Hotel with a very good location. In beachfront. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good. Varied and very delicious food. Thank you to Elena at reception for making arrangements to have a parking space despite not reserving it in advance. The worst thing is that it is a hotel on the ground floor of an apartment building. The terraces are all with bars and none of them face the beach. On online booking pages I have seen photos with rooms with sea views and without bars. In that sense a little disappointed. Very hot in the rooms, thank goodness they have air. The shower thermostat is an odyssey to get warm water. Passable hotel for three days or more...no.

The hotel is normally very good having stayed before but an arranged party with music playing till after 3 spoiled my stay. They changed my room which lessened the noise. Elana in reception the next morning was very sympathetic and refunded my money. Please check regarding any planned parties because the hotel is excellent, free parking, good rooms and fantastic breakfast. Even after my experience with the noise I will again use this good little hotel after checking for events

It is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Both times only 1 night. To get by it is acceptable but to spend more days I do not recommend it. The room is at street level, the window overlooks an alley through which cars leave the parking lot. In general the room was clean but you can see that they are old, both in the tiles and in the furniture and decoration or bedspreads and bed sheets. We had breakfast in the hotel cafeteria but the waitress disappeared at times, and it took her forever to make us 2 tomato toasts and 2 coffees… The receptionist was very attentive and friendly. The hotel is just a zebra crossing from the beach.

Firstly I would say that the hotel is in a good position, right on the beach and only a short walk to the castle. The hotel itself though is the most tired & miserable hotel I have ever stayed in and the staff matched it very well. We stayed for 3 nights and to be honest if we hadn't paid our £150 upfront we would have left on the day we arrived!! The receptionist on arrival spoke a few words of English and we checked in OK, but there was obviously no room designated for us as she dithered for at least 10mins deciding where to put us. We booked directly with the hotel and were told we would have a box of chocolates in our room as a 'Thank You' - We never received them!
The room had a very overpowering smell of bleach, but was really very dirty. I had to clean the surfaces myself. There was mould on the walls and ancient air conditioning unit that sounded like an aircraft taking off and a small terrace area that had never seen a broom! We had cigarette burns in the sheets and a big heavy blanket that had seen better days. The staff in the bar/restaurant (with the exception of an older gentleman) were just so rude & miserable. People were shouted at for sitting at the wrong tables but there was no-one to tell you where to sit. The breakfast was cheap and minimal, the croissants were fresh but that was it. Cereals were in a large bowl which was just covered with a teatowel everyday making for very stale cornflakes. We ate dinner elsewhere everyday and from what we saw we made the right decision.
And last but not least the walls are tissue paper thin making for a VERY noisy stay, especially when people have dogs that bark all night and toilet pipes that vibrate loudly for 5 mins after each flush. We have previously stayed in many Spanish 2 star hotels that have surpassed the standards here. The whole place needs shutting down & remodernising!

We checked into the Felipe ll and although the receptionist was friendly she did not speak English nor did the staff on duty.We were shown our room (the 1st one there was someone already in it) so we were given another but unfortunately we decided we could not stay as the bathroom was dirty and still had hair in the bath, the towels were all stained and there was a smell in the room/balcony which looked out onto the car park. We decided to leave after about 5mins and handed the key back,we asked if there was any charge and we were told NO but we received an e-mail to say that we WOULD be charged as we never showed up for the booking?? I must admit though the photos on line of the hotel were really nice but sadly that wasn't the case when we arrived.Very disappointed client from Alicante.

I base this review on a visit to the cafe/ restaurant only....
Called here today after struggling to find a table in some busier restaurants and being ignored in so many others..
They didnt mind where i sat and was served by a lovely waitress who unlike some others took her time to try and translate the menu for me
As it was lunch i settled for just a pizza and fries with a drink
The pizza came piping hot and freshly cooked and quite large, there were enough fries to fill a lorry..
When i had finished i was presented with the bill and a box to take my remaining pizza away with me
Very pleasant lunch, sea view, great for people watching great prices highly recommend

Nice-sized room and bathroom, clean and tidy. Receptionist was friendly enough, but we were too late to eat (after being too early in Morella on the way through... Spain seems very particular about when and if they'll serve you food).

Though the hotel only has 2 stars, the rooms are nice and with a quiet location on the ground floor. The hotel has a restaurant with ordinary food and a small bar. The breakfast is very good with a high standard for a 2 start hotel. The hotel has a parking lot behind the hotel.

we stayed just one night in January booked online hotel is right opposite the sea, free easy parking, free good wifi, lovely comfy beds and clean room, nice large flat screen t.v with some English news channels, all in all very good, only slight let down was the breakfast experience, not really a good choice of food, cheap watery orange juice, no cereals. fruit or yogurts, waitress not around much i had to wait and ask 3 times for another butter and then had to go and find her for another pack of marmalade then she eventually brought out 3 bowls of butters and jams, there was only one other couple in the room so she was hardly rushed off her feet !
not the end of the world but she could have made the experience a little more enjoyable. but would definitely recommend this hotel for value and location
