I visited Deep Forest Cabins for 3 nights in July, staying in Salal. It was heaven! The location is ideal. Set amidst a grove of spruces, Salal is a few minutes away from the National Park Service entrance to Mount Rainier. The setting is peaceful and quiet. While Salal is close to another cabin (Chanticleer?), I never saw, nor heard, anyone else. Check in was a breeze, as I followed the instruction and directions emailed to me. Jan greeted me and explained all that I needed to know about the cozy cabin. I drove for a little bit to arrive at the driveway which led me up a slope passing the other Deep Forest cabin properties. Salal was near the top and upon my arrival, I loaded my car and entered into the pristine, clean, secluded and cozy dwelling, protected by the forest and salal bushes. To the left of the entrance is the full kitchen, immediately down a few steps is the cozy living area, and to the right of the entrance is the bedroom. The layout is spacious, perhaps amplified by the abundance of windows which let mother-nature in at every opportunity. Gas fireplaces are situated in the living room and bedroom, providing a cozy warmth that was welcomed even in early July. The kitchen is a full service kitchen, tastefully done with all of the modern amenities. A small bathroom with a shower is located off the kitchen, next to a second entrance. Immediately outside this entrance is a small gas grill, which I used to prepare dinner each night of my stay. My favorite part of the kitchen was the line of windows looking out at the majestic spruces reaching toward the sky. I routinely found myself gazing outside from this comfortable vantage point. The living area has a nook, complete with large windows and a reading light which makes for the perfect cozy space that invites you to grab a book, or sit peacefully and reflect on the beauty that sits just outside. Also, just off the LR is a large outdoor deck complete with lounge chairs, and a table, umbrella and 4 chairs. I spent lots of times sitting here, enjoying the quiet as well as the smell of the forest. The bedroom is large and has a king size bed, TV (I never turned it on) and sofa. Just off the bedroom is a full bath with a large jetted bathtub complete with another large paned window. Jan was wonderfully helpful and available by text. Although there is no cellular service, the wifi at Salal was strong enough to allow me to use for phone call, texts and light surfing on the internet. I will return to the Pacific NW again one day, and plan to make a return visit to the remote, comfortable, quiet and peaceful oasis known as Salal.

Out of all the places we’ve stayed in our five year marriage, The Cedar Grove Cabin, was by far the most majestic and beautiful. Nestled amongst a canopy oasis of cedar trees, this recently renovated cabin features both and INDOOR and OUTDOOR hot-tub. Never did we expect how beautiful this experience could have been. We have never been able to find a place since that includes both types of jacuzzis, which is perfect after a long day of hiking. Another great thing was that the kitchen came stocked with great appliances and equipment for cooking. Lastly, the owners Janet and Pat were friendly and helpful. We absolutely look forward to visiting this part of the country in the future and staying in our beloved studio cabin.

We spent two wonderful evenings in the Chanterelle Cabin. The cabins are all different sizes but this one is perfect for a couple. All of the cabins are nestled in some beautiful forest area right off the main road leading to Mt. Rainier National Park. Because of how they are nestled, each cabin is very private and quiet. Chanterelle had all the amenities necessary for a lovely stay- small microwave, frig, water kettle for teas and coffees, paper towels, umbrellas, flashlight, lantern, even sandwich bags and plastic utensils. The king size bed was super comfortable and the shower had lots of hot water. Although there is a flat screen tv, there is no cable but there is a DVD player. The owners let you know that ahead of time so you can bring your own DVD's or they have a selection at the office that guests are allowed to borrow. The Wifi was strong enough to stream Netflix also.

We visited for 3 nights in May whilst visiting Mt St Rainier. It is incredibly well situated for the park especially when you see how long the park entrance queues can get. We splurged and stayed in Salal cabin. Its absolutely fantastic and seems to just levitate amongst the treetops. Absolutely stunning, inside and out..... And the info sheet we received from the owner Janet was the most informative and comprehensive info I have received from an owner. It really helped in terms of knowing what to expect re amenities etc

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Deep Forest Cabins. I stayed in the Chanterelle cabin and my daughter and her husband and their two sons were in the Salal cabin. We have stayed at several different places near Mt. Rainier and this is one of the best - nice plush towels and well-appointed cabins. Janet Liddle was most gracious and helpful in regard to our reservations.
