wenty-five kilometres from the nearest beach, Su Gologone lies in the heart of Barbagia – a part of the island rich in traditions and history. Ancient olive trees and vineyards cling to the slopes of the mountainous Supramonte area, where the air is fragrant with myrtle and rosemary. Only 25km from the nearest beach, the hotel is surrounded by Mediterranean flora – geraniums, hydrangeas, bougainvillea and prickly pears – and steeped in the art and culture of a part of the world that is both rugged and refined. Every detail of the hotel reflects the character its location. The furnishings and materials – juniper wood, terracotta and inlaid plaster – are deeply authentic. Stay with us and enjoy warm hospitality, untainted nature, enduring customs and mouth-watering cuisine.

The hotel is tastefully decorated and full of little secret corners. The cuisine of the different restaurants is excellent, with a special mention for the "vegetable garden". The setting is so idyllic and relaxing that you can completely disconnect. If I have only one recommendation to make, it would be to renovate all the home automation/electricity in the rooms (or to remove it altogether) because the technologies are a bit outdated. This being the case the rooms remain very pretty and nicely arranged. We have already come twice and we don't see the time to come back!

The location is magnificent, tucked away in the wilderness of Sardinia and surrounded by mountains. The hotel grounds themselves are very pleasant, with seemingly whatever you activities you might want: pool, tennis, mini golf, cooking demonstrations, etc. The restaurant is excellent. The service workers are very nice and attentive. The problems begin when you enter your room... The handle on my door had a screw loose - I practically yanked the handle off when I went to open the door. The lighting in the rooms is fluorescent - it flickers when you switch it on, then takes several minutes to warm up and never really provides a nice quality light. The telephone was broken. The room safe had a lot of cosmetic damage (ie, faceplate falling off) and should have been replaced. The towel warmer in the bathroom didn't work. The mattress was a firm innerspring mattress - substandard for a luxury hotel these days. They provided shampoo but no conditioner. No pen and paper were provided. The hot water in the shower was intermittent. The air conditioning in the gym - essential when you're exercising in 90F weather - was broken. (Seems like basically all the electronics in the hotel are broken.) The one treadmill in the gym was thankfully in working order, but was a pretty basic (ie. cheap) model. The wifi (kind of important when you're in an area with no cell phone service and the phone in your room is broken!), while usable, was pretty slow. As someone else noted, a lot of the amenities in the hotel (bars, boutiques, etc) seemed to be closed most of the time. I simply cannot overlook these flaws when they're charging 250€++ per night for the most basic room.

Amazing scenery, friendly, helpful and professional staff, up to their history and standard: su gologone is probably one of the best traditional restaurants in Sardinia. Great starters and choice of traditional pasta dishes, high quality products and reasonable prices (on the high end, but fair considering the overall quality). The biggest disappointment came from the "bortigalesa" steak, that was the main reason I wanted to come here. This time the steak was not not up to the standard, it was stringy and dry. Wine menu needs some improvement, too: the only reds were local cannonau, and the few non local labels mentioned in the menu were not available. All considered, I still recommend this place, hoping they will improve during the season, both in giving more options on the wines and in bringing back the bortigalesa to what it used to be.

First, I'd like to point out how this hotel handles unwanted touching cases, as I read the reviews when we were already there. It's shameful and unprofessional to treat an accusation of sexual harassment so lightly. Check the safety review, as a woman claimed she experienced unwanted touching from a male staff. And the owner's answer was gaslight - it didn't happen like that. Without proper investigation, it was just dismissed because it was about an old time employee. I'm sorry this happened and I hope it won't happen again. I hope measures are taken because it is NOT EVER ok to touch someone without their approval, even if she was in 'danger' of being soaked. As for my experience, the hotel is expensive for nothing. Mini golf was under water. Restaurant seated guests in close proximity, there could have been more distance. The menu is meat (pork, lamb) and cooked veggies always in an olive oil soup. Food also generally expensive for no reason.

We stayed at this charming hotel for one night and got a competitive rate due to off season. I enjoyed some of the best cocktails I have ever tried, even though they were quite expensive. I can recommend the “chocolate and ginger mojito”!!! We also enjoyed eating in the well known restaurant with an open fire. The staff was extremely accommodating and our room was great. Although the pool is very big and suitable for keen swimmers, this part of the hotel seems slightly outdated. We went to the river which is only a 3minute drive away and enjoyed a wonderful walk with exquisite views. I can highly recommend a stay at this hotel if you are passing.
