The food is good, the dinners are a little simpler and with less variety but the food is good.
For the spa you have to book, it is not expensive and it is good, there are several jacuzzis, a large heated pool with jets, a hot and cold sauna, a hammam and a jet circuit for the legs. And if you feel like a massage, they go separately.
The location is very quiet, right in front of it is the beach, although it is far from the center of Peñiscola, you need a car if you want to go see the castle, and the hotel parking is paid.
In short, it is not a hotel in which I am looking forward to repeating, but I do not rule it out either.
The rooms are spacious with large beds and a big terrace.
Everything is controlled military style in the dining room, but the food is a big disappointment- mass produced canteen quality food. The selection is also limited as far as fresh food is concerned!!!
The decor reflects the age of the hotel and needs updating desperately.

Very comfortable rooms, in the app give you to choose pillow if you do not like the one you have, plus any problem you can send for the app or reception.
They changed our towels every day.
True, the floor was not as clean as my house but the girls were cleaning the hotel at all hours.
Buffet, more than enough, are repeated but as in almost all hotels, it is improveable but wonderful.
Swimming pool, oversaturated, one morning there was no room in the glass to get in and the hammocks, they are already getting some hanging. Yes, noon the rescue worker removes the items from the hammocks that are more than 45min empty, so good for it.
Next to the beach it is great, that area does have strong waves. 3.5km from the Castle, by bus or car.
The excellent staff, generally super friendly, attentive, both in Restaurant, bar, reception and just arriving there is a person at the entrance (to the sun) to explain that you can leave the car while you check in...super friendly.
Animation, during the day there are many things for everyone but after minidisc, there is little.
Spa,gym we don't play but to have a good time.
So overall very well
Pool: the weekend crowded but on weekdays we were fine. Dirty hammocks and the pool full of sand. I have to say that as much as they clean if the guests when they arrive from the beach are not able to even clean their feet it is normal that the pool is with the bottom of sand and stones. The lifeguard could be a little more attentive and to all those guests who arrive from the beach and go straight to the pool just to clarify remind them that there are showers. Because I've seen many use it just to lighten up and get in the room.
Entertainment, activities, right rooms.
Great cocktails. Although on several occasions they were missing some ingredient such as peppermint, mint or fruit.
Reception that I will say of them, if they are the best that I found throughout many hotels, thank you, to Evelin, Lidia, Rosa, Nadia, Michel, and of course to Rosa and Juan that we put so much pressure on them, thank you very much for your patience and for resolutions. Thanks also and not least to Quality , to assistant directors and the director who also treat us, a hug to all and I hope to see you in the following season as it is and will be a pleasure to share with you another season, see you soon.
The worst of all has undoubtedly been the food. Very little variety, terrible quality, with a look that did not invite you to eat, quite the opposite. I'm surprised that there are people who like that tasteless food they serve. People who travel a lot can compare and know what a menu for a 4-star hotel should be like. For me, 2 stars is too big.
The only nice thing was the views from the hotel, since we had a room with a sea view.
Everything else is not worth it, it is wasted money.
I would not return nor recommend this hotel.
The person in charge of the dining room has to change his vision and it is necessary for him to make a big change; Renovate the dining room, make it beautiful, pleasant and also offer delicious, quality food.
The pool loungers were dirty, as was the floor.
One point less also for cleaning.
I repeat: I WILL NOT RETURN NOR RECOMMEND IT!
The quality of the breakfasts, lunches and dinners was very low, powdered juices, very little fruit, there was no French omelet or scrambled eggs and some days not even eggs. Very bad coffees. Meat and fish when there was low quality. I didn't see beef anywhere and there was always only frozen hake for fish. For desserts you could only eat the pudding.
