A little weird to get to if you’re approaching from the North, as you can’t enter off the road. You have to go another five minutes and come back!
Having said that, it’s hardly any price to pay, as the initial food to the eye, is of calming solitude and splendour.
Lavish grounds with well tendered palms and lawns, four poster beds around the pool with fine drapes, and acres of orange groves encapsulating the whole estate.
Once inside the hotel, temperature taken, hand gel squirted on, and you’re off for a guided tour of the hotel.
It’s quite dark, which in actual fact gave it a cooler feel.Quirky also springs to mind, with all the nooks and crannies within.
The restaurant was well proportioned, although not cheap, the taster menu was faultless, the wines interesting, and the service on point.
Some bedrooms have a view of the distant ocean, and we were blessed by having a balcony as large as a dance floor.
All in all a memorable stay, albeit a short one.

Response from Tancat Codorniu, Dueño at Tancat de Codorniu

We booked this hotel without really knowing anything about it as a stopover on our roadtrip in Spain. What a great find!!
The hotel itself is in beautiful grounds, palm trees, beautiful bougainvillea, orange groves, its a little slice of paradise (and this was in mid January!)
The pools, surrounded by lawns and gazebos looked very inviting, but were a bit chilly despite the 20 degeee January sunshine.
The receptionist was welcoming and very nice as was our lovely, well equiped room with a beautiful terrace with a view of the garden and surrounding mountains.
The lounge areas were tastefully appointed and the open fire (burning orange wood?) made for a cosy evening backdrop to enjoy some wine and tapas.
We slept very well and enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next morning, with some of the best breakfast buffet food I've had.
Its a five minute stroll through the orange groves and olive trees to the coast, which has some stoney beaches, and a nice walk into town (8km there and back).
All in all a really great find. Highly recommended, just wish we could have stayed a little longer.

We spent two nights in this beautiful hotel .We loved the atmosphre from outside with many palm and tangerine trees . We liked the decoration from inside with comfortable white Sofas and fire place . Actually there a plenty of places to sit and relax ( also outside by the 2 pools , bar and the two restaurants , an ideal place to celebrate events such a wedding for exemple . We hat the room called " special number 9 "which has a very nice terrase with deck chairs and a view facing the palm trees . The room is spacious with comfortable bed and the hydromassage bath is a big plus ! Breakfast was very good . The service professional and friendly. We had a nice experience and can really recommended it .

We went to six people for a drink in the evening and, although the place is very nice, it is worth noting the unprofessionalism of the bar staff, since, with the variety of gins they had, they could not tell us about some we asked.
It should also be noted that the price chart for cocktails and gintonics was very brief.
We were served some pretty basic mojitos made with white sugar, I have tried them better in other places in the area.
Although one of the gins we were asked for was premium gin, we were charged 20.5eur for it.
On the glass chart, the most expensive gin was worth 10eur.
When we asked for the bill, we complained about it, how expensive that gin cost us, because we had not been informed of the price, either by the staff or because of its scarce price information for the glasses
We tried to talk to the manager to complain, and it was not possible, it was not and we could not make a claim, this is reportable!!
Unfortunately, the experience was dire, for its non-professional staff on a site that menus are already charged at a high price, and lack of information and empathy for the customer
We will not return!!

I had a great couple of days. Felt like paradise surrounded by palm trees and the beach is a 5 min bike ride away. There are 2 amazing restaurants and three pools that you can enjoy in the sun. Will definitely come back before the summer ends. Recommend!

The service was substandard, upon arrival we were directed to the table with an arm gesture from a distance. This table was set for 3 people and there were four of us!
When serving the food, no explanation about what is on the plates. Put it down and go!
When paying, there was no one in the restaurant and we had to shout to pay.
It was a disappointing experience!!
This is not like in previous years, when we had dinner there, when both the food and service were excellent!

Third visit to this wonderful place.
Upgraded each time.
Fabulous experience.gorgeous grounds.
Good food but be aware that you should ask for accompaniments or you will just receive a ‘very lovely’ piece of steak or fish.
Pleasant staff but courses came a little too quickly.
Checkin staff delightful.
Bit of a gem

I didn't expect it but I have to agree with the last 2 reviews.
My experience I do not know if it is because of the clothing that was not right for the place and we were not treated as the rest I could appreciate, we finished the arror and waiting for desserts they removed the tables around us and ours as if I was not wanting to try now we took away our desire. I expected a more attentive service they changed the bottle of wine because they did not have the one that I ordered and in the end the one that if they did not take it out and to finish the rice I ordered two glasses. At lunch I expected a little more calidat.
Spectacular place but the kitchen doesn't finish it blustering

Taking advantage of the Galera Kitchen we went to this restaurant, we didn't know it. The complete "tasting menu", monochrome with the galley, the star product. The spectacular rice. The correct service and the price too. The outdoor area is very pleasant to have a vermouth or a drink.
