As a drawback and recommendation, I say that my son has an allergy to eggs and, even having given sufficient notice, the only "protocol" that is carried out is that when you arrive at the restaurant you ask a waiter about the meals that contain this food so that This in turn ask in the kitchen. I would appreciate it if the signs where they simply say the name of the food included a legend about allergens. This would be the minimum.
The hotel is clean, spacious and great value for money. The food was varied and good, although I wouldn't give it 5 stars in this regard either.
One drawback, or not, is that there is no entertainment, neither for adults nor children, there is only billiards.
- It is the only 4* hotel in which the air conditioning is broken in many parts of the restaurant, with temperatures outside 37°. Depending on which table you have, you sweat profusely. A fact that we mentioned to those in charge without any measure being taken to solve it, answering us in a bad way.
- the buffet food, one of those buffets that appear on TV where for €10 they give you all kinds of fritangas. Very bad quality. Products in poor condition, moldy fruit and vegetables. Sour cream desserts.... Of the 10 trays they put of hot food, two are with French fries of different cuts (as if we were stupid) and one with white rice; So the 10 trays remain at 7 in the best of cases because especially at dinners they put some trays horizontally so that it occupies two places and thus they take out even less.
- In the restaurant they gave us lipstick-stained glasses and glasses several times and they did not change them because they did not have any more.
- The cafeteria service was terrible, so the cafeteria was always empty. They take a long time to serve and on top of that this year they have invented limited hours and at 4:25 p.m. a counter comes on the TV that turns it off and the waiters invite you to leave. Something never seen in a hotel of this category...
- The toilet bowls are very worn with black stains from use and the cistern has little strength that prevents it from flushing everything. The shower without force.
- raised hotel floors
All of this was made known to all the hotel staff and they didn't pay any attention because if we don't come back, other clients will go because they don't care. Being a trendy destination due to the amount of people we saw on the streets, the workers at this hotel don't care about the usual clientele. They increasingly hire worse professionals without caring about the quality they offer to their clients in all areas.
I gave a star because they won't let me give 0. Terrible hotel
I am surprised to read some opinions that I have read regarding the restaurant and I want to think that they would not be there for 7 days like us and on full board like us. The variety in both lunch and dinner is limited. In both cases they repeat 2 trays of potatoes, so it seems like there is but there isn't. The next day they present a couple of dishes with leftovers from the previous day's meals. I agree with the use of food, but if I pay for 7 lunches and 7 dinners I don't expect them to give me leftovers from the previous day. On the third day they repeat meals, that is, there is loin steak on Saturday, well on Monday too and so on with quite a few meals (and always the two trays of potatoes). Most of the restaurant employees are unfriendly and even more so the managers. No attention to customers.
The cafeteria service when it is open, which is very short, disastrous, without professionalism.
The only acceptable thing is breakfast.
Regarding the facilities, passable, not for 4 stars. Small pool and in August full of people. There are no free hammocks and you can't even take a short stroke inside because it's all the way up. Then the pool cafeteria area is separated from it, so if you want to have a beer while watching your little daughter in the pool it is impossible, since it cannot be seen from said cafeteria.
There are areas that look new, the dining room and cafeteria, and the rest of the areas are very neglected. One of our rooms (316) did not have 3. The restaurant's air conditioning is really noticeable, if at all, because it gets hot.
In general we have not been able to enjoy our holidays. I don't know what organization gives stars to hotels, but the truth is that 4 stars, nothing.
I forgot. They give food to people from outside the hotel, so it is a little strange, even more so when they have preference for hotel guests and on top of that they let people in with portable refrigerators to take the customers' food, on the other hand they don't take a delicacy either.
I hope this comment helps simple families like us so that they do not spend their vacation days in bad conditions.
The views were relatively good.
Service/restaurant: forget about eating something there as you are lactose intolerant (I complained at reception and restaurant and they did absolutely nothing). I was able to eat something those days thanks to Ana and Dani, who were the only waiters and general service people worthwhile. The rest were pretty unfriendly.
Pool and common facilities in general were fine
I recommend it and if I return to Peñiscola I will definitely go to this hotel. To add a but. The pool is a tad small for the amount of staff there is because depending on the time there was no more space.
The reception is at your disposal and helps if needed.
Beautiful rooms with balcony, double bed and walk-in shower.
Clean and well maintained.
Meal buffets with Spanish specialities at every meal.
Private parking.
An interesting pool area with two jaccousi.
Musical entertainment some nights.
Ideal location: facing the beach and the old town and its castle a few minutes walk.
We've been back with pleasure for 21 years
Wardrobe room without doors.
It doesn't deserve the four-star category.
Lousy wifi coverage
