The Hotel Carlos III is located just 20 meters from the coast and a small cove, where you can swim, just in front of the Natural Port of the Alfaques and the Natural Park of the Ebro Delta, one of the last places where you can enjoy virgin beaches. The Hotel has facilities designed for you to enjoy the rest and relax next to the Ebro Delta, so our 59 rooms have a frontal view of the sea. The small number of hotel rooms allows us to adapt to the specific needs of our guests (variations in menus, pillow menu, check-in and check-out times, etc.). Do not hesitate to communicate us any topic that can make your stay more enjoyable. At the Carlos III Hotel we want you to feel at home, and for this the treatment of our staff is the most familiar.

Detailed Reviews
The hotel is literately on the sea front, just keep your eyes averted to the left, because to the right, there is a great big unsightly pier which is used to load boats with Cement, from the Cement works over the main road, at the back of the hotel. If you can do that, and enjoy the value for money you are getting, then you are quids in. The interior was very nice, & the room was very nice and clean.

The hotel is pleasant and the welcome is very friendly. Meals could be improved. They look a bit like a “canteen”. The only serious downside is the reception of groups of teenagers (14/16 years old - boys and girls). During our two stays we had to put up with their exuberance, to the point of leaving the establishment earlier than planned the second time.

Old hotel, you urge a reform.Very good location with a small stone cove on the front line.
The Hotel has a restaurant, normalillo, which allows access to non-hotel guests.
With the Reservation of the restaurant, it gives the right to enjoy the common areas, so it is totally taken from the first hour by people who only go to eat and make little civic use of the pool, hammocks, etc.
If you want to enjoy a few days at the beach DO NOT go.

Probably best avoided ... very faded and only just cleanish. Waiter did the old trick when we ordered the expensive wine at dinner - just as he arrived at the table he popped the cork making it sound like he'd just opened it ... dear oh dear! That paled into insignificance when we tried to check out. The whole process took 25 minutes ... ignored by the (male) receptionist while he made a phone call ... then he couldn't find last night's dinner bill, then he couldn't get the computer to work, then found the dinner bill and got the computer to work, then couldn't print off the bill, then couldn't get the credit card gizmo to work so took a photocopy of the card - my wife snatched that away from him smartish - then 'could we perhaps pay cash?' which is presumably what the pantomime was all about! We eventually managed to escape and I've no doubt where the cash went! Just to remind you what I said earlier ... probably best avoided.
Oh ... nice sea view, industrial environs dreadful!

Stayed four nights whilst touring Catalunya, easy check-in,large room with excellent bathroom, full air-con and large balcony with sea view.Public areas clean, lotsof space, swimming pool large with plenty of loungers and overlooking the small beach. The buffet breakfast had a good choice but needed better supervision as first day coffee machine stopped working, second day juice dispencer ran out, third day coffee machine again a misfunction all promptly fixed but annoying first thing in the morning. This hotel is idealy situated for visiting the Ebro Delta National Park with it`s diverse bird population, also the ancient city of Tortosa both a short drive away.Breakfast apart this is very professionly run with pleasent staff and, has nice "open feel" to it. Booked through Booking.com the price was about half of the "spot rate",overall a pleasant, clean hotel with good facilities, easy to locate.Would recommend and use again.

Right on sea the waters edge, they are not allowed to build them this close to the sea anymore. The hotel is not new, but has been thoroughly updated. All the rooms face the sea, and the room we stayed in which was on the lowest floor, (the hotel is on stilts) was probably 20 Metres from the sea, great to go to sleep hearing the waves quietly lapping the shore, I loved it. The room was modern, clean, and big. The elephant in the room is the big cement works, which is at the back of the hotel, but that is some distance away, no noise from it when we was there. All in all, for the price I would say you would have a hard time beating it.

We had dinner here on our first evening in Alcanar, through recommendation of a friend. We had the menu. It was served in no time and felt like there was no care or thought put into it. The location is lovely but the food (that night) was terrible!

Stayed for one night. Very basic but cost reflected this. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Comfortable bed, decent shower. The aircon didn't work which was an issue. We ate in the restaurant and had a decent meal for €12 a head. I recommend the sole with almonds. The pool was good, freezing cold and quiet. The hotel was very quiet, but not enough staff on so bar service took ages. The little rocky cove was great for a sea swim. You need a car to get into town, as it's easily an hours walk along main road. Too basic and too far out for me but we did enjoy it.
