby restaurant called the "Pub au Cochon Fume", an English styled pub just down the road. We went there and had a lovely meal (Fish & chips; Medit. pizza). The next morning we had a great free breakfast in the breakfast nook with lots of choices (cereals, cheeses, breads/pastries, jams, fruits, waffles). The hotel was quiet and peaceful. The building is old but well maintained. We definitely recommend this hotel.

On a business trip to Becancour, we were given this information to stay because of convenience and ease. The owner seemed to be very friendly and great. Upon having a late arrival, we called and their arrival was instantaneous to our call. I understand leaving the doors locked For security, which is no different than a large chain hotel. The breakfast was superb, and again all the staff which were encountered were very friendly. We learned of the dual ownership of the local pub and it to is very warming and heartfuo delicious food. I would have been content with the hotel down the street as a single traveler if I would have known about it prior. Great place to stay.

I can’t say enough about the hospitality we experienced during our weekend stay. The food was absolutely excellent and the room just delightful. However, both were exceeded by ultra-friendly staff. The owner-manager has clearly invested her heart and soul in the establishment. Her taste in decorating and attention to detail was superb and this commitment was also seen in her staff. We’ll be back!!

Manoir Becancourt is a very quaint-looking bed and breakfast in the Quebec countryside. Their last check-in is at 22:00 (or they charge a fee); we arrived at 21:30 because we stopped for dinner in Shawinigan after hiking in Mauricie National Park. It was a bit of a drive and detour for us to spend the night here, but I was swayed by the wonderful Tripadvisor reviews to splurge on a night here during our honeymoon. I forgot that many of the glowing reviews were for the restaurant, but the kitchen was already closed by the time we arrived. It was Friday night, and the restaurant's dining rooms were still packed with patrons. Since our room was closest to the staircase, we heard the noise from the guests in the restaurant until pretty late into the night. Although the noise from the restaurant kept us up, our request for a complimentary later check out was denied (they were adamant that they'd charge a late check-out fee if we checked out 30 minutes later). We stayed for one night in the junior Marie Antoinette room which looked very cute in photos. The size of the room was fine for two as we didn't have much luggage to carry up the stairs. The room had an en-suite bathroom with a shower (no tub which wasn't an issue). However I didn't enjoy the shower which had no curtain so it was pretty cold and drafty when I was showering. Also they put all the toiletries on the window sill which wasn't in arm's reach. It would've been nice to have a shower caddy/organizer; I put my toiletries on the floor. They have robes in the room for us to use. They said that the hot tub is open all night long, but I didn't end up using it since there was a scent of cows in the air that night (true countryside experience!). Breakfast the next day consisted of both fresh and dried fruits, cold cuts, and bread/pastries. The property also has a cozy living room with fireplace, outdoor seating and a workout room.

Stayed in the penthouse for 10 weeks. Never got tired of the comfort, the privacy, the view and the hospitality: Emmanuelle, Etienne, David, Jasmine, and all those who made our stay special. Becancour is fortunate to have such a nice place to stay near the St Laurence River
